This week thousands of creators were demonetized on X with no given reason.

I’ve been monetized on Youtube for 6 months now. I can honestly say it’s been the best, most predictable revenue stream for a social media site ever. It’s incredibly simple and transparent. The more views you get, the more you get paid. And every penny you make you get in depth analytics on.

The Most Important Exercise You Can Do As a Content Creator

The single biggest challenge creators come to me with is simple: “I don’t know what to write about.”

People know they want to create content. They know they want to start making money on the internet. They just don’t know what to talk about to get them there.

Well I have the only exercise you’ll ever need to solve those problems.

This Monday I woke up and decided to try a new routine. I went straight from my bed to my Nespresso machine and made an oat milk latte. Then I went to my couch and sat there for 2 hours and just wrote (by hand).

Completely open mind. No direction. No purpose. Just dump it all out.

What I organically ended up doing was jotting down everything I stood for. All of my principles. Everything I believed as a content creator.

Just a simple list of everything I truly believed in. (btw I’ll give you this full list shortly).

Can be personal beliefs or just beliefs on how business worked.

Some of these beliefs included:

College is a waste of money

Anyone can build an audience on social media

Networking is the best strategy for growth

You need to be vulnerable

The closer you are to your real authentic self the more people will be attracted to you

The result of this exercise will change how I create content forever. I now have a list of topics and beliefs I can always pull from.

If I ever have writer’s block or are not sure what I want to talk about, I can just go to this list and find a belief. Then I can take this belief and start writing about it. Or tweet about it. Or create a video on it.

Doesn’t matter the platform, I now have an infinite amount of inspiration I can pull from.

This is like my U.S. Constitution of content. It’ll completely drive how I create moving forward.

When judges decide what’s legal they look at the constitution. When I decide what I want to create about I look at my list of principles.

This is an exercise EVERY content creator in the world needs to do. Heck, even if you’re not a content creator I think you should do this. You’ll get an understanding of how you operate and what’s important to you.

So how do you do this? Wake up a little earlier one day this week. Don’t touch your phone. Go straight to the kitchen and drink some water or make a coffee. Come back to your couch with a notebook and pen (I used my Kindle Scribe which is an awesome e-reader notebook where you can write by hand.)

Carve out at least a half hour, but I’d encourage you to go a full hour.

Write down everything you personally believe in.

Take this list then digitize it. Put it in a google doc or in Notion.

Whenever you’re ready to create content, come back to it and read down the list. Choose a principle you want to expand on. I truly believe this will change the way you create.

Sit your ass down at your computer, and don't move until you're rich

We honestly have a once in a 20 year opportunity right now.

Once every 20 years a new tech comes around that spurs a gold rush. It creates life changing opportunity for the people who pounce.

20 years ago it was the internet. For the people who acted quick, they built websites that were instantly valued in the billions.

In 2025, it’s AI. AI is presenting the opportunity for ANYONE to build ANYTHING they want. Before 2025, there was a tremendous barrier of entry to building. Mainly, you need knowledge, skills, and the motivation to act.

Because of AI, those first 2 items are no longer necessary. All you need is motivation to act.

I had no idea how to build enterprise apps. I didn’t have the skills to build advanced software. But when I used Cursor for the first time, it didn’t matter. The AI took away my need for knowledge or skills. All I needed was the motivation to act.

YOU have that opportunity now too. We are in that incredible time period where this new technology that allows ANYONE to build any business or product they want has released for cheap, but not many people are taking advantage.

I truly believe EVERYONE should be building with AI right now. EVERYONE. It doesn’t matter your skills, background, race, ethnicity, age, gender, nothing. All that matters if you have access to the internet or not.

If you have access to the internet, you can be building a product or business for basically no cost.

Grok 3 is completely free. Go on grok.com and you have your own built in business consultant.

Here' is the prompt I’d use if I had 0 skills but wanted to build a business:

That’s it. Put that in and Grok will generate you ideas for what you can build with AI, no skills required.

This is what I did to build Creator Buddy. 1 month after release and I’m at 540 users and $315,000 of ARR. Life completely changed.

This is the opportunity you have. You have access to AI right now for free. That means YOU have the ability to build a product for your audience that will solve their problems.

Even if you’ve never coded a day in your life, the AI can handle that for you. All you’re doing is giving it commands.

Tomorrow I’m releasing my life’s work.

The Playbook for Getting Rich in 2025

The creator economy has completely changed over the last 6 months.

Previous playbook:

While this playbook was great in 2021, those days are gone. Now every Tom, Dick, and Jane is running that playbook. When everyone’s doing something, it no longer works.

The Best Content Strategy EVER

The question I get asked more than anything is "How do I find my niche?"

The biggest struggle for people is finding their voice. They struggle to figure out what they should talk about on X or which videos they should be filming.

I've been creating content for over a decade now. I've started sports blogs, financial newsletters, and finally my own personal X account.

I've gained hundreds of thousands of followers and subscribers. After all this time I've learned one strategy that works 100% of the time:

Learn in public.

That's it. Pursue your curiosities, learn new things, and document your journey.

This has been my mindset for years now and has led to me starting the business of my dreams.

I recently have been doing this with Youtube. I started a Youtube channel a few months ago and started filming myself learning things. Eventually I filmed myself learning AI programming and it took off.

I instantly started gaining thousands of subscribers.

I listened to that signal and leaned in harder. Started spending a little time every day trying out new AI tools and filming myself doing it.

Not only was it helping me create great content and build a following, but I was also learning, getting smarter, and improving. A win/win/win.

You literally have nothing to lose. Even if your content doesn't get attention, you're still learning and improving as an individual.

What's great is this is also the most monetizable niche on the internet. If you succeed in teaching your audience something, you can then proceed to sell courses or start a community.

Here's how you start:

Reflect on your current interests. Where do you have room to grow? Which skills can you improve? Start building projects in those subjects. If you're at a loss then open up ChatGPT or Claude and start a conversation. Tell the AI your interests and ask what skills you can build in those interests.

I guarantee if you start this today, you'll have figured out your niche by this time next month.

Or at the very least, have improved your skillsets DRAMATICALLY.

Keep at this strategy long enough, and you'll have an online business of your own. You'll be able to quit your job and pursue your curiosities full time.

The Only Way to Win in 2025

We are about to enter the most important year in human history. I’m not joking.

The rate of innovation in technology has hit a velocity never seen before.

Self driving cars. Rocket ships being caught in mid air. AI that can build enterprise applications in seconds. There has never been a time like this one.

With all this growth comes destruction.

What has been destroyed is advantage. Let me explain.

AI Just Created a Life Changing Opportunity

I've had a realization the last few weeks that changed my life:

We are living in a moment in time where literally anyone in the world can build the applications of their dreams with 0 programming or technical experience. It literally just started a month ago and almost nobody knows about it.

ANYONE right now can go on their computer, take any of the ideas they've had stuck in their noggin for years, and then actually build it out themselves.

They can then put it on the internet and make money off it.

Again, no technical experience required at all.

The challenge has always been this: only a select few have ever been able to build out the ideas in their heads. The average Joe couldn’t unless they spent years picking up tech skills

Now ANYONE can get an idea, build it, then ship it. That’s seriously powerful.

Generate Unlimited Ideas for Content Creation

I get a lot of questions about writer’s block and how to deal with it. My advice is always this: don’t get writer’s block. It might sound arrogant at first but let me unpack that. You’ll never get writer’s block if you create the proper systems to generate ideas.

The only way you’ll ever get writer’s block is if you stare at a blank screen. No part of your creative process should be staring at a blank screen. Let’s walk through the process and techniques I’ve used over the last year to never suffer from writer’s block.

Hub and Spoke Model

The core of my creative process is called the hub and spoke model. I take a hub piece of content (typically my threads) and turn them into 20 different pieces of spoke content.

So, for instance, if I write a thread on five side hustles you can work on, I’ll turn each of those side hustles into individual tweets over the next several weeks. Then I might take that thread and do a deep dive piece in a newsletter. You can take one piece of hub content and turn it into dozens of spoke content.

1. Build hub content (typically long form content like threads or newsletters)

2. Turn into spoke content (short form tweets and videos)

Steal Like an Artist

If you haven’t read “Steal Like an Artist” by Austin Kleon you need to get to it. An excellent book about how to draw inspiration from other creators in an ethical way. As J. Cole/ the Bible once said: “There is nothing new under the sun”. There is nothing creatively unique anymore. Everything created today has been inspired by something else. Here’s how I’d recommend finding inspiration:

1. Create X Lists of accounts in your niche

2. Subscribe to as many high-quality newsletters as you can

3. Read tons of books and take notes

4. Have a good note-taking app (I like Notion), and write down every idea that comes to you as you consume inspiration.

Get Inspiration from Yourself

You need to be reviewing your past content. If I’m ever struggling to find inspiration, I invariably capture dozens of ideas just by going back and reading old tweets and threads. I perform all my content review in a Google Spreadsheet.

Every night I go into this sheet and enter all my tweets from the past day. I put in the likes, replies, and retweet counts. Then weekly, I review this sheet and check to see what worked and what didn’t. I always formulate new ideas by going through my history.

Find New Angles

What do I do with all this old content I’m reviewing? I try to find new angles and also apply new lessons learned. Say I wrote a thread on copywriting tips. Maybe I’ll take this thread and then use it as inspiration to develop formatting tips. I take this idea of improving your writing content and find ten different ways to approach that topic.

To some, this might seem repetitive, but this will only be a small minority. Most people (the ones that you made your content for) will appreciate the different angles and perspectives you’re taking.

Also, the more you create content, the more you learn. I’ll find threads I wrote back in June that were great concepts but executed poorly. I’ve learned new ways to make compelling threads in the seven months since. So I’ll take that old thread and apply the new lessons and methods I’ve learned.

Again, for a small percent of your audience, it might feel repetitive, but for most people, including ALL the new audience members you’ve picked up in the meantime, they’ll highly appreciate this new approach.

These are a few of my main systems for ideating content. With these techniques, I have yet to suffer from writer’s block in the last 3 years.

The last thing you want to do is stare at a blank screen. Build some proper systems, and that will never happen.

My Growth Has Tripled the Last Month. Here's Why:

This last month has been life changing for me.

For the past year I’ve been averaging about 150 new followers a day on X. This last month it has skyrocketed to 500 a day.

This isn’t a coincidence. I’ve completely changed my playbook.

For a year now Elon and Linda have been saying the same thing over and over. X is about to become a video first platform.

The algo is now 100% all in on videos. You scroll your feed now all you see is videos. Elon has basically been BEGGING you to create videos. Engagement feel down? It’s probably because you’re not posting videos.

I don’t know why I’ve waited this long to change my strategy. So this month I finally did. I went all in on video content. It changed everything.

I know what you’re thinking. “But Alex, I want to do that too, but I have no idea what to make videos about.”

I had the same issue. I was lost. I wanted to make videos about my hobbies, but my biggest hobby was programming and my content has nothing to do with that.

I said fuck it and did it anyway.

For the past month I’ve created 3 long form videos a week of me programming using AI. Despite them having nothing to do with my niche, they’ve completely blown up.

Each video gets me hundreds of likes on X. On top of that, my Youtube has EXPLODED. I’ve gone from 0 to 1,500 subscribers in under a month (make sure to subscribe!). I will probably me monetized in the next 30 days. UNREAL.

Going all in on video has changed not only my content and career, but my entire life.

My engagement and growth aren’t only exploding, but I’ve found a new creative challenge that’s totally reinvigorated me. I’ve never been so motivated to get up and build in my entire life.

I’m not only wildly passionate about improving my video craft, but I’m also having a blast because I’m making content specifically about what I love. Programming and tech.

So what does this mean for you? How do you take advantage of this moment of time?

Start filming. It doesn’t matter about what. What are you passionate about? Turn on your phone camera right now and start talking about it.

I know what you’re thinking. Alex that’s so uncomfortable.

I know. Good. 99% of people are thinking the same thing. That’s why you HAVE to do it. If your competition is scared to do it, that means you have an OPPORTUNITY.

This is blowing up for me on X because NOBODY else wants to do it. The bar is so low at the moment.

On top of that, I promise you once you break through the discomfort, you’ll feel so much JOY. It’s so gratifying as a human being to express ourselves creatively.

Video is a whole new channel for you to express your creativity. It allows for so much more expression than a 280 character tweet.

Don’t over think it. Embrace the discomfort.

Not only will your follower count and engagement thank you, but your soul will too.

How to Monetize Yourself Online

If you’re reading this newsletter, odds are you’re looking to build a brand or business with your online presence. Whether that’s through selling a product or making money off X ad revenue, you have an end goal with your online brand that probably has something to do with generating revenue.

Over the past 3 years of building my brand, I’ve been lucky enough to turn it into a business and start generating income. Here are all the lessons I’ve learned along the way that have been impactful for me when it comes to maximizing revenue from my X presence and newsletter.

Think about how you want to monetize early, then reverse engineer

From day 1, I wanted to build a business around a newsletter.

Morning Brew was a newsletter built by a couple of guys in college who later sold it for 75 million dollars. I knew with my life and career, a newsletter would be something I’d be able to build in my spare time and eventually monetize. With that in mind, I started my newsletter day 1 of building my brand.

The day I created my X account is the day I started writing my newsletter. Starting my newsletter early on was instrumental in my success.

Here’s what you need to do: no matter how early you are in your journey, think about how you want to monetize. What kind of business do you want to build? Start putting the pieces into place NOW for that goal.

If you want to do consulting, start building consulting materials. If you want to build a course or write a book, start writing those courses and books now. What will happen is the moment you are ready to monetize, you’ll already be prepared to strike in a big way.

Wait way too long

First piece of advice was to start planning early. My next piece of advice is to wait way too long.

I didn’t make a penny of revenue until I was about 50,000 followers and 7,000 subscribers. It took me a full year to take in my first revenue. I wanted to give value away as long as possible before taking any value.

After 10 months of giving value for free, I took my first penny of value by offering a sponsorship spot in my newsletter.

Taking money early can slow your growth, depending on your goals. I wanted to be known as the guy who relentlessly gave value away for free, and I truly believe that helped my growth tremendously. Wait a little too long to monetize. Be patient. It’ll be so much better for your brand, growth, and image.

Don’t damage your brand with bad deals

This is the most difficult part for most people. When you start growing, a lot of really shady companies and projects will offer you money for sponsorships.

There’s cash freely flowing, and it can be tempting to take some of it.

I promise you this: your brand is way more valuable than any quick payday you can take from a shady project. Don’t damage your brand by doing undisclosed advertising or associating yourself with bad companies.

Build an email list

Email is the cockroach of the internet. It’ll never go away. Build an email list early and often. It is one of the most powerful distribution channels on the entire internet.

You own the list and you always go straight to their inbox. Having an email list of your most loyal community members will make it so much easier to launch new products or start on new platforms. As I expand onto Youtube, it is way easier for me to gain a following because I can share my content on this newsletter.

Build your email list early, it’ll be the most valuable asset you have.

Build products that scale

The internet has unlocked the ability for you to create products once then sell it an infinite amount of times. If I write an ebook or create a course, I can create it once then sell it over and over again with no additional work.

As you grow, think about digital products you could build along the way that scale infinitely like ebooks and courses. Start planning them early. These are the highest-leverage products you can offer to your community.

Ideate relentlessly from day 1

Lastly, ideate relentlessly from the moment you begin. Get a note app (I use Notion), and any time an idea pops into your head, put it in the app. Whether it’s for an ebook, course, consulting session, or anything at all, be ready to ideate at a moment’s notice.

What will happen is months later, when you’re finally ready to monetize, you won’t be starting from scratch. You’ll have an entire bank of ideas ready. I started monetizing a couple years ago, but I already had pages and pages of ideas for products I could execute on. Ideate early and often.

These are the core rules and lessons I’ve learned over the last 3 years of building this brand. It doesn’t matter how large your following is; start planning for monetization NOW. It’ll make it much easier to turn your passions into a career in the future.
