The additional award in the Swedish Final of New Nordic Pitch Competition contains a fast track to CGI Unicorn Academy’s qualification process. You are invited to a special edition of Stream Connect as it goes New Nordics Pitch Competition Finland Final 2023 at G Livelab Tampere. 8 carefully selected startups from Finland will compete to be the New Nordics Grand Champion. Organized by Platform6, the competition gives startups and scale-ups a platform to present their innovations to potential investors, and the winners will take part in the Grand Final during the Slush week in Helsinki on November 29th, 2023.

The competition is part of Silicon Viking’s activities to support startups from the New Nordics, provide them with valuable connections regionally and with the US market and investors, and enhance their visibility within the startup ecosystem overall. The regional finalists and winners are selected by the rating given by regional juries. The regional jury members rate each finalist according to a scoring based on the following: idea, ability to scale, business plan, traction, competitive advantage, market needs, presentation, team, and the ability to solve real-world problems.

Russell Wald, Managing Director for Policy and Society, Stanford HAI

Russell Wald leads the policy and society initiative at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI), engaging with civil society and governments globally. As part of HAI's executive management team, he sets the strategic vision for policy and societal research, education, and outreach. He directs a team to equip civil society and policymakers with resources for advancing human-centered AI. Wald co-authored various publications on AI and is part of a HAI seed grant research project on AI-fueled digital media platforms.

Having held various policy positions at Stanford University for nearly a decade, he also co-designed and led the inaugural Stanford congressional boot camp in 2014, establishing a tradition of educating policymakers and enhancing collaboration between governments and academic institutions. Wald is a graduate of UCLA.
