What’s the challenge for the day today?

Sometimes, I get distracted with no positive outcome.
Am I alone? Be Honest.

The Challenge

Being a creator has so many wonderful opportunities that are presented daily.

The biggest challenge is the necessity to avoid distraction.

I am a professional Squirrel Hunter and get distracted all the time.

I’m not bragging.

However, I can get distracted by the smallest interruption or activity.

Updating a website, I might see an update that I want to learn more about, and BOOM, a free ticket to Wanderland.

Wander over to this site and that site. Wander here and there.

I have to get up and walk around and reset my focus.

Considerations

I have a few programs that I use to practice focus when I’m working to complete a deadline and have to complete a deadline.

I like turning off notifications and launching an app called Sukha that times me and also reminds me to take breaks.

It includes some gamification and rewards you for time spent on the app.

My favorite feature is the ability to play music.

I connected it to my Spotify account and can play my own playlists,

It helps me in my ability to focus for an extended amount of time.

My point is that I have ways to avoid my tendency to get distracted,

Question? Does anyone else get bothered when you listen to an “instrumental” playlist and the first few songs have vocals?

I just jumped into distraction mode. Is it just me who gets annoyed?

What’s the challenge for the day today?

When we’re in the trenches, it’s hard to offer assistance.

The Challenge

We all have 24 hours daily, so many tasks must be completed to allow business to run.

When you’re stressed out and working on your goals, looking up and offering assistance is a challenge.

I’m a caregiver for my mother and work from home.

Mom will always need support, and I’m happy to assist her whenever she needs help.

And it all takes time.

I’m grateful for my time rather than stressing about the other tasks I have on my list.

I am grateful for my time and love to help her in this chapter of life.

Thank you, Mom, for all you did to support my journey.

Something to consider.

Considerations

We all have demands in life, and one of the rewards we can all appreciate is the opportunity to create value.

We are all creators and focused on adding value to the world.

We’re also human and prone to stressing out when it gets overwhelming.

That’s why this community was created.

You are not alone when stress hits the fan.

You’re not the only one that has crashed from burning out.

Much of what I have focused my time on involves technology and getting a broad view of multiple subjects.

I’m reasonably good at a few, and others I know enough to understand.

Enough to be dangerous.

Considerations

When you know a little about a lot, you have difficulty being the expert on a single subject.

That is not to say you can’t assist others in learning what you know.

However, you may not become the primary authority on the subject.

One of my coaches suggested half-jokingly…
You only need a fourth-grade education to teach the third-grade.

We know that is not accurate, and we can still use the example to illustrate the idea of being able to teach something to anyone who knows less than you do.

Simple and true.

Here’s the challenge we face.

Not knowing what we know and allowing ourselves we know enough to share it with others.

When we drill into the results, it’s staring at us in the mirror.

The Challenge

Developing a great story is always a skill you can use and improve.

I don’t know about you, but I love a good story.

I shared a story on the Moth Stage once.

I had to share a story as I was healing from my Son’s Suicide.

It’s painful.

I learned from the experience.

I was able to liberate some of the trauma of the experience.

I’ll always have moments of pain. However, I’ll never be the same. 

You remember the lesson once you have an experience (good or bad.)

Considerations

Lessons don’t always arrive when we expect them.

Sometimes, they show up at the most challenging moments in life.

My biggest lessons have been during my biggest challenges.

The beautiful lesson to learn is I continue to practice gratitude.
