How exactly does this work?

• After that, tap on “Deposit”, enter the desired amount, and confirm the transaction again using “Swipe to send” – the deposit will go directly into the savings account.

• With a tap on “Collect”, any accumulated interest can be collected.

• “Withdraw” allows the balance to be paid out. This transaction is also confirmed via “Swipe to send”.

Decentralized Euro startet - Interessante Renditemöglichkeiten warten!

Decentralized Euro ist der erste und einzige vollständig dezentrale Stablecoin für den Euro. Unter der Leitung von DFX wurde das Frankencoin-Protokoll (der grösste Schweizer Franken Stablecoin) geforkt und als Decentralized Euro-Version auf der Ethereum-Blockchain deployed. Hierbei ist anzumerken, dass DFX ab jetzt keine Kontrolle mehr über den Smart Contract hat, sondern dies ausschliesslich über die dezentrale Governance erfolgen kann.

Es gibt zwei ERC-20-Token: den Stablecoin Decentralized Euro und den Governance-Token Native Decentralized Euro Protocol Share (nDEPS). Dadurch entsteht ein unabhängiges Ökosystem, das sich rein durch dezentrale Governance weiterentwickelt.

Decentralized Euro wird von der dEURO Association unterstützt, deren Zweck es ist, das Protokoll zu fördern. Die Association trägt zur Weiterentwicklung des Systems bei und informiert die Öffentlichkeit über geeignete Kanäle (Website, Events, Social Media, Token-Listings etc.). Sie kann beispielsweise ein Frontend entwickeln und betreiben, um den Zugang zu erleichtern, greift jedoch nicht in das System ein, handelt nicht aktiv mit Kryptowährungen und bietet keine Dienstleistungen für Dritte an. Im Decentralized Euro Protokoll entstehen neue Decentralized Euro durch die Aufnahme von Krediten, die durch ERC20-Token (z.B. wBTC oder wETH) besichert sind und mit einem Zins belastet werden. Die Zinseinnahmen aus diesen Krediten fliessen direkt dem Protokoll zu und bilden eine wichtige Einnahmequelle.

Diese Zinseinnahmen, der Cashflow, ermöglichen die Finanzierung der Saving-Zinsen und des Referral-Moduls, wodurch das System kontinuierlich gestärkt und stabilisiert wird. Der Überschuss, der nach Deckung dieser Kosten übrig bleibt, kommt den Inhabern des Protokolls, den nDEPS-Haltern, zugute.

Durch diese Einnahmen erhält das Decentralized Euro Protokoll eine nachhaltige Finanzierungsquelle, die den DEPS-Token einen tatsächlichen Wert verleiht.

Wie bekomme ich Decentralized Euro in meine Ethereum Wallet?

So kannst du den On- und Offramp Service von DFX nutzen:

Decentralized Euro is the first and only fully decentralised stablecoin for the euro. It offers users a secure, transparent and autonomous way to store assets in euro stablecoins, have them work for them and become a shareholder in the protocol. Through a technologically advanced, oracle-free smart contract architecture, Decentralized Euro enables fast and cost-efficient transactions while providing a seamless user experience.

Under the leadership of DFX, the Frankencoin protocol (the largest Swiss franc stablecoin) was forked and deployed as the Decentralized Euro version on the Ethereum blockchain. It should be noted here that DFX no longer has any control over the smart contract, but can only do so via decentralised governance.

There are two ERC-20 tokens: the stablecoin Decentralised Euro and the governance token Native Decentralised Euro Protocol Share (nDEPS). This creates an independent ecosystem that develops purely through decentralised governance.

Decentralized Euro is supported by the dEURO Association, whose purpose is to promote the protocol. The Association contributes to the further development of the system and informs the public via suitable channels (website, events, social media, token listings, etc.). It may, for example, develop and operate a front end to facilitate access, but does not intervene in the system, does not actively trade cryptocurrencies and does not offer services to third parties. It does not pursue a profit motive and does not carry out any regulated activities.

The Decentralized Euro protocol is therefore 100% decentralised and autonomous: nobody, not even the dEURO Association, has control over the protocol. Where does the yield in the Decentralized Euro protocol come from?

Unlike other stablecoin or crypto projects, everything in the Decentralized Euro protocol is completely transparent and can be viewed and verified on the blockchain. The Decentralized Euro protocol is a self-contained ecosystem of fees and interest. All reserves can be viewed and checked on-chain by anyone at any time.

1 Decentralized Euro = 1 Euro

In the Decentralized Euro protocol, new Decentralized Euro are created by taking out loans that are collateralised by ERC20 tokens (e.g. wBTC or wETH) and charged with interest. The interest income from these loans flows directly to the protocol and forms an important source of income.

This interest income, the cash flow, makes it possible to finance the saving interest and the referral module, which continuously strengthens and stabilises the system. The surplus that remains after covering these costs benefits the holders of the protocol, the nDEPS holders.

This revenue provides the Decentralized Euro protocol with a sustainable source of funding that gives the DEPS tokens real value.

How do I get Decentralized Euro into my Ethereum wallet?

This is how you can use the DFX on- and off-ramp service:

1. Go to app.dfx.swiss

2. Select EVM Chains > Ethereum Mainnet > Others

3. Connect your wallet

4. Enter your desired amount and choose bank transfer or credit card

5. Select one of the stablecoins (e.g. EURT)

6. After a successful transfer, you will receive the selected stablecoin directly in your wallet

From now on, you can exchange these stablecoins for Decentralized Euro without delay and place them directly in the savings module for 10% APR or invest them in the nDEPS/DEPS.

Was verbirgt sich hinter dem Frankencoin Projekt?

Um das Frankencoin Projekt zu verstehen, muss man im ersten Schritt verstehen, wie FIAT-Geld (US Dollar, Euro oder Schweizer Franken) vermehrt bzw. verknappt wird:

Die Geldschöpfung erfolgt in der Regel durch das Bankensystem und Zentralbanken im jeweiligen Wirtschaftssystem. Das Problem dabei ist, dass Entscheidungen durch einzelne Personen getroffen werden. So werden zum Beispiel Anreize für übermäßige Investitionen in Staatsanleihen und Immobilien geschaffen, die zu Lasten von Innovation und Wachstum gehen. 

In einer idealen Welt erfolgt die Geldmengenausweitung bzw. -verknappung unter demokratischen Bedingungen und unter Einhaltung klar kommunizierten Regeln.

In Zukunft kann, dank der Blockchain-Technologie, jeder, der über geeignete Sicherheiten verfügt, direkt an der Erschaffung des Geldes mitwirken, wodurch der Prozess dezentralisiert wird. Dies führt zu mehr Wachstum und in der Folge dessen zu mehr Wohlstand. 

Das Frankencoin Projekt hat genau das vor – die Demokratisierung der Geldschöpfung.

Frankencoin (ZCHF)

Der Frankencoin startete als phd-Projekt von Luzius Meisser, Mitgründer der Bitcoin Association Switzerland und unter anderem Verwaltungsratspräsident bei Bitcoin Suisse. Das Projekt wurde nach Veröffentlichung der phd Arbeit ins wahre (Blockchain-) Leben mit dem Ziel übertragen, einen orakelfreien, besicherten und dezentralen Schweizer Franken Stablecoin auf dem Ethereum Network zu schaffen.

Das System ist wirklich dezentral aufgebaut und kann nicht von einer zentralisierten Entität kontrolliert werden, da der Smart Contract auf der Ethereum Blockchain deployed wurde und somit nie wieder verändert werden kann. Auch diejenigen Personen, welche den Smart Contract erschaffen haben, sind nicht in der Lage, ihn wieder abzuschalten. Um auf zukünftige Entwicklungen reagieren zu können, ist es möglich, den Smart Contract mit zusätzlichen Funktionen upzudaten. Die Governance Token Inhaber bestimmen darüber, welche Updates akzeptiert werden und welche nicht. Akzeptierte Updates können nie wieder rückgängig gemacht werden. Alles, was einmal bewilligt wurde, bleibt genau so, wie es bewilligt wurde, unmanipulierbar und unveränderlich in der Ethereum Blockchain bestehen.

Wie kann ich von einem Stablecoin profitieren?

Im Frankencoin Ökosystem gibt es zwei Token: 

• Einen Stablecoin (Frankencoin), ZCHF, welcher den Schweizer Franken 1 zu 1 abbildet.

• Einen Governance-Token, FPS - Frankencoin Pool Share, der ähnlich wie das Eigenkapital einer Bank funktioniert. Vergleichsweise wie bei Aktien kann man mit diesem Token auf den Erfolg des Frankencoins spekulieren.

Warum ein weiterer Stablecoin?

Betrachtet man die Entwicklung der Gesamtmarktkapitalisierung von Stablecoins, zeigt sich ein immer weiter zunehmender Bedarf. Dies liegt zum einen darin begründet, dass Stablecoins in volatilen Zeiten als Wertespeicher dienen, aber auch um schnelle Transaktionen durchzuführen, auch über Ländergrenzen hinweg. Zudem ermöglichen sie einige der vielversprechendsten DeFi-Anwendungen.

Zunächst müssen Stablecoins in mehrere Kategorien unterteilt werden. Hierbei gibt es klar zentralisierte Stablecoins wie Theter, oder auch den USD Coin von Circle. Diese Stablecoins werden von privaten, profitorientierten Unternehmen herausgegeben und sind nur so lange nützlich, wie die Herausgeber ein allgemeines Vertrauen genießen. Um diese Stablecoins benutzen zu können, ist es nötig, den Herausgebern zu vertrauen. 

Darüber hinaus gibt es klar dezentrale Ansätze, wie zum Beispiel LUSD von Liquity, oder DAI von MakerDao, wobei man hier nicht von einem vollkommen dezentralen Ansatz sprechen kann. Denn alle diese Systeme haben eine Sache gemein: die Abhängigkeit von Orakeln. 

Das Problem mit den Orakeln

Die oben beschriebenen, vermeintlich dezentralen Stablecoins, benötigen alle eine vertrauenswürdige Quelle für die Collateral Asset Preise. In der Kryptowelt werden diese Drittanbieter von Daten als »Orakel« bezeichnet. Sie werden häufig von Stablecoins genutzt, um den Wert ihrer Sicherheiten oder den Wechselkurs ihrer gebundenen Währung zu bestimmen. Wenn das Orakel ausfällt oder ungenaue Daten liefert, kann das Stablecoin-System ausfallen oder anfällig für Angriffe werden. Frankencoin funktioniert ohne Orakel und verwendet ein nutzergesteuertes Auktionssystem zur Bestimmung der Sicherheitswerte und macht es damit resilient gegen Attacken.

Welche Möglichkeiten bietet das Frankencoin Projekt

Schweizer Franken Stablecoin - Frankencoin (ZCHF)

Der Schweizer Franken gilt als stabilste Fiat-Währungen aufgrund der politischen Stabilität, einer starken Wirtschaft, fiskalischer Disziplin und einer weitestgehend unabhängigen Geldpolitik durch die Schweizerische Nationalbank.

Die Probleme bei den bereits vorhandenen Stablecoins sind entweder durch zentralisierte, undurchsichtige Ansätze, der Abhängigkeit von Orakeln und/oder auf die Beschränkung auf ein oder wenige Kollaterale gegeben. 

Vergleicht man die Entwicklung des Schweizer Franken zum US Dollar bzw. zum Euro, entspricht dies einem Kaufkraftverlust von bis zu 70% in den letzten 30 Jahren.

Neben dem Erhalt der Kaufkraft des Schweizer Franken ist Frankencoin der erste Stablecoin-Ansatz, der unserer Meinung nach langfristig wirklich funktionieren kann.

Hebel auf Assets wie BTC, ETH und viele Weitere 

Jeder kann zu jeder Zeit neue Frankencoin gegen eine Sicherheit minten und erstellt damit eine neue Position. Im Frankencoin-System gehört demnach eine Position immer zu genau einem Eigentümer. 

Der Eigentümer kann Sicherheiten für die Position hinterlegen und Frankencoins bis zu einem bestimmten, durch den Liquidationspreis festgelegten Limit minten.

Im Prinzip wird jede Sicherheit unterstützt, die auf dem Markt ausreichend verfügbar ist. Dazu gehörten Cryptowährungen, wie Wrapped Bitcoin, oder Liquid Staked Ethereum, aber auch auf der Blockchain ausgegebene Aktien von realen Unternehmen.

Jeder ist dazu berechtigt, jede Position anzufechten, wenn er der Meinung ist, dass der Verwertungspreis unter dem tatsächlichen Wert der Sicherheit liegt, was eine Auktion auslöst, die dazu dient, den Marktpreis der Sicherheit zu ermitteln. Dank dieses Mechanismus ist der Frankencoin nicht von Orakeln abhängig und sehr flexibel in Bezug auf die gestellten Sicherheiten.

Investiere in die Zukunft des Frankencoin - FPS Token

Frankencoin-Pool-Shares (FPS) sind Anteile wie eine Art Eigenkapital des Frankencoin-Systems. Als FPS-Inhaber ist man ähnlich wie ein Aktionär einer Bank. Wenn das Frankencoin-System durch Gebühren oder Liquidationen Gewinne erzielt, wird der Preis der Poolanteile automatisch nach oben angepasst. The democratization of money creation

What is behind the Frankencoin project?

In order to understand the Frankencoin project, the first step is to understand how FIAT money (US dollars, Euro or Swiss francs) is increased or reduced:

Money is usually created by the banking system and central banks in the respective economic system. The problem here is that decisions are made by individuals. This creates incentives for excessive investment in government bonds and real estate, for example, which is detrimental to innovation and growth.

In an ideal world, the expansion and contraction of the money supply would take place under democratic conditions and in compliance with clearly communicated rules.

In the future - thanks to blockchain technology - anyone with suitable collateral will be able to participate directly in the creation of money, decentralizing the process. This will lead to more growth and, as a result, more prosperity.

The Frankencoin project aims to do just that - democratize the creation of money.

Frankencoin (ZCHF)

The Frankencoin started as a phd project by Luzius Meisser, co-founder of the Bitcoin Association Switzerland and, among other things, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bitcoin Suisse. The project was transferred to real (blockchain) life after the publication of the phd work with the aim of creating an oracle-free, collateralized and decentralized Swiss franc stablecoin on the Ethereum network.

The system is truly decentralized and cannot be controlled by a centralized entity, as the smart contract was deployed on the decentralized Ethereum blockchain and can therefore never be changed again. Even the people who created the smart contract are not able to switch it off again. In order to be able to react to future developments, it is possible to update the smart contract with additional functions. The governance token holders decide which updates are accepted and which are not. Accepted updates can never be reversed. Everything that has been approved remains exactly as it was approved, unmanipulable and unchangeable in the Ethereum blockchain.

There are two tokens in the Frankencoin ecosystem:

• A stablecoin (Frankencoin), ZCHF, which represents the Swiss franc 1 to 1

• A governance token, FPS - Frankencoin Pool Share, which functions similarly to the equity of a bank. Similar to shares, this token can be used to speculate on the success of the Frankencoin.

Why another stablecoin?

If we look at the development of the total market capitalization of stablecoins, we see an ever-increasing demand. This is partly due to the fact that stablecoins serve as a store of value in volatile times, but also to carry out fast transactions, even across national borders. They also enable some of the most promising DeFi applications.

First of all, stablecoins must be divided into several categories. There are clearly centralized stablecoins such as Theter, or the USD Coin from Circle. These stablecoins are issued by private, profit-oriented companies and are only useful as long as the issuers enjoy general trust. In order to use these stablecoins, it is necessary to trust the issuers.

There are also clearly decentralized approaches, such as LUSD from Liquity or DAI from MakerDao, although it is not possible to speak of a completely decentralized approach here. Because all these systems have one thing in common - their dependence on oracles.

The issue with the oracles

The supposedly decentralized stablecoins described above all require a trusted source of collateral asset prices. In the crypto world, these third-party data providers are referred to as "oracles". They are often used by stablecoins to determine the value of their collateral or the exchange rate of their pegged currency. If the oracle fails or provides inaccurate data, the stablecoin system can fail or become vulnerable to attack. Frankencoin works without an oracle and uses a user-driven auction system to determine collateral values, making it resilient to attacks.

What opportunities does the Frankencoin project offer?

Swiss Franc Stablecoin - Frankencoin (ZCHF)

The Swiss franc is considered the most stable fiat currency due to its political stability, strong economy, fiscal discipline and largely independent monetary policy by the Swiss National Bank.

The problems with existing stablecoins are either due to centralized, opaque approaches, dependence on oracles and/or the limitation to one or a few collaterals.

If one compares the development of the Swiss franc to the US dollar or the euro, this corresponds to a loss in purchasing power of up to 70% over the last 30 years.

In addition to preserving the purchasing power of the Swiss franc, Frankencoin is the first stablecoin approach that we believe can really work in the long term.

Leverage on assets such as BTC, ETH and many more

Anyone can mint new Frankencoins against collateral at any time, thereby creating a new position. In the Frankencoin system, a position therefore always belongs to exactly one owner.

The owner can deposit collateral for the position and mine Frankencoins up to a certain limit set by the liquidation price. Anyone is entitled to challenge any position if they believe that the liquidation price is below the actual value of the collateral, which triggers an auction to determine the market price of the collateral. Thanks to this mechanism, Frankencoin is not dependent on oracles and is very flexible in terms of the collateral provided.

Invest in the future of Frankencoin - FPS tokens

Frankencoin pool shares (FPS) are shares like a kind of equity in the Frankencoin system. As an FPS holder, you are similar to a shareholder in a bank. If the Frankencoin system makes a profit through fees or liquidations, the price of the pool shares is automatically adjusted upwards. If risks occur and the reserve pool suffers a loss, the value also falls. They can be re-minted at any time and redeemed after a minimum holding period of three months in accordance with the smart contract conditions. Over time, the tokens in the reserve pool that are not moved accumulate votes. Shareholders with at least 3% of the votes receive a veto right.

DFX stellt das Engagement für die DeFiChain ganzheitlich ein. Dies beinhaltet neben der bereits seit Monaten ausgesetzten Kommunikation, die aus den App Stores bereits entfernte DFX DeFiChain Wallet und insbesondere ab sofort die FIAT On-Ramp und voraussichtlich zum 31.12.2023 auch die Fiat Off-Ramp.

Die DeFiChain war für uns ein Projekt, mit dem klaren Ziel eine wirklich dezentrale Community und Blockchain aufzubauen. An diese Vision haben wir ehrlich geglaubt und mit allen Kräften versucht, daran mitzuarbeiten. Leider haben wir dieses Ziel unserer Meinung nach nicht erreicht und sehen aktuell keine Chance, dieses Ziel erreichen zu können. Neben Cake gibt es lediglich LOCK und DFX auf dem Base Layer und leider keine weiteren signifikanten Unternehmen, welche erfolgreich etwas aufgebaut haben. Dadurch ist unserer Meinung nach die Vision einer wirklich dezentralen DeFi Blockchain mit einem vielfältigen Ökosystem nicht realistisch.

Diese Entscheidung folgt einem langen Entscheidungsprozess und ist dem Team nicht leicht gefallen. Die DeFiChain war die Basis, auf der sich das Team gefunden hatte. Mit viel Fleiß und Einsatz wurde ein sehr gutes Produkt für unsere Kunden geschaffen. Die ausschließlich positiven Rückmeldungen zum Service von DFX waren dabei stets unser Antrieb und wir sind sehr dankbar für das uns entgegengebrachte Vertrauen.

Wie bereits kommuniziert, fokussiert sich DFX weiterhin darauf, ein herausragendes Kauf- und Verkaufserlebnis als Payment Provider für den Kryptospace zu schaffen und fokussiert sich auf Bitcoin, Lightning und Ethereum, sowie Layer 2 Lösungen.

Die DFX DeFiChain Wallet wird für alle bestehenden Nutzer, welche die App bereits installiert haben, weiterhin zur Verfügung stehen, da es sich um eine non-custodial App handelt, die vom Nutzer selbst kontrolliert wird. Die Off-Ramp Dienstleistung von DFX wird voraussichtlich bis Jahresende aktiviert bleiben. Die On-Ramp für die DeFiChain wird ab sofort deaktiviert. Etwaige getätigte Käufe werden automatisch retourniert.

LOCK ist als eigenständiges Unternehmen nicht von dieser Entscheidung betroffen. Kunden von LOCK können auch ohne DFX mittels der JellyWallet jederzeit auf ihre Funds zugreifen.

DFX hat und hatte zu keiner Zeit geschäftliche Verbindungen zu CakeDeFi.

Bitte beachte, dass weder DFX noch die DFX-Mitarbeiter jemals nach deiner Seed Phrase fragen würden. Teile diesen niemals mit einer dritten Person.

DFX is holistically discontinuing its commitment to DeFiChain. This includes, in addition to the communication already suspended for months, the DFX DeFiChain Wallet already removed from the App Stores and, in particular, as of now, the FIAT On-Ramp and, probably as of December 31, 2023, the Fiat Off-Ramp.

DeFiChain was a project for us with the clear goal of building a truly decentralized community and blockchain. We honestly believed in this vision and tried our best to work towards it. Unfortunately, in our opinion, we have not achieved this goal and currently see no chance of being able to achieve it. Besides Cake, there are only LOCK and DFX on the base layer and unfortunately no other significant companies that have successfully built something. This, in our opinion, makes the vision of a truly decentralized DeFi Blockchain with a diverse ecosystem not realistic.

This decision follows a long decision process and has not been easy for the team. The DeFiChain was the base on which the team had found each other. With a lot of hard work and dedication, a very good product was created for our customers. The exclusively positive feedback on DFX's service has always been our driving force and we are very grateful for the trust placed in us.

As previously communicated, DFX continues to focus on creating an outstanding buying and selling experience as a payment provider for the cryptospace, focusing on Bitcoin, Lightning and Ethereum, as well as Layer 2 solutions.

The DFX DeFiChain wallet will continue to be available to all existing users who have already installed the app, as it is a non-custodial app controlled by the user. DFX's off-ramp service is expected to remain enabled through the end of the year. On-ramp for DeFiChain will be disabled effective immediately. Any purchases made will be automatically returned.

LOCK, as an independent company, is not affected by this decision. Customers of LOCK can still access their funds at any time without DFX using the JellyWallet.

DFX does not have and has never had any business relationship with CakeDeFi.
