The city&#39;s relentless energy perfectly complements my current pursuit for intensity. When everyone around you is operating at high frequency, it naturally speeds up your own pace.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">What I love most about being here is the constant stream of ideas, inspiration, and opportunities that make work feel less like work. It&#39;s more like surfing a never-ending wave of creativity and ambition.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">But I&#39;m also mindful of the downsides. NYC&#39;s intensity can reinforce my tendency to blur work-life boundaries (you know me), and I&#39;ve noticed that feeling of &quot;not doing enough&quot; when surrounded by so many driven people. I&#39;m also realizing how much harder it is to nurture existing relationships with friends and family back in Portugal when immersed in this environment.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><a class="link" href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Environment+shapes+behavior+more+than+willpower+does.+Choose+places+and+people+that+naturally+pull+you+toward+your+goals+rather+than+relying+on+discipline+alone.&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><b>Takeaway</b></a>: Environment shapes behavior more than willpower does. Choose places and people that naturally pull you toward your goals rather than relying on discipline alone. </p><hr class="content_break"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="finding-my-rhythm">Finding My Rhythm 🥊</h2><div class="image"><img alt="" class="image__image" style="" src="https://media.beehiiv.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=scale-down,format=auto,onerror=redirect,quality=80/uploads/asset/file/6b56c47e-6058-4425-aedf-80f7a6a0fff9/muaythai.jpg?t=1744570425"/><div class="image__source"><span class="image__source_text"><p>In Thailand, back in December 2024</p></span></div></div><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">My first 3 months of 2025 have been defined by two main focuses: intense building at Talent Protocol and an equally intense commitment to exercising.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">After falling in love with Muay Thai in Thailand last December, I brought that passion back to Lisbon in January and continued practicing here in New York. Between Muay Thai sessions, basketball games, and some (less fun) gym workouts, physical training has become almost as much a priority as work itself.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">This &quot;work hard, train hard&quot; rhythm has been demanding but energizing. I&#39;ve managed to maintain a consistent 4x weekly workout schedule throughout Q1 - something I&#39;m genuinely proud of! I&#39;m finding that physical discipline enhances mental focus, while professional intensity drives me to push harder physically. Consistency in one area reinforces discipline in others.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I&#39;m finally learning the wisdom of &quot;pick an athletic activity to get addicted to&quot; rather than forcing myself to do workouts I barely tolerate. Basketball and Muay Thai aren&#39;t just exercise - they&#39;re fun.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><a class="link" href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Don%27t+force+yourself+to+exercise+in+ways+you+hate.+Find+the+physical+activities+that+make+you+lose+track+of+time%2C+and+consistency+will+follow+without+struggle.&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Takeaway</a>: Don&#39;t force yourself to exercise in ways you hate. Find the physical activities that make you lose track of time, and consistency will follow without struggle.</p><hr class="content_break"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="getting-my-hands-dirty-again">Getting My Hands Dirty Again 💻</h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">One of the most fulfilling developments this quarter has been getting back to (AI-assisted of course) coding and building software myself. I&#39;ve been creating prototypes both for Talent Protocol and some side projects, and I&#39;m discovering that same flow state I used to experience with DJing or film editing as a teenager - losing track of time and forgetting to eat!</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Coding gives me that direct line from idea to implementation without the signal loss that happens when translating ideas to specs, specs to designs, and designs to code. When everyone on the team can ship code (even if it&#39;s not perfect), we eliminate much of the misalignment and communication gaps.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">A good example of this new reality is Builder Rewards (check the tweet below). Instead of writing a traditional brief or PRD, I built <a class="link" href="https://v0-builder-rewards-frame-t5eq8x.vercel.app/?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">this prototype</a> to share my vision with the team.</p><blockquote align="center" class="twitter-tweet"><a href="https://twitter.com/0xmacedo/status/1906802536541266173?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc"><p> Twitter tweet </p></a></blockquote><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><a class="link" href="https://x.com/intent/post?text=If+you%27re+not+sure+what+to+do%2C+just+do+something.+Action+produces+information.&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Takeaway</a>: If you&#39;re not sure what to do, just do something. Action produces information.</p><hr class="content_break"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="building-deeper-connections">Building Deeper Connections 🍽️</h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">To balance all the intensity, I&#39;ve launched something I&#39;m really excited about: Builders Table - intimate dinners where 6-8 carefully selected people bring one problem each (related to building products or businesses) to discuss together.</p><blockquote align="center" class="twitter-tweet"><a href="https://twitter.com/0xmacedo/status/1897599557531562354?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc"><p> Twitter tweet </p></a></blockquote><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I&#39;ve already hosted editions in Denver and NYC, with another planned for April 30th in New York. The format is simple: small table, hungry participants, spicy conversations. Doing this reminded me how much I miss having smaller, deeper conversations.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><a class="link" href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Small+groups+create+big+conversations.+Six+to+eight+people+is+the+sweet+spot+where+everyone+can+contribute+and+nobody+can+hide.&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Takeaway</a>:<b> </b>Small groups create big conversations. Six to eight people is the sweet spot where everyone can contribute and nobody can hide.</p><hr class="content_break"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="caffeine-conundrum">Caffeine Conundrum ☕</h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">On the challenges front, I&#39;m still wrestling with my relationship with caffeine. I love coffee&#39;s taste but increasingly hate its effects - maybe because I&#39;m getting older or just more aware of how it impacts me. Since I&#39;m naturally high-energy in the mornings anyway, I&#39;ve mostly switched to decaf, though I slip occasionally and am quickly reminded why I made the switch!</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><a class="link" href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Your+body%27s+responses+change+over+time.+Something+that+worked+for+years+%28like+caffeine%29+might+need+rethinking.+Listen+when+your+body+whispers+so+it+doesn%27t+have+to+scream.&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=finding-my-rhythm-in-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Takeaway</a>: Your body&#39;s responses change over time. Something that worked for years (like caffeine) might need rethinking. Listen when your body whispers so it doesn&#39;t have to scream.</p><hr class="content_break"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="looking-ahead-to-q-2">Looking Ahead to Q2 🌱</h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">For the next quarter, I&#39;m focusing on two main themes:</p><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><b>Ship more software</b> - both personal projects and for Talent Protocol. Getting even more technical and relying less on others to implement my ideas.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><b>Make the most of my NYC time</b> - a new city is a great excuse to spend more time away from screens. Doing more photography, walking the city, and connecting more deeply with others through dinners and social events.</p></li></ol><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">If you find yourself in New York this spring, please reach out! I&#39;d love to grab coffee (decaf for me), play some basketball, or just wander through the city together.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">What about you? What&#39;s been keeping you energized lately? I&#39;d love to hear about your Q1 highlights and Q2 goals.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Your superfriend,<br>Filipe</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">P.S. Which of the takeaways resonated most with you? I&#39;d love to know!</p></div><div class='beehiiv__footer'><br class='beehiiv__footer__break'><hr class='beehiiv__footer__line'><a target="_blank" class="beehiiv__footer_link" style="text-align: center;" href="https://www.beehiiv.com/?utm_campaign=fcc65a0f-04ff-4808-a611-eda3e38418e2&utm_medium=post_rss&utm_source=superfriends">Powered by beehiiv</a></div></div>

</style><div class='beehiiv__body'><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">At some point in your life, work on a startup, or at least a thing driven by a small group. Small group energy is amazing.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Doing things is energizing, wasting time is depressing. You don’t need that much ‘rest’.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Doing is contagious.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Less long-term planning, more short-term learning. Fast iterations beat detailed roadmaps.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">“A plan is just a guess you wrote down.” - <a class="link" href="https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/planning-guessing-jason-fried/?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=24-things-i-learned-in-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Jason Fried</a></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">After 3.5 years building Talent, I still enjoy Mondays. If you find yourself dreading Mondays, quit.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The more you work on something, the more boring and routine it becomes. To keep my enthusiasm and commitment to <a class="link" href="https://talentprotocol.com/?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=24-things-i-learned-in-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Talent Protocol</a>, I often try to find new things to be excited about. For Q1 2025, it is rebuilding our app around the Builder Score, our most successful idea to date.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">To make something good, just do it. To make something great, just redo it.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Problems never end. Building is solving problems. The more successful you are, the bigger your problems will be. A business is a problem solving machine.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I identify with the word “builder” more than “creator”. Creator sounds more like a divine ability to make something out of nothing. It also feels more individual and lonely, somehow. Building is more about putting existing pieces together in novel ways. It’s about joint effort, human collaboration and remix culture.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Marketing is about simple stories, told a thousand times. Work hard on a strong one liner, and repeat that message all the time. Here’s a new one liner for Talent Protocol: <i>reach and reward the best builders, based on verified reputation data.</i></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I’m good at building but terrible at sales. So, for me, the best way to sell is to build. And the best way to lead is to lead by example. Double down on my strengths instead of trying to compensate for my weaknesses.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Most things don’t actually take much time, procrastination and overthinking does.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">On hiring: don’t worry about how much the candidate knows, but how much they want to know.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Assume every decision you make will be public one day.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">“It’s never as good as it seems, it’s never as bad as it seems. Somewhere in between lies reality”, a quote often attributed to Lou Holtz, a legendary American football coach.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Walking is an underrated exercise.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">After spending time in NYC this year, I learned that environment matters a lot. Move to where the action is. Put yourself in environments where you have to perform at your best. If you can get by being average, you probably will.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">There is some wisdom in “fake it till you make it”.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Brand isn&#39;t corporate anymore. It&#39;s personal. People trust Elon more than Tesla. Mark more than Meta. And even Trump more than his companies.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Success is a lot about being patient, persistent, and optimistic. Consistency compounds over time.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">With <a class="link" href="https://build.top/?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=24-things-i-learned-in-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BUILD</a> I learned to set clear expectations, but avoid making promises. Always underpromise and overdeliver.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Don’t “slow down” as you get older, speed up. Lean into changes, be curious about new things. Most people seem to go the other way.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The best way to unblock yourself is to think of literally everything as just an experiment.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">[bonus lesson] I’m barely aware of my luck and privilege. Although I feel a long way from “making it”, I’m already comfortably within the top 1% globally, based on my annual income.</p></li></ol><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><h1 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="and-heres-my-2024-in-20-pics">and here’s my 2024 in 20 pics</h1><blockquote align="center" class="instagram-media"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DEQHCEFtRGN/?igsh=MWpiaTF5Y2lzcHUycg%3D%3D&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=24-things-i-learned-in-2024"><p dir="ltr" lang="en"> Instagram post </p></a></blockquote></div><div class='beehiiv__footer'><br class='beehiiv__footer__break'><hr class='beehiiv__footer__line'><a target="_blank" class="beehiiv__footer_link" style="text-align: center;" href="https://www.beehiiv.com/?utm_campaign=8926dfd8-2b99-4e77-b089-11b2897177e0&utm_medium=post_rss&utm_source=superfriends">Powered by beehiiv</a></div></div>

There’s a dark side to maximizing everything.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">In most situations, best is an illusion. The best decision is impossible to predict, sometimes even after the fact. If best doesn’t exist, why do we keep fooling ourselves trying to optimize for it? Why don’d we try to learn to optimize for good instead of always aiming for the absolute best?</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I’ve realized lately that <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">deciding fast makes me happier than actually making the best decision</span>. The best strategy for me seems to be to use my intuition to make a fast decision, and whenever I find something better I can upgrade that decision. <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">Optimize for good, and iterate my way to best</span>, if I have the change. If not, good is enough.</p><hr class="content_break"><h4 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="jiujitsu-is-chess-with-your-body">Jiu-jitsu is chess with your body. ♟️🥋<b> </b></h4><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">While in Hong Kong, last October, I had the chance to try Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) during 3 weeks with my friend Pedro.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The first thing that came to mind, was that <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">BJJ feels like playing chess, but your body parts are the board pieces</span>. In both games players attempt to outsmart their opponents and get to the point where escape is impossible. Players have to memorize different defensive and offensive techniques and sequences. It requires a lot of strategy and predicting what will happen moves ahead.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Other cool things that I experienced in BJJ include:</p><ul><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Strength and brute force don’t matter much; it’s all about efficiency, leverage and awareness.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The power of rituals, that helped me leave everything outside the mat.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Mutual respect and respect for people with more experience.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It doesn’t matter who you are outside; your job, wealth or status.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i>&quot;There is no losing in jiu jitsu. While Western dragons are often portrayed as menacing, hoarding treasure, and breathing fire, Eastern dragons are generally seen as kind, wise, and associated with life-giving water.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">This trip, and all that I learned, was so memorable that I decided to do a new tattoo with my own dragon, coming out of a tea pot.</p><blockquote align="center" class="instagram-media"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CzBhcBkp97E/?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=january-update"><p dir="ltr" lang="en"> Instagram post </p></a></blockquote><hr class="content_break"><div class="section" style="background-color:transparent;margin:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;padding:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">⭐️ Recommendations</h2><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">A book <span style="font-family:Apple Color Emoji, Segoe UI Emoji, NotoColorEmoji, Noto Color Emoji, Segoe UI Symbol, Android Emoji, EmojiSymbols;font-size:1em;">📚</span> <a class="link" href="https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/41160292?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=january-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Exhalation: Stories</a>, by Ted Chiang. Things starting derailing last summer. I was first late in July, so I merged July and August into one newsletter. Then came my trip to Asia in September and October, so these 2 newsletters also got delayed. Before I knew it it was December, so I thought about making a Fall newsletter compiling 3 months. I started it, but never finished it. I was blocked with a backlog of random, unstructured thoughts piling up. But I’ve decided to let that go. I published <a class="link" href="https://superfriends.beehiiv.com/p/37-lessons-2023?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=january-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">37 things I learned in 2023</a>, and am now trying to get back to monthly newsletters.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">I’m trying to do too much at once, again</span>. Trying to focus on too many things is usually a recipe for failure and poor execution. Trying to do to much makes me feel like losing control, which causes me to work even more, in an attempt to regain control. More work leads to less exercise and less relaxing/social moments, which leads to poor sleep and more stress and anxiety. Journaling and meditation are a good way to break these cycles, but I haven’t been able to make them part of my routine just yet.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Travelling and jetlag always takes a huge toll on my sleep. Aim for better.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Going to bed early is hard but it’s the key factor for me to get good sleep. My hack is setting an alarm clock to go to bed, instead of an alarm to wake up. </p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Meetings are for making decisions, not for sharing updates.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I love building products and learning new things. Being in crypto offers lots of opportunities to do both. And also brings the possibility for asymmetric returns.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Any choice is better than no choice.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I use the clock timer on my phone to be more focused at work. It’s easier to commit to no distractions during a predefined time slot. </p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">A great product is much more than just combining design and tech.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Do at least 1 week of time-off to retrospect & recover after 3 months of intense work.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">An hour before 9 is worth 2 after 5.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Social media is a place to perform, not a place to connect.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Capitalism is not just an economic system, it’s also a social philosophy that says a person is as valuable as their output.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The best pressure test of our own thinking is to write it down. If it only makes sense in your own head, it’s probably not a great idea. If it can be read aloud and easily understood, it’s probably a better idea. Writing gives poor thinking nowhere to hide.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Leadership is not making everyone happy today, it’s the ability to get us to a place where more of us will be proud to be in the future.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Being a founder is like being a parent. No one likes being the bad guy, but good parents know they need to do it.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Culture = wanted behaviors you celebrate - unwanted behaviors you tolerate.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Speculation can also be seen as an irrational shared belief in a better potential future. That’s why speculative bubbles can bring energy, talent, money and motivation to a space. Yes, bubbles are often overinflated, but once the dust settles the foundational projects continue on, adding real value. This is how I feel about crypto.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Bad times create strong founders, and strong founders create good times.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It’s OK to feel hungry sometimes. Food cravings are normal. They are not real hunger. If you’re just slightly hungry, go for a walk or drink a cup of tea. We should all eat way less. Not to lose weight, but to live longer.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Optimists are the gas, pessimists are the breaks. Breaks are important, but they won’t lead you anywhere. Too much breaking and you won’t move. That’s why pessimists rarely make history. Optimists are the ones that shape our future.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It’s not the aesthetics but the context that makes art interesting. AI will never have our pain and suffering, and thus they will never have a story behind their art. </p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Too many people care more about being right than being happy.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Schools are good at measuring intelligence but not great at measuring passion, endurance, and character, which tend to be more important than intelligence in the long run.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The most important communication skill is knowing when to shut up.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Don&#39;t feel like you have to build things that will become startups. That&#39;s premature optimization. Just build things.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">There’s a <a class="link" href="https://guide.michelin.com/sg/en/singapore-region/singapore/restaurant/hill-street-tai-hwa-pork-noodle?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=37-things-i-learned-in-2023" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">food stall</a> in Singapore with a Michelin star.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Startups are a game of who can survive the longest. If you can just not die, then you stand a good chance of success. </p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Not feeling hungover feels better than being drunk (at least after 35).</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">For most decisions you don&#39;t need more information, you need more courage.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Travel is most valuable as a finite experience. If you’re always traveling, you stop getting the benefits from it. </p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Bragging has become an implicit sign of low status. The more you flex the less cool you are. Counter-signaling status is the new ultimate flex. Just think of billionaires wearing hoodies.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Work, Love, Friends, Family, Health, Hobbies. Choose 3.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Good design is as little design as possible.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">User feedback is usually right about what’s wrong, but wrong about how to fix it.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">When you feel overwhelmed by the number of problems in your organization, the optimal solution is not to hire more, but to do less. Or the artist <a class="link" href="https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/10/03/mile-a-minute-plywood-painter-steve-keene-has-a-retrospective?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=july-august-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Steve Keene</a>, that loves <i>“the idea of doing sixty paintings a day, more than the idea of trying to make one that I think is perfect.”</i> </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">As May Sarton&#39;s wisely said, <i>&quot;A talent grows by being used, and withers if it is not used. Closing the gap between expectation and reality can be painful, but it has to be done sooner or later. The fact is that millions of young people would like to write, but what they dream of is the published book, often skipping over the months and years of very hard work necessary to achieve that end...&quot;</i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It&#39;s a call to action for all of us. Instead of waiting for the perfect moment of inspiration, it&#39;s about diving in, with no expectations, day after day. As James Clear succinctly puts it, <i>&quot; Most of the time you don&#39;t need more information, you need more courage.&quot;</i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">In the realm of creation, whether you&#39;re a writer, artist, or entrepreneur, it&#39;s tempting to chase the highs of creativity. But it&#39;s the steady drumbeat of consistency that truly shapes our journey. It&#39;s about understanding that every stroke, every word, and every effort, no matter how small, contributes to the larger tapestry of our work. So, as we forge ahead, let&#39;s champion consistency as our trusted ally in the creative process.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><hr class="content_break"><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">⭐️ Recommendations</h2><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">📚️ <a class="link" href="https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/20518872?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=july-august-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><b>3 Body Problem</b></a>. The initial chapters offer a fascinating glimpse into China’s Cultural Revolution, setting a profound backdrop. As the story unfolds, it morphs into a riveting sci-fi thriller, making it a definite page-turner. That said, I felt the characters were a bit uni-dimensional. It&#39;s a tale of friends, close to love but never crossing that line, immersed in video game design. I was captivated by its engaging narrative, especially as an 80s-born techie. The LA setting also evoked nostalgia, given the months that I spent there in the past 2 years. However, their friendship sometimes felt too toxic, leaving me wondering what the core message was. But the real key to success might be <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">consistency</span>. Showing up every day, doing the work, and making incremental progress. It&#39;s not as glamorous as pulling all-nighters or launching features at breakneck speed, but it&#39;s often more sustainable and effective in the long run. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Do less, do it well, and be consistent.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><hr class="content_break"><div class="section" style="background-color:transparent;margin:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;padding:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">☯️ The Founder’s Dilemma </h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Being a founder requires constant calibration between arrogance and humility, optimism and pessimism. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The optimism is necessary to inspire and motivate others, to sell the vision and potential of the startup. The pessimism, on the other hand, is crucial for identifying potential pitfalls and planning for them. Founders also need the arrogance to believe they have something important to say, but the humility to know most people won’t care. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It&#39;s a delicate dance between believing in the potential of your idea and being brutally honest about the challenges that lie ahead. You need to be <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">confident enough to launch, humble enough to last</span>. That’s the founder’s dilemma.</p></div><div class="section" style="background-color:transparent;margin:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;padding:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">🦦 Redefining Productivity: The Role of Rest and Play</h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">In our obsessive quest for productivity, we often overlook the importance of rest and play. Play is not just about relaxation or entertainment, it&#39;s also a powerful tool for creativity. It allows us to explore new ideas, experiment with different approaches, and see things from a fresh perspective.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">The most productive hour of your day might not look like work at all</span>. It could be a walk in the park, a quiet moment on the couch, or a hot shower. These are the moments when our minds are free to wander, explore, and connect dots in ways that structured thinking can&#39;t. Embracing these moments of &#39;<span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">productive laziness</span>&#39; can lead to breakthroughs and innovative ideas.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">So, if rest and play can improve your output, how will you incorporate more of it into your routine? </p></div><div class="section" style="background-color:transparent;margin:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;padding:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">☯️ Building in Public: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly</h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Building in public is a popular trend, especially in web3. It&#39;s about transparency, community, and learning in the open. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">But it&#39;s not just about sharing the wins and the progress, it&#39;s also about sharing the challenges, the failures, and the uncertainties. The tweet below was eye-opening to me.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Building in public is also not just about granting access permissions to the information, it&#39;s also about making your information easy to find and repeating the message frequently.</p><blockquote align="center" class="twitter-tweet"><a href="https://twitter.com/helloitsolly/status/1660956865457541122?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=june-update"><p> Twitter tweet </p></a></blockquote></div><div class="section" style="background-color:transparent;margin:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;padding:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">⭐️ Recommendations</h2><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">🎬️ <a class="link" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjgL7Pumb4Q&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=june-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Chimp Empire</a>, a nature documentary about the largest group of chimpanzees ever discovered that feels like a . This makes sense, since for most of history, workers have held one profession throughout their careers. People’s names even came from their crafts: Smith for blacksmiths, Taylor for tailors, Webb for weavers, Ward for watchmen (and the more obvious Baker, Cook, Carpenter). </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">But having multiple jobs and diverse careers is becoming the new normal. Which means you either tie your identity to something unrelated to work (which doesn’t make much sense in my personal case) or you adopt a more flexible and fluid identity. And fluid identities mean frequent identity updates.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">So here’s my most recent identity update: <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">I’m a creative </span><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;"><span style="text-decoration:line-through;">marketer</span></span><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;"> builder</span> (more on this below). I’m also an async-first founder, house music DJ, basketball player, film fan, minimalist traveler, tea drinker, and sober curious. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">And here’s a fun meme about my previous identity and occupation in the agency world 👇️ </p><div class="image"><img alt="" class="image__image" style="" src="https://media.beehiiv.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=scale-down,format=auto,onerror=redirect,quality=80/uploads/asset/file/b99c81df-57c0-48c4-9854-ba3500c60fc2/meme.jpg"/></div><hr class="content_break"><div class="section" style="background-color:transparent;margin:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;padding:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">🦉Ideas </h2><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">1️⃣ <b>Social media is a place to perform, not a place to connect. </b></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Authentic conversations are hard to come by in the current social media landscape. I find it difficult to stay in touch with the friends I really care about (this is one of the reasons for writing this newsletter).</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Most of <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">the social internet is about connecting people to brands and influencers, not with their friends</span>. Social platforms shifted from helping us foster friendships to bombarding us with ads, misinformation and the content equivalent of methamphetamine. We’re more connected, yet more isolated than ever.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The Internet we’ve built rewards noisy, marketable people, not people doing good things quietly. We need <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">better spaces where we can find depth, kindness and opportunities for serendipity</span>. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">A recent trend I noticed is that the people I find most interesting on social media are using it as a sort of diary/note to self, not broadcasting to an audience.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">2️⃣ <b>Pessimists don’t make history. Optimists are the ones that shape our future.</b><b> </b>🌞</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">Optimists are the gas, pessimists are the breaks</span>. Breaks are important, but they won’t lead you anywhere. Too much breaks and you won’t move.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It’s much harder to imagine how things can work than how things can break down. Entropy and disorder are the natural way of things. Complicated things are unlikely to work. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">But there’s a difference between <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">active optimism</span> (doing the work to make things better) and <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">passive optimism</span> (just waiting for things to get better).</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">Being an active optimist is having courage</span>. Once you get your courage up and believe that you can do important problems, then you can. If you think you can&#39;t, almost surely you are not going to.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">3️⃣ <b>10 years or 1 hour.</b><b> Those are the two time frames worth prioritizing. ⏳</b></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">10 years is shorthand for thinking longer-term than nearly everyone else and <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">doing things that are really ambitious or meaningful</span>. Most of the deeply meaningful things in life require long time horizons: building a business, cultivating a happy marriage, growing a family, getting in the best shape of your life, etc.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">How do you work toward the 10-year things? In 1 hour increments. 1 hour is shorthand for <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">doing things that can be accomplished from start to finish in a single session</span> like a good workout, a good writing session, reading a chapter of a book, going on a fun date, etc. The key is that you finish with something accomplished, not with half-work still waiting to be completed.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">If you <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">spend 1 hour working toward a 10-year project</span>—and you repeat this day after day—you&#39;re going to end up living a lovely life.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Source: <a class="link" href="https://jamesclear.com/3-2-1/may-11-2023?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=may-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">James Clear</a></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p></div><div class="section" style="background-color:transparent;margin:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;padding:0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">⭐️ Recommendations</h2><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">🎬️ I loved <a class="link" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Euy4Yu6B3nU&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=may-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">AIR</a> because: basketball is my sport, Nike is my brand, marketing is my career and 80s is my decade. Here’s a few thoughts on nomading </b>🎒</p><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">What’s your balance between security/adventure and familiarity/novelty? I’m a <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">novelty junky</span> so nomading works for me.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It’s good to <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">be near strangers daily</span>. Opportunities (all kinds) come from other people. So meet as many you can.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I’m an <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">avid collector of people and people-fragments</span>. Event the shortest friendships bring me inspiration and a feeling of human connection, that we so often lack. Some people don’t see the point in making new friends that you’ll never see again, but I’m the opposite.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Traveling is great for learning, perspective and inspiration. But <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">terrible for consistency</span>, productivity and keeping routines.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Nomading <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">teaches you to value the essentials</span>, and how to live with less. Every time you get something new, you have to decide what to keep and what to leave.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Being a nomad will probably <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">destroy your style</span>. It reduces your wardrobe to the minimum.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">Slow traveling</span> (spending more time in each place) can be a more sustainable option. Also going to smaller, less touristic cities.</p></li></ol><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">2️⃣ <b>A great product is much more than just design and tech </b>💯</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Sounds obvious, but it didn’t stop me from falling into that trap. At Talent Protocol we’ve been making less and less progress on product. We’re slow to ship new features and are not really making big product leaps. The reason? We’re good at design and development, but we currently suck at the rest. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Our <a class="link" href="https://www.talentprotocol.com/username?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=april-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">.tal username</a> idea is a great example of lack of product strategy and user research. I still believe, at a deep level, that the future is going to be an amazing, exhilarating ride.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The key factors for my optimism were:</p><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">spending a week in Los Angeles with Alex Poscente, the most energizing person I know;</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">spending two weeks in Rio de Janeiro, probably the world’s happiest and most positive city;</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">spending time with our <a class="link" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvfEsEUM3n0&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=march-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Talent House</a> scholars, 20 bright and inspiring young builders.</p></li></ol><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It’s so much easier to be a cynic these days. <br>Instead try to be a positive influence for someone.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">At a time when belief is at an all time low, having even a small group of believers can be life-changing for some creators and builders. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">This is our main goal at Talent Protocol by the way: <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">creating the tools and incentives that allow anyone, anywhere to build their support network</span>. Check the <a class="link" href="https://bit.ly/newdecktalent?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=march-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">new deck</a> I wrote this month. I’m not a big fan of running and traveling made it hard to have a workout routine. But in 2023 that changed completely. So far I did a +30min workout in 66 out of 91 days. That’s ~5 days a week. So what’s my secret? </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">To me <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">the secret is convenience</span>: </p><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It doesn’t matter what type of exercise you do, it only matters that you do something. </p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Travel time matters. The gym or workout spot needs to be close and easily accessible. Ideally bikable or with car parking, and reachable in under 15min.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">It must be super easy to start the class or workout, and with few accessories or preparation required.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Comfort is not a detail. Great amenities make it desirable to go there often. Good showers, towels, and other seemingly unimportant details all add up to persuade to go.</p></li></ol><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">2️⃣ <b>IRL to innovate, URL to iterate.</b></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">There’s a lot of debate about the pros and cons of in-person vs remote work, but I recently found this simple framework that represents well how I feel about the topic. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Having spent 10 years in the ad world, I know first hand how the energy of being in the same room can have a multiplier effect on creativity and innovation. But, now at Talent Protocol, I also experience how a distributed and async team can be much more efficient and productive.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">If you’re trying to <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">go from 0 to 1, work in person</span>, if you nailed the idea, and are trying to <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">scale from 1 to 100, work remotely</span>. Also, use <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">sync time to make decisions</span>, and <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">async work to execute</span> and move fast towards a known goal.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">3️⃣<b> </b><b>Meeting rules we use at Talent Protocol:</b></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Let’s face it, meetings will hardly ever be exciting. <br>But they can be much more <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">effective</span>:</p><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Meetings are not for sharing updates. Meetings are for making decisions and clarify doubts or disagreements.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">No presentations or proposals during the meeting (record a video to watch before the call).</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">A shared doc with an agenda and topics (we use Notion); anyone can edit, add or even start answering the questions async.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Always have a moderator.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Meetings start exactly on time and end on time. Don’t wait for anyone.</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Join 5 minutes early to have some informal, social time.</p></li></ol></div><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;">⭐️ Recommendations</h2><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">🎵 <a class="link" href="https://open.spotify.com/track/02HUOQ4C6zD0NMXwFLzTbS?si=29daa3cb04c44d13&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=march-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Lustin U</a>, recommended by Tom. 🪩 </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">🎬️ <a class="link" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRFM7HQmkH0&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=march-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Polite Society</a>, screened at SXSW. I still sugar coat the message too much. Being a “good” person, liked by everyone, has been a core part of my identity until now, and with good results. But it might not be serving me that well anymore. <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">Time for an identity update?</span></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I’m an <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">ambivert</span>. I have both introversion and extroversion characteristics, and can flip into either depending on my mood, context, and goals. I need to be constantly balancing between my introvert and extrovert mode. But this month I attended too many events in a row (ETHDenver, SXSW, NFT LA, ETHRio, ETHSamba), and felt increasingly less social as time went on. By the end of the month was practically avoiding people instead of starting conversations, which I normally enjoy. I need to <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">recharge my social batteries</span>.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">Strategy is a commodity, execution is an art.</span> I’m good at strategy, ideas and solo execution. Both the one that works best for me and the one we want to implement at Talent Protocol. More on this below.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">For me success can be boiled down to <span style="background-color:#fbf28c;">having the freedom to work on what inspires you, and the flexibility to work when you’re more motivated</span>. </p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">On another note, I tried <b><a class="link" href="https://liquiddeath.com/?utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=february-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Liquid Death</a></b> for the first time this month. The brand strategy is pretty incredible. The product is just water in a can, but the brand makes it so interesting. At first glance, it looks like some new craft beer (which is interesting for people that like to go out without drinking, like me). The brand is unexpected and entertaining. It’s polarizing and evokes strong emotions. It’s clearly not trying to please everybody. And that’s why it has so many fans and is growing like no other beverage (one of the <a class="link" href="https://twitter.com/austin_rief/status/1577081996794204161?lang=en&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=february-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">fastest selling of all time</a>).</p><div class="image"><img alt="" class="image__image" style="" src="https://media.beehiiv.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=scale-down,format=auto,onerror=redirect,quality=80/uploads/asset/file/5041b53e-73ef-4103-949a-cafe719b5f86/image.png"/></div><hr class="content_break"><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;"><b>🦉</b><b>3 Ideas </b></h2><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><b>Remote work and distributed work are not the same thing. </b>🌐 </p><ul><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Remote assumes there’s a center, and some people are &quot;remote&quot; from it. Progress beats perfection. ⚡</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">The combination of super productive early mornings, very honest conversations with my co-founders and a week surrounded by the smartest people at ETHDenver, resulted in a<b> big leap for Talent Protocol’s vision and product</b> (coming soon). 🌱</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">I <b>exercised almost everyday</b> this month. I know that my most valuable hours are the first ones, but I still couldn’t avoid getting lost in emails, messages or minor tasks. In some days I was very productive between 7am and 9am, even though I didn’t sleep much. I should start getting up earlier, which means going to bed earlier too (because I no longer use an alarm clock to wake up). ⏰</p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">This month I asked myself: <b>why do I watch football?</b> Watching my team (Sporting) costs me time and peace of mind, without giving me much in return. The energy of the game, and all that surrounds it, has little to do with me or my values. The only benefit is the social aspect of sharing that moment, but I end up watching most games alone. So I decided to refocus my attention on F1 and NBA playoffs. Since I don’t have a favorite team it’s all entertainment, no anxiety. 🏎️ </p></li><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><b>Jet lag hit me hard</b>. I couldn’t get good sleep in Denver. I don’t know if it is the temperature, the dry air, the light or the altitude. Or all combined. I felt the same in the first week in CDMX last year. 🥴</p></li></ol><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"></p><h2 class="heading" style="text-align:left;"><b>⭐️</b><b> 3 Recommendations</b></h2><ol start="1"><li><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><b><a class="link" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EJGnU2AmV4&utm_source=superfriends.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=february-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Close</a></b>, a heartbreaking collision between childhood innocence and teenage angst.
