Welcome to March in Southern Vermont, or as we locals call it: "The Season of Four Hundred Outfits." We are currently in that magical window where you might need a snowblower at 8:00 AM, a light windbreaker by noon, and a pair of Muck boots for the 4:00 PM transition into the Great Muddy Unknown.

Lake Lowell State Park in Londonderry

This one can be hard to find(don’t listen to your GPS!) but it’s a great hike with a lot of variety. Lake views, forest trails, a revolutionary-war-era cemetery, and an abandoned summer camp, all at one park!

Find it off route 11, and don’t approach from Little Pond Road! Take Route 11 to Lowell Lake Road.

Join the Fun This Fourth of July in Wilmington, VT!

We tried this out in June and were very impressed with everything! Pictured: the smashburger, with a grill mark that looks like Vermont! We’re not sure if that was intentional.

We also tried the pulled pork tacos, and a rack of ribs. All delightful. The meat was tender and juicy, the sides (garlic parm fries, coleslaw) brought it all together! Worth a stop, worth a detour to try!

Finally got around to checking out this local staple. If you haven’t been yet, it’s well worth it. Homemade Connecticut style pizza, house-brewed beers, and a music venue to boot!

It has to be the best pizza in Wilmington overall, but if you want custom pies, I would recommend 19 South Main for that.

Valley Craft is no custom pies, no ingredient substitutions. Gotta respect the craft!

Snow Lake, dam, set to be removed to improve habitat

DOVER- Mount Snow’s former snowmaking pond, Snow Lake, and the dam that created it in 1961, are slated for removal in 2027. At an informational meeting Monday evening, project consultants and others involved in the planning process presented an overview of the project, its benefits, and what the newly-created flood plain will look after the completion of the project.
