He is now up to 12 home runs in 180 plate appearances this year and is supporting an impressive .250/.339/.577 slash line. Rosario also has 13 doubles and a triple.

Rosario became part of the Guardians organization last offseason in a trade from Chicago. Rosario has a highly athletic 6’1” frame with a big power stroke. The hit tool is a significant question mark, but there is no denying the power and even speed that Rosario brings.

The power is some of the best in the system as Rosario has a 90th percentile exit velocity north of 108 mph. The problem comes with strikeouts and contact as he has struck out in 34 percent of plate apperances this year with a 60 percent contact rate. It is worth noting that both of those things have steadily improved. -CC

Check out the rolling strikeout chart below courtesy of TJ Stats.

Owen Murphy, RHP, Atlanta Braves (AAA)

Stats: 6 IP/3 H/1 ER/1 BB/10 K

Why The Performance Matters:

Murphy’s start to the 2024 season was trending toward Murphy becoming one of the better pitching prospects in the game. Unfortunately, the start I was at in Asheville was his final of the year before Murphy blew out his arm, needing Tommy John. The sad thing is that the start was the best of his career, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts and no walks.

Coming back in late 2025, Murphy has carried success into 2026. He has pitched 63.1 innings between Double-A and Triple-A, but in 42.2 Triple-A starts, he has a 4.43 ERA with a 27 percent strikeout rate. Over the last five starts, the ERA is down to 3.41 in 29 innings with a 32 percent strikeout rate to just a six percent walk rate.

Murphy’s fastball velocity is up a tick, sitting 92-93 mph, but the outlier traits on it help to make it a successful offering. It features 18-19 inches of IVB, from a 5’5” release height. It is the release point and how well he hides it that makes it a pitch that misses bats, on top of the fact that he locates it well up in the zone. Murphy gets plenty of swings under the pitch.

He also features a slider and curveball, both being distinct pitches. The slider sits in the mid-80s with traditional shape, and it has a 21 percent swinging strike rate against. The curveball gets plenty of downward action, but also has a two-plane break, sitting near 80 mph. It gets negative 11 inches of IVB and 11 inches of sweeping action.

Murphy does flash a changeup on occasion, and it is a solid pitch, but he mostly uses it against lefties. The upper-80s cutter development has been useful for his arsenal. Murphy has the arsenal and command to be a solid SP4 type in the majors and he looks ready to make his debut soon. -CC

Join the Dynasty Dugout, Trusted by Thousands

Want to win in Dynasty Leagues? class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Stats: 5/7 HR

Why The Performance Matters:

In typical Complex League fashion, Arguelles got seven trips to the plate and was highly effective. Collecting five hits, including a homer, Arguelles accounted for half of the Rockies’ 22 runs, driving in six and scoring five times himself.

It seems like it is time for the 18-year-old prospect to head out to Single-A given the continued dominant performance. After last night’s game, Arguelles has six home runs, five triples, and four doubles on the ledger, while slashing .371/.468/.676. He has walked more often than he has struck out.

Sure, the .398 BABIP is going to be unsustainable. But, under the hood, things look good as well. We have seen Arguelles make strides with his exit velocity data, and right now, his 90th percentile exit velocity is right in line with MLB average.

From a contact perspective, the data is elite, running a zone contact rate of 90 percent with a respectable chase rate. I don’t see Arguelles being a huge home run threat given the batted ball angles, but if he is a high-contact profile that can hit 12-15 home runs in the Majors, there is some value to be had there. -CC

Wellington Aracena, RHP, Arizona Diamondbacks (A+)

Stats: 6 IP/3 H/0 ER/0 BB/9 K

Why The Performance Matters:

Aracena signed with the Mets back in 2022 and after spending 3.5 years with them, he was traded to the Orioles last year at the deadline. Then this offseason, Aracena was traded again to the Diamondbacks.

Finishing the 2025 season with 92 innings pitched, Aracena posted a 2.25 ERA paired with a 2.73 FIP with a 30 percent strikeout rate. This year has been up and down, but in eight of his eleven starts, Aracena has been awesome and last night was an example.

Aracena has an electric arsenal, starting with his four-seam fastball that averages north of 97 mph and has touched 101 this year. If you look at Baseball Savant, they have no clue how to classify his arsenal. He does flash a few changeups in the low-90s, but does not throw it often.

The four-seam does not have outlier traits outside of velocity, but Aracena touched 19 inches of IVB from a 6’3” release height at times. Aracena also mixes in a sinker with up to 19 inches of arm-side run.

Aracena’s mid-to-upper 80s slider has more depth, and he throws it in several variations. The low-90s cutter is a strong pitch. The low-80s curvaball has very strong depth as well.

Aracena is worth an upside shot in leagues that roster 300-500 prospects. -CC

Join the Dynasty Dugout, Trusted by Thousands

Want to win in Dynasty Leagues? style="text-align:left;">Willits was not a super popular top pick for fantasy, and while he was not the consensus top FYPD pick, he has certainly looked the part and continued to perform. Willits felt like one of the safer prospects in the 2025 draft, boasting a well-rounded skill set.

One of the younger players in the draft, Willits was originally part of the 2026 class before reclassifying and was just 17 years and 6 months on draft day. Willits has a simple operation in the box, using a small stride and a slight barrel tip before dropping his bat in the slot. He has quick hands and good power potential if he fills out the frame.

After a strong showing in Single-A in which he hit six home runs and stole 29 bases while slashing .300/.418/.500, Willits was promoted to High-A this week. He does not seem phased by the promotion, as Willits blasted two home runs last night in a three-hit performance.

The contact numbers look strong, and Willits is showing a respectable approach. The power is coming and even though the two home runs hit last nigtht were in Wilmington, they were impressive nonetheless. Eight home runs in your first 242 plate appearances this year as an 18-year-old will play.

A reminder once again that Willits should just be finishing his senior year of high school. What he has done this year is extremely impressive, and I only expect him to get better with time. Maybe he does not have the power you would like to see out of a top prospect, but he certainly could develop it. -CC

Jesus A. Castro, RHP, San Diego Padres (A)

Stats: 4.2 IP/3 H/0 ER/2 BB/12 K

Why The Performance Matters:

Castro moved way up my rankings in last month’s update, going from unranked to around 300 overall. I might have been too low on. While he has been featured in several articles, we do not have a full report about him on the site, so now seems fitting, especially with him dominating the way he did last night.

Striking out 12 batters over 4.2 scoreless innings lowered his ERA to 2.72 across 43 innings this year. Castro turned 19-year-old just three days ago and has been dominating Single-A pitching this year. He actually started the year kind of rough, but after the calendar turned to May, he has been a different arm.

Over those last six starts, Castro has a 1.55 ERA in 29 innings with a 29 percent strikeout rate to a 8.6 percent walk rate. Castro works his fastball in the 92-94 mph range, getting up to 96 mph at times with good arm-side run. Being of shorter stature and having a lower release point, Castro does a good job of creating a flat vertical approach angle at the top of the zone.

He also mixes in a slider that sits in the low-to-mid 80s with a solid movement profile. The changeup is still a developing pitch, but it does get good arm-side fade, sitting in the mid-to-upper 80s. For his age, Castro has a good feel for the offering. Castro will also feature a curveball at times.

Considering his age, Castro seems likely to continue to develop and move up rankings. It is a fun arsenal and profile and Castro has been highly effective on the mound, especially over the last six months. While I don’t see him being an ace, there is a solid starting pitcher profile here. -CC

Join the Dynasty Dugout, Trusted by Thousands

Want to win in Dynasty Leagues? Injuries have been the story of his career, and Diaw has played just one full season since he arrived at Loyola Marymount in 2022.

When on the field in 2025, Diaw slashed a strong .297/.450/.445 with four home runs and ten extra-base hits. Injuries limited him to just 169 plate appearances. Diaw has an impressive approach, rarely chasing, and has also made contact on over 80 percent of his swings in pro ball. Diaw is a good athlete, and even though the power is below average, he produces respectable batted ball angles.

While he has been quite solid at the plate this year, the two-home-run night doubled his total for the season, bringing it to four. Diaw is slashing a strong .288/.403/.429 with a 13 percent walk rate. Prior to the game, Diaw had a higher OBP than slugging percentage.

Is Diaw someone you want to jump on for fantasy purposes? Probably not, but he was the standout Minor League Hitter for the day. -CC

Tyson Hardin, RHP, Milwaukee Brewers

Stats: 6 IP/3 H/1 ER/0 BB/11 K

Why The Performance Matters:

Hardin had a 7.67 ERA with a 1.77 WHIP in Double-A before making his Triple-A debut. People panicked and cut Hardin in fantasy league, but if you looked deeper, it was just a couple of bad starts that killed him.

Since joining the Triple-A team, Hardin is looking like an ace. An eleven strikeout performance on Tuesday while allowing just three hits and one run brought his Triple-A ERA down to 1.59 across 28.1 innings to pair with a 28.4 percent strikeout rate.

Hardin's fastball is in the mid-90s, touching 97 mph, but it is the pitch's unique traits that make it great. The vertical approach angle is relatively flat from the release point and misses bats at the top of the zone. While the IVB is lower than we have seen in the past at 14 inches, he is also throwing from a sub-five-foot release height and a 21-degree arm angle.

The arsenal is fairly deep, as Hardin uses a cutter as his second-most-used offering, but he also mixes in a sinker to give him three fastball variations. The sweeper and changeup are both solid offerings.

Hardin's sweeper works in the low 80s with long horizontal movement, 13 inches on average. The upper-80s changeup has good horizontal separation the other way. The 65 percent strike rate is still good despite the walk rate being up.

It is probably too late to buy low on Hardin, but if you can, I would. The arm talent is clear and he should be in the Majors soon. -CC

Join the Dynasty Dugout, Trusted by Thousands

Want to win in Dynasty Leagues? The Dodgers signed Shelton as an undrafted free agent back in 2023, and Shelton has largely been uninspiring for most of his career. That has changed this season as Shelton hit four home runs to bring his total up to 17 on the year in just 220 plate appearances.

While the power is off the charts, Shelton is slashing .272/.359/.607, which looks good, but he currently has a 35.5 percent strikeout rate. It is quite the profile and if there were savant sliders for Shelton, it would beam red on one end but then ice blue on the other.

Shelton has some of the best exit velocity data in the minors. We are looking at a 90th percentile exit velocity that ranks 99th percentile for all hitters, and he pairs it with a hard-hit rate north of 56 percent. The problem is that the contact and approach are bad.

Shelton is running an overall contact rate of 57 percent and is making contact on pitches in the zone at an abysmal 67 percent clip. The approach is not much better either. While it has improved, the chase rate is still worse than average.

While Shelton is young, and the power is intruiging, he is a hard player to buy into outside of deeper leagues due to the scary contact skills. -CC

Briggs McKenzie, LHP, Atlanta Braves (A/A+)

Stats: 5 IP/1 H/0 ER/1 BB/8 K

Why The Performance Matters:

McKenzie looks quite good at the complex in his three starts there and was quickly promoted to Single-A Augusta. He dominated in his start over the weekend and the org had already sent him to High-A Rome.

The Braves used savings on day one in the 2025 MLB Draft to grab two prep players in Briggs McKenzie and Connor Essenburg on day two. McKenzie was one of the better left-handed pitching prospects in the prep ranks and has plenty of projection on his 6’2” frame. McKenzie got a bonus just shy of $3 million.

The fastball has ticked up and currently sits around 93 mph, topping at 95 mph. He throws from a tough arm-slot but has average extension, while creating with 11 inches of arm-side run on the sinker. McKenzie runs spin rates near 2600 rpm and gets a good arm-side run.

The sweeper is McKenzie’s best pitch at present, sitting around 80 mph. He spins it up to 2900 rpm, and the pitch has around a negative five-inch IVB with 16 inches of sweeping action. There is also a changeup in the profile as McKenzie gets a heavy fade, of up to 18 inches of fading action, sitting in the mid-to-upper 80s.

The Braves organization clearly saw what they liked as McKenzie generated 11 whiffs and had a 38 percent CSW. He landed 68 percent of his pitches for strikes over the weekend and generated a 47 percent chase rate.

The 19-year-old will face much harder tests in High-A, but the arm talent is there. McKenzie has traits of a future top 100 prospect and he certainly looks the part when you watch him pitch. -CC

Join the Dynasty Dugout, Trusted by Thousands

Want to win in Dynasty Leagues? From the top prospects to maybe even lesser-known older prospects, staying on top of debuts is huge.

The Next Wave of Top Prospects to Debut

Prospect

Team

ETA

James Tibbs

Los Angeles Dodgers

Next Week

Cooper Ingle

Cleveland Guardians

Next Week

Charlie Condon

Colorado Rockies

Mid-June

Cole Carrigg

Colorado Rockies

Mid-June

River Ryan

Los Angeles Dodgers

Mid-June

Kahlil Watson

Cleveland Guardians

Mid-June

Kaelen Culpepper

Minnesota Twins

Mid-June

Hagen Smith

Chicago White Sox

Late-June

Ty Johnson

Tampa Bay Rays

Late-June

James Tibbs III, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

Over the last two weeks, Tibbs has hit seven home runs and is slashing .304/.407/.761 to bring his season total to 18 home runs. Sure, he is still striking out at a 30 percent clip, but the power is undeniable. Tibbs is rocking a 92 mph average exit velocity on the year and has shown a strong approach. He will need to improve on the zone contact rates.

Ryan Ward is currently holding an outfield spot for the Dodgers while Teoscar Hernandez is on the IL. Could Tibbs force his hand and get a crack at the lineup soon? It wouldn’t shock me to see it happen.

If Promoted, Add in: 12-15 Team Leagues

Cooper Ingle, C, Cleveland Guardians

Ingle should have been up a month ago, but the Guardians opted to trade for Patrick Bailey, who has been terrible. In 46 plate appearances in a Guardian uniform, Ingle is slashing .140/.174/.302 with a 25 wRC+. Sure, the defense is good, but the bat is unplayable.

Meanwhile, Ingle is slashing .300/.456/.569 with nine home runs in Triple-A. The contact rates are high-end, and Ingle has chased at just a 17.5 percent clip this season. While Bailey is the better defender, Ingle’s bat is just so much better.

If Promoted, Add in: 12-15 Team Leagues

Charlie Condon, 1B/OF, Colorado Rockies

Four of Condon’s last eight starts have come in right field, which is another sign the Rockies are preparing him to make his MLB debut in Colorado. Condon primarily played first base for most of his pro career, but so far in 2026, he has split time almost equally between first and right.

Condon’s bat has been inconsistent at times this year, but the power numbers are impressive to pair with a strong approach and an 83 percent in-zone contact rate. It is time for him to get a shot in Colorado.

If Promoted, Add in: 12-15 Team Leagues

Cole Carrigg, SS/OF, Colorado Rockies

The Rockies are doing something interesting with Carrigg; he is seeing more and more time at shortstop. Ezequiel Tovar has been abysmal at short for the Rockies, and even though he signed an extension, Carrigg is seeing an extended run there in Triple-A, starting there in three of his last seven games.

Carrigg brings a nice spark to the Rockies lineup with his strong OBP skills and speed.

If Promoted, Add in: 12 Team Leagues

River Ryan, RHP, Los Angeles Dodgers

Ryan has been stellar this year in Triple-A outside of his last start, in which he allowed four earned runs and three walks in six innings. It was as many runs as he had allowed in his previous four starts combined and as many walks as he had all season.

The problem is the Dodgers are running a six-man rotation, and they are all pitching well. Don’t be shocked if Ryan gets the call and it is for a long-relief role.

If Promoted, Add in: 15 Team Leagues, 12 if he starts.

Kahlil Watson, OF, Cleveland Guardians

Watson is a forgotten name. A 2021 first-round pick for the Marlins, some immaturity on and off the field affected him. Now with some stability in the Guardians org, Watson is thriving. In 232 plate appearances this year, Watson has 12 home runs and 14 stolen bases while slashing .262/.371/.508.

Under the hood, Watson has an impressive 106 mph 90th percentile exit velocity with a respectable 26 percent chase rate. The aggression in the zone is good and though the 77 percent in-zone contact could use improvement, Watson does enough damage to find success.

If Promoted, Add in: 15 Team Leagues

Kaelen Culpepper, SS, Minnesota Twins

Culpepper could get the call soon as he continues to hit. Up to 14 home runs and 13 stolen bases, Culpepper is slashing .265/.371/.491. The hit tool is extremely impressive as Culpepper has a 91 percent in-zone contact rate and the exit velocities are improving. He now has a 90th percentile exit velocity near 105 mph.

There are plenty of opportunities for at-bats as Tristan Gray is currently getting starts at shortstop. It could be sooner than I anticipate, but Culpepper should have been the Twins shortstop a month ago.

If Promoted, Add in: 12 Team Leagues

Hagen Smith, LHP, Chicago White Sox

Smith seems to be finding his groove, despite pitching in a horrible home ballpark in Charlotte. The walks are still inconsistent at times, but in his last three starts, he has walked just 10 percent of batters while striking out 43 percent.

Over his last five starts, Smith has a 3.37 ERA and a .197 batting average against. The stuff is there and the cutter has been quite a dominant pitch in addition to his fastball and slider. Expect to see Smith get a shot soon.

If Promoted, Add in: 12 Team Leagues

Ty Johnson, RHP, Tampa Bay Rays

Johnson has been dominant since returning from a back injury and being promoted to Triple-A, posting a 1.29 ERA over 28 innings. He has struck out over 30 percent of batters while walking less than 10 percent.

The fastball velocity is down, sitting around 92 mph, but the release traits and shape are unique enough to miss bats. It could also be just building up more from his injury.

If Promoted, Add in: 15 Team Leagues

Hey everyone, this is the first rendition of Rhys' Pieces. I watch enough ball that I got Chris to let me write about the notes I have taken over the week. It can really be anything, ranging from interesting trends to performances I really liked and games I tuned into and what I thought, all while tying it into the fantasy game and what it might mean for your fantasy roster. Without further ado, let's get into it, and we will start with a pitching prospect I really like.

Brody Hopkins

Pitching prospects are notoriously fickle creatures, and Brody Hopkins is emblematic of this. He arguably has the best stuff of anyone in the Rays organization, but his command has until recently been a big issue. If you remove his last two starts, Hopkins had walked 21.3% of the batters he faced this season, but on May 29th things changed, coinciding with him being used as a reliever in his two previous outings, though that seems more like a Rays quirk than a potential indicator of his long-term role.

Things can change so drastically for pitchers, and one of those things can be upping the usage of certain pitches. Hopkins' best two starts of the season coincide with him using the curveball more and the cutter slightly less. He normally throws the fastball upwards of 50% of the time with the cutter coming in over 20%, but in his most recent starts the curveball, arguably his best pitch alongside the four-seamer, has seen its usage tick up from just north of 15% to over 23%. This change has been significant. He can now use the fastball up, and the curveball is a more natural accompaniment as the two tunnel better together. The changeup remains a solid weapon as well.

Hopkins is an interesting pitching prospect who has only been pitching full time since 2023, but I wanted to talk about how quickly things can change, and Hopkins is showing that in season. Throwing less of his cutter and more of his swing-and-miss curveball down in the zone, that pitch is posting a whiff rate around 37% on the season, and in his two starts where usage has gone up, the whiff rate has held.

The other part of the curveball's ascension is a noticeable gain in vertical drop, spin rate, and horizontal break. On the season Hopkins has averaged around negative 11 inches of horizontal break on the curveball, but in the past two starts we have seen the average depth increase by two inches and then four inches in his most recent start, along with a jump of 200-plus RPM in his raw spin rate.

Who should go first in your FYPD drafts, if they for some reason happened right now?

FYPDs for some of you are coming quickly. There was someone I knew who would draft before the actual major league draft, and well, that is something you can do. Please read my open world rankings coming out on Monday, but we are starting to get some real-world conversations creeping into the fantasy space, and more importantly the FYPD space, because that is going to start up soon. The question is who goes one in the real draft and who you should take 1.1 in your FYPD draft. I am pretty set that Roch Cholowsky should be the guy in both regards (for right now), but let's have some fun and engineer arguments for two other players in that range.

Vahn Lackey's Argument

Vahn Lackey is a catching prospect, so some people just will not take him at one, and in other years that could be a mistake. How often are you going to get a guy who might be the best fantasy catcher for a long time? Outside of Alfredo Duno I do not think there is a better catching prospect in the fantasy game, and Duno might not stick at catcher long term. But this is not the time to talk about Duno and why I love him, because I do, I think he is a top 5-10 prospect in the fantasy game.

Lackey's fantasy skillset is easy to see. He is an above-average runner from the catcher position who might get to above-average game power at the highest level and will hit more than enough to tap into those fantasy skills. I mean, if we want to get reckless, could he be the third ever catcher to post a 20/20 season behind Ivan Rodriguez and JT Realmuto?

Grady Emerson's Argument

Grady Emerson is a fantastic athlete who might end up being a plus hitter. His bat-to-ball skills and swing would indicate this. He has every tool you want to see: he hits the ball hard, makes a ton of contact, and is an above-average or better runner. There is a chance for him to be a fantasy contributor in every category. Someone I talked to about him said the dude just hits, and you are blending that with tremendous bat speed. The fantasy upside is really high, and the hit tool gives him a decent floor. The ceiling comp is that of a top 10 fantasy shortstop during his peak years.

Roch Cholowsky's Argument

Roch Cholowsky is the guy I would be going with. He is a no-doubt top-10 prospect for me in my open world rankings. The upside is high, as is the floor. There is a Tulowitzki type outcome here if it all clicks. He was a 25-plus homer shortstop who had the speed to steal 20 bags. That is the sort of upside I see with Roch. You also have a good approach, as he walked as much as he struck out, to go with decent exit velocities and some feel for lifting and pulling a batted ball. He has the ability to take the ball out of any ballpark, and with some pro instruction this skill could even take a slight jump.

The part of his game that will definitely tick up in pro ball is the speed, as Roch's career high in steals at UCLA was seven. The upside here with Roch is that of a perennial top-5 shortstop in the game during his best seasons. He could be an all-category contributor who shoots through the minor leagues.

After going through this you can see I would much rather have the safety of Roch than some of the other top guys in this FYPD class. The class is loaded at the top, and if you like toolsy outfielders this crop is for you. There are also some interesting shortstop prospects to grab later. This draft sort of has it all in a fantasy sense, and I for one am excited to do more FYPD content going forward. Also while you are here, watch the Super Regionals, they have been electric.

Royce Lewis and Kaelin Culpepper and the Twins Infield Situation

If you are holding onto Royce Lewis, I commend you, but some interesting things are going on during his stint in the minors. He is playing a few different positions now, trying to find a way to get his bat back into the lineup. He has played third base, some second, and some first. I am not all that interested in what he is doing at the plate, but could the shuffling around to a few different positions be a way to find the best infield configuration for him when he does return, and also the best configuration for calling up Kaelen Culpepper?

Brooks Lee is finally starting to show good on the promise he flashed during his draft year and in his minor league career. Do not ask me what I traded to get him in a 30 a few years ago, Bryan Woo. Yeah, even I have some misses. But looking at the Twins' current alignment, Luke Keaschall has been playing second base, and he is still young, but maybe a reset of his own in the minors would do him some good. He has looked to regress a little, I mean a lot a bit, thanks to an 8% jump in ground balls and some general attack angle regression. I think he will be fine, but again, some time in Triple-A might do some good.

Tristan Gray is holding down shortstop for the Twins, to an extent. But they have an option down the I-94 E that could provide more upside to a good, not great, lineup. That is Kaelen Culpepper, who at this point is ready for the majors. He is hitting .266/.372/.486 with 13 homers and 13 stolen bases in Triple-A as a 23-year-old, and the under-the-hood data looks good.

Culpepper is rocking a zone contact rate north of 88% and is hitting the ball decently hard with a 104 mph 90th percentile exit velocity, which is not exceptional but not bad either. He will chase a little, but everything else under the hood looks solid. There is little left in the way for Culpepper in Triple-A, and the call to the big leagues could happen any day now. What position he will play will be an interesting question, as Culpepper has played second, short, and third this year and could be an impact defender at all three. He could even pick up some multi-position eligibility, as the Twins need to get plate appearances for Keaschall, Lewis, and Brooks Lee, so you rotate everyone around a little to make sure they are all playing five days a week.

Culpepper has the highest fantasy upside of this group with his power and his speed and athleticism. There is a chance here for a 20/20 type who plays three positions and can be moved around on our fantasy rosters.I guess this is a long-winded way of saying I hope Culpepper gets promoted soon. His performances have warranted it.

The conversation for top pitching prospect in the sport includes just two names, Kade Anderson and Seth Hernandez, and it’s reasonable to side with the former based on proximity alone. The Mariners don’t send their arms to Tacoma to contend with the PCL — there isn’t a lot to be learned in that environment — and Anderson could perform competently at the big league level if promoted tomorrow. His performance has been impeccable; he’s tossing three pitches that are clearly plus or better (FA, CU, SL) and using his changeup to great effect. He struck out nine over five scoreless, one-hit innings on Friday, lowering his ERA to 1.29 and raising his K-rate to 43.2%. He’s walking just 4.0% of batters faced.

Briggs McKenzie (LHP, ATL, A)

McKenzie is a precocious teenaged pitching prospect taken in the fourth round (127 overall) last summer out of a North Carolina high school. Atlanta gave him a bigger bonus than Tate Southisene, Alex Lodise, and everyone else in their 2025 class. He’s long, lean, and possesses some outlier pitchability traits (fastball locations, changeup feel). He’s a projection bet if there ever was one, and he’s pitching well early. He earned a promotion to Single-A after allowing just one earned run through his first three complex league starts and posted a clean slate to go with eight strikeouts in his Rome debut. Prep arms aren’t the best demographic to place your bets, but McKenzie is worth following as a helium arm especially if his stuff ticks up.

Juneiker Caceres (OF, CLE, A)

It’s fair to characterize Caceres as a corner outfielder at best. That’ll put some pressure on his bat, which hasn’t been a problem so far but has restrained evaluators from shoving him up lists irresponsibly. His exits have looked strong for over a year now (104.6 mph EV90 in 2025), and his slugging percentage is finally starting to match the under-the-hood data. He’s eclipsed last year’s home run total in just over one third of the games while materially improving his bat-to-ball and without large deviations in batted ball spray, which typically means he’s added some juice. He finished Friday’s slate with two home runs in a 2-for-5 night.

Bonus: Emanuel Luna (OF, STL, DSL)

At the time of writing, Luna has two home runs in Saturday’s game in progress. It’s generally wise to jump on potential DSL breakouts early, even if your intent is to trade them in a few weeks.

Arrow Up on Michael Arroyo (2B, SEA, AA)

Dickey-Stephens park in Arkansas is a much tougher place to hit than Funko Field in Everett. While the implication could be that nearly 600 plate appearances at High-A propped up Arroyo’s prospect status, a more muted line in Double-A opens a buying window on a talented bat. Arroyo has slashed .272/.339/.438 in 41 games with the Travelers, but he’s been significantly better since the calendar flipped to May. He’s hitting .333/.373/.520 over his last 18 games and finished Wednesday’s slate with four hits including a pair of homers. He’s splitting time almost evenly between left field and second base, and if he stays hot there might be a utility role for him with a first-place Seattle Mariners team.

Yes Way Josue De Paula (OF, LAD, AA)

There’s been an astonishing lack of chatter about De Paula’s performance in Tulsa this year. Part of the silence has to do with his relative lack of defensive utility which puts immense pressure on his bat, and there’s certainly other names in the system stealing oxygen. There are two new dynamics in his profile this year: 1) he’s hitting for far more game power, slugging .540 in 2026 compared to the .400 he managed in 2025, and 2) he’s swinging much more often. Those things may be related — he’s striking out far less often against better competition — but his vertical and horizontal spray distributions haven’t moved much. This feels like true skill progression and a reason to buy if there’s consternation about where and when he fits into the big league roster. He went 3-for-6 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday.

More RBI Than Syllables for Josh Adamczewski (OF, MIL, A+)

Adamczewski has been walking a tight rope since he started playing more in the grass than on the dirt. He was never a fantastic defender at the keystone, but it wasn’t (and still isn’t) clear he has enough bat to carry a corner outfield profile. He’s been stellar for High-A Wisconsin, bashing his way to a .315/.454/.566 line and surpassing last year’s home run total in roughly half as many plate appearances. His public data story is the opposite of De Paula’s: he’s swinging less, pulling the ball less, and getting it in the air less often than he did in 2025. The clear avenue for doing much more damage is hitting the ball harder on balance and he’s certainly doing so this year with an EV90 hovering around 106 mph. He finished Wednesday’s slate with five RBI in a 3-for-5 performance that included a double and a home run.

This year he has a 23 percent walk rate and an 18 percent strikeout rate, which is fueling an impressive .482 OBP.

Entering the season with just four professional home runs, a two-homer night on Wednesday upped Thompson’s total to six on the year. Thompson finished last night a double shy of the cycle and reached base six times. His season-long slash sits at .317/.482/.561.

While Thompson rarely expands the zone and is running a low chase rate, the larger issue is the lack of swings on pitches in the zone. The exit velocity data is slightly up from last season, but he still likely is not going to be much of a power threat.

He is a hot hand right now and if you play in a points league, there could be some value there. Add in deeper leagues and see where it goes. -CC

Seth Hernandez, RHP, Pittsburgh Pirates

Stats: 5 IP/4 H/3 ER/2 BB/8 K

Why The Performance Matters:

Eight more strikeouts bring Hernandez's total to 76 on the year, and we have just entered June. That total leads all of the minors, passing Joseph Dzierwa, who has thrown 12 more innings than he has, and Nolan Perry of the Blue Jays.

After looking like the best pitcher on the planet in Single-A, there have been some bumps in the road in High-A. That is to be expected, though, from a 19-year-old pitching in a very hitter-friendly league. Not to mention his new home park, Greensboro is one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks in the minors. After walking a total of seven batters in six Single-A starts, Hernandez walked eight in his first two High-A starts and then three last week. So the two-walk outing last night was encouraging.

Starting with the fastball, Hernandez throws from a 5’9” release height and creates heavy extension that can get close to seven feet. The velocity sits in the mid-90s routinely but touches triple digits with 16-18 inches of IVB. The changeup plays exceptionally well off the pitch, sitting in the low-80s with late dive and fade. It routinely gets 15 inches of fade, but the late dive generates a ton of whiffs. The swinging strike rate against it this year is absurd.

From a breaking ball perspective, Hernandez works a slider in the upper 80s with closer to a gyro shape. The curveball is a two-plane breaker with high spin rates around 80 mph. It gets negative 8-12 inches of IVB and around 6-8 inches of sweeping action.

Hernandez is one of the best pitching prospects in baseball for a reason. -CC

Join the Dynasty Dugout, Trusted by Thousands

Want to win in Dynasty Leagues? Having a strong 6’3” frame, Sanchez has long levers but plenty of pop in the profile. The power is the calling card, and there were questions surrounding the contact skills. Those were surprisingly better than you might think.

In 253 plate appearances in the DSL, Sanchez slashed an impressive .341/.439/.565 with eight home runs and 47 runs scored in 56 games. He added 16 doubles and four triples while striking out in just 17 percent of plate appearances.

The Blue Jays got quite aggressive with Sanchez in 2026 and skipped him over the complex and sent him to Single-A, despite being 18 years old. It did not look great for him out of the gate, and in his first month of Single-A action, Sanchez was slashing .117/.236/.208 with a 29 percent strikeout rate.

After last night's two-home-run performance, Sanchez now has nine extra-base hits in his last 13 games with a 1.046 OPS. Sure, the strikeout rate over that span is still 27 percent, but the batted ball data is looking much better. While the home runs left the bat at just 99 and 100.5 mph yesterday, it was still an encouraging performance.

Sanchez has his 90th percentile exit velocity up over 103 mph now and his contact rates are on the rise. It should teach us that there is a big adjustment period at the lower levels. The jump from DSL to Single-A is not easy and the elimination of short-season ball means there are often bumps in the road for players.

Hopefully, you did not write off Sanchez yet. He still looks the part as a prospect. -CC

Zach Root, LHP, Los Angeles Dodgers (A+)

Stats: 7 IP/1 H/0 ER/0 BB/9 K

Why The Performance Matters:

After pitching two strong years as a starter at ECU, Root transferred to Arkansas, where he continued to pitch well, posting a 3.62 ERA with a 30 percent and just an 8.3 percent walk rate. The lefty has steadily improved his strike-throwing ability, and it showed this year as he dominated despite moving to the SEC. The Dodgers nabbed him 30th overall and he looks to be taking off.

The arsenal is deeply rooted here, but after sitting 93-94 mph last year, Root is now sitting 96-97 mph and holding deep into start. In fact, last night, Root pitched seven innings and hit 98 mph at the end of the start. The sinker is getting 17 inches of arm-side run. Root plays off it well with a changeup, which works in the mid-80s that gets good, late depth and over 17 inches of arm-side movement on average.

Getting to the breaking stuff, the two-plane curveball sits around 81 mph and gets nice depth and sweep. Root also mixes in a mid-80 gyro slider as well and both miss bats at extremely high clips.

While Root got off to a terrible start to the year, allowing four earned runs in his first 3.2 innings, he has not allowed a run since. Over the last three starts, Root has a 45 percent strikeout rate to a 9 percent walk rate. He looks the part and needs a promotion to Triple-A. Root could be a top 100 prospect soon. -CC

Join the Dynasty Dugout, Trusted by Thousands

Want to win in Dynasty Leagues?

Welcome to our 2026 dynasty fantasy baseball rankings! My Dynasty rankings focus on a three-year window. These rankings are designed to give you a good idea of how to draft a dynasty startup but also provide trade value. It is not perfect when negotiating a trade because every team is built differently, but this gives you a decent idea of where values lie when discussing trades.

A couple of important notes when looking at these rankings:

With many dynasty leagues using saves+holds instead of saves, I value relievers that way for this list. In saves+holds, I would much rather wait on relievers with great ratios that will get holds since they are valued the same as saves. Therefore, you will find fewer relievers on my list than others. I try to tier the relievers based on skill level and the number of Sv/Hld they can provide.

These rankings are designed for a 5x5 league with AVG. The spreadsheet has dynasty rankings for OBP leagues as well.

For league type, I assume a 15-team, one-catcher league. In a shallower format, catchers become less valuable, and high-end players are more valuable because the replacement level is higher.

These rankings factor in weekly lineup leagues.

It is important to think about team build when using a dynasty list. If you are rebuilding or built to win in year 2, push prospects and younger players up.

If you are built to win now, older players have much more value.

Free Rankings Google Sheet

Consider subscribing and supporting my work; you will get access to all our rankings plus multiple daily articles to help you win in dynasty.

Link to Dynasty Ranks

Updated Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Rankings!

2026 Dynasty Fantasy Baseball rankings to help you win your leagues and dominate your drafts!

www.thedynastydugout.com/c/dynasty-fantasy-baseball-rankings

New Trade Calculator Values and Best Available!

League Winning Tools

Dynasty Fantasy Baseball trade calculator, free agent finder, league projector and more, all powered by ATC Projections.

The Dynasty Dugout

There is nothing quite like the start of a minor league level opening up. There is so much optimism around the prospects we roster or want to trade for, and nowhere is there more optimism than the DSL, because these prospects could be anything. They could even be the next Jesus Made. This league is particularly hard to evaluate because of a wide range of factors, and the quality of player is the least refined in all of affiliated baseball.

The pitchers at this level are not exactly known for throwing quality strikes. They are anywhere from 16 to 17-year-olds who have an interesting pitch or two but no command, which is very normal for players still going through growth spurts and the physical changes that come with puberty, or 20-year-olds who are on their last chance to be a professional.

The hitters at this level are also so young, and at that age, they want to swing. It is less important for them to draw walks, though they most definitely will, because the command and control of pitchers at this level lag behind, and there will be some free passes as a result.

Another component that makes evaluating at this level tricky is the video feeds. For the most part, minor league baseball fields are pretty good, but at this level, we are at the mercy of grainy YouTube feeds. Some organizations do it well, like the Phillies, the Giants, the guy who does the Rockies stream, the A's, and the Diamondbacks. Others, like the Angels stream, not so much, which is disappointing because they have some interesting IFA guys every year.

Without further ado, let’s talk about some prospects and get things primed for who to follow, as Chris and I will be updating you on who is who to pick up, trade, and move on from in your leagues.

Francisco Renteria, OF, 17, 6’3”/178, Philadelphia Phillies

Chris ranked Francisco Renteria very highly on his 2026 FYPD list, and it is easy to see why. He has plus power in the tank and might be a solid fantasy runner. Chris was aggressive on him, ranking him 15th in last year's first-year player draft crop, so anyone who invested in him is going to want to see a lot. Luckily, he is a Phillies prospect, so we will get a good stream for his home games with some exit velocity data.

Renteria's swing is geared toward getting the bat head out in front of the ball and lifting and pulling batted balls, which, given he might have plus raw power in the tank, could result in some serious power output if he makes the majors. Watching him in some preseason stuff for the Phillies DSL squad, he is a good runner and could very well be a power and speed threat in his early years when he is major league ready.

There is some hope that his approach will put him in good hitter's counts, and with arguably the best power in his signing class it is easy to see the appeal of Renteria. If it all clicks, there could be a 30-homer bat in there somewhere. He will be a priority follow for me this season, as I have my notifications on for when his team plays.

Wandy Asigen, SS, 16, 6’0”/180, New York Mets

We may have to wait to see Wandy Asigen, as it is being reported that he is dealing with a hamstring injury, but sometimes patience is a virtue. Many will remember Wandy not only as someone they drafted in the middle of their FYPDs, but as someone who was once committed to the Yankees and then switched to the Mets following changes in the Yankees' international scouting department.

It is still to be determined just how long it will take Asigen to come back fully from the hamstring injury, especially given we do not know the severity. He is a fantastic athlete with present power and the sort of frame one can project more power onto.

There are some hit tool risks here, but when you can project someone out to hit 20-25 homers like we do with Asigen, you can see why we were so high on him. There is a chance he can be an all-category contributor who plays some shortstop or even third base. I will be awaiting his debut and hope this hamstring issue does not hold him back from a good season in the DSL.

Angeibel Gomez, OF, 17, 6’2”/173, Kansas City Royals

Angeibel is just as dynamic a fantasy profile as his peers, because the speed is good and he may have just as much raw power as anyone in his class, including the aforementioned Francisco Renteria. If you squint, you see your prototypical right-field profile, with a frame that can stand to add a bit more strength as he ages.

Angeibel has the chance to develop into your classic middle-of-the-order bat, and while the hit tool, like all DSL hitters, will be a work in progress, he may just hit enough to tap into his power and show just enough approach to allow his plus or better speed to come into play on the basepaths. It is less important for us, but he is also a good defensive center fielder, which will buy him more developmental runway.

Angeibel was the 25th prospect in Chris's rankings, in the company of Johenssy Colome (more on him in a second) and Andrew Fischer. Gomez's upside is as high as anyone in this DSL class, and if he can make enough contact at the right angles, he could fly up fantasy rankings.

Johenssy Colome, SS, 17, 6’2”/190, Athletics

Colome is where the athleticism, at least the stolen base upside, starts to possibly take a dip in this group, but he makes up for that with plus-plus bat speed and, as Chris mentioned in his FYPD blurb on him, if the hit tool is just average, you can expect Colome to get to big-time power numbers.

Colome has big-league bloodlines and ample bat speed, which will ultimately be more important for our purposes. If we see Colome get a hold of a few fastballs and take them for a ride, the stock could make an even bigger jump. The hard part will be seeing him hit those homers, but if they happen against teams with streams, we could be in for a big riser.

On the flip side, there are some hit tool concerns here stemming from the swing and the angles at which he can hit batted balls. All this to say, I will be interested to see how he fares and what sort of quality of contact he makes throughout the DSL season.

Victor Valdez, SS, 17, 6’1”/186, Tampa Bay Rays

Valdez will be a fun watch because of his arm and present feel for hitting and power. He is an advanced hitter for his age and may ultimately develop into a perennial 20-plus homer threat, because as Chris said in his report, "He controls the barrel well and already has strong bat speed. The power will play to all field."

If Valdez is going to be a 20-plus homer threat at either third or short, that will be a nice little value in some of your FYPDs where you gambled on the IFA guys. Valdez has a high ceiling, and if the plate skills carry over from the showcase environment to in-game production, there will be some buzz, because Rays prospects do tend to garner attention given how smart the organization is with player development.

Angel Nunez, OF, 17, 5’10”/160, Cincinnati Reds

Angel Nunez is one of the fastest players in this class, and maybe, just maybe, he can get enough power to hit 10 homers a year while stealing 30-plus bases. He is arguably one of the fastest runners in the Reds organization right now and will run wild on his peers, who will not know how to contain his speed on the basepaths. What will be interesting to keep an eye on is whether it is just pure speed or some baserunning savvy, which can be learned. His speed, however, cannot be.

What will ultimately determine the ceiling for Nunez is the power output, and we are not asking for gaudy homer totals, just some signs of life in terms of hitting the ball hard. Power will be the last tool to come with Nunez, but if we see the speed, a ton of contact, and a solid approach, there will be enough to be encouraged by.

At the very least, Nunez will be a fun prospect to monitor because his speed allows him to be a good defensive center fielder and a great base runner. Do not be shocked if he leads the DSL in swipes.

Emanuel Luna, OF, 17, 6’2”/204, St. Louis Cardinals

These last two names are ones I have in some of my deeper leagues and are not really “sleepers” because they got big bonuses. I really like Emanuel Luna. He has the sort of frame you want from a potential middle-of-the-order bat. There is some loft in the swing, and he is not a bad athlete.

There is present power here, and in the video I have seen there is some feel for lifting and putting batted balls in the air. He is not the most dynamic athlete and the swing is not the most fluid, but it should work, and the Cardinals are an organization that can tinker with his swing and maybe get the hit tool to a usable spot.

If that happens, there is a chance for a 25-homer bat with 10-12 stolen bases during his best years. This is a pure watchlist guy unless you are in a deep league, but the upside is there for an exciting middle-of-the-order bat someday.I will be looking to see what the contact looks like, more so the shape of his batted ball events, and if the approach that has been talked about carries over as well.

Samil Serrano, SS, 17, 6’3”/173, Washington Nationals

Samil Serrano has a beautiful swing that appears geared toward lifting and pulling batted balls when he gets out in front of them. He has the requisite loft to do damage and enough power to one day project as a 20-homer threat. And let's be real, there are worse orgs to roll the dice on a hitting prospect these days than the Nationals.

A swing like his allows for a lot of projection when you factor in just how much room he has to add muscle. He gets rave reviews for his feel for hitting, the way his hands traverse through the zone, and the barrel control he shows, which portends to a good hitter coming down the road. The approach is still TBD, but he will at the very least be a good contact guy this summer unless things massively unravel.

The exciting part is that power is usually the last tool to come around with hitters, and if you can show a baseline level of contact, be a decent athlete, and have the frame to add more muscle, there is a lot to like here. I have Samil in a league where, frankly, too many prospects are rostered as a speculative add. The projection and the present feel for contact are what make me excited about him as a fantasy prospect.

Héctor Rodríguez (CIN) Hushes Hecklers with Homers

There were no hecklers as far as I’m aware, it just made for great alliteration. Rodríguez has grown into meaningful power and substantially improved his approach over the course of his minor league career, ultimately sitting with a 106.5 mph EV90 and 36.1% chase rate, which is still bad but not nearly as bad as before. He makes a ton of contact — over 90% in the zone — and pulls the ball in the air a lot. His poor approach is more likely to manifest in lower on-base percentages than it is huge strikeout rates, and he might slug enough for it not to matter. I expect some opportunity for him in Cincinnati this summer.

No Trouble, Only Hits for Fenwick Trimble (MIA)

Trimble was a fourth round pick in 2024 out of James Madison, where he finished with a .369/.452/.635 line in his platform year. He’s a strong athlete, an above-average runner with a sturdy 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame, and enough pop to run into 15-20 home runs over a full 650 plate appearance sample at peak. The hit tool is the shakiest in his shed, and his contact rate has plummeted from a passable 76.3% in 2025 to a mildly concerning 69.8% in 2026. He’s swinging more often which may explain some of the variance, the rest is likely small sample variance rather than true skill regression. He finished Wednesday’s slate with five hits in six at bats including a double and a home run.

Zach Root (LAD) Slays Dragons with Nine Ks over Four Scoreless

Root was pretty good at Eastern Carolina, but he earned his stripes at Arkansas. You’re not a real prospect until you do it in the SEC (he said facetiously), but he pitched well against the best competition in the country with improved control and a knack for missing barrels. He’s since added a four-seam fastball to miss more bats and his slider and changeup have potential to be plus. It’s resulted in a gaudy 38.2% strikeout rate, though his control has clearly backed up early. His walk rate will be the key figure to watch. For now, he looks like a high-likelihood big leaguer with error bars that include outcomes between #3 starter and swing man.
