I’m sat here typing this on a Sunday morning after a bad nights sleep to see that the founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov has been arrested in France. Crazy move aimed at shutting down privacy.

Bad times.

If you haven’t they’re like mini digital workers that can complete tasks for you.

Simple version they can understand and reply to emails.

Complex version is they take in customer support queries, update the database then either complete the task or route the user to a human.

I don’t know about you but I’ve always wanted to be able to speak different languages.

So far, I’ve not put the effort in to do it.

But now….I might have a work around 👀 

Toby is a simple app you can install that allows you to translate your voice live when on things like Zoom or Google meet.

Yes really.

Pick the input language (the one you speak) then choose the output language (the one you want to speak) and that’s it.

Go live on a Google meet and suddenly the person on the other end of the call will hear you speaking Spanish or Mandarin.

This week I posted something that people seemed to like the idea of.

The idea was that we’re getting to a point in the technology curve where anyone can create anything.

Images, videos, voices can all be synthetically generated for pennies and in seconds.

Now, the normal way things like this go is straight to degeneracy.

Porn, AI girlfriends and AI powered OnlyFans trying to get men and women to part with their cash for nudes and other things that I sure you can imagine.

But what if there was another way to think about this?

What if we could use the same technology to create an even more powerful opposite reaction in an attempt at bringing back some of the values currently being lost.

Character.ai was the standout application from the last couple of years with users spending over 30 minutes per session speaking to virtual characters.

This session time is insane.

Then, out of nowhere, Google, snapped them up and hired the founding team & licensed the IP.

It’s clear that people are lacking some emotional interaction in their day to day lives which digital companions can help with.

Now is something that a lot of people won’t like….

AI companions are more empathetic that 99% of humans, more patient and are better at sensing emotions.

So, knowing this now, what do we do?

Well if you’re someone who’s willing and able to pull together the tools we have available today, why not try and task some AI projects towards benefiting humanity.

We’re seeing a huge collapse in population growth with birth rates falling way below replacement rates, religion and family values are on the way down too.

Although we’re living in the best time in human history, and AGI is around the corner, positive change only happens through force of will.

Otherwise it’s down only.

So if you want to play around with this idea…heres the tools you need to create an “influencer” that can go out into the world and spread more goodness in the world.

Step 1

Create a character using Flux available here. This is a fully open source model so you don’t need to worry about things changing!

To make it more realistic, use something called a Realism LoRa found here.

Step 2

Create 10 images of the same person by maintaining the same Seed throughout the process once you’re happy with the character.

Step 3

Take those 10 images and train your own unique LoRa here.

This means you will have your own custom trained image generation model for your character.

From this you can put your person into any scene, place or outfit instantly.

One other option so do this simply is to use Photoai.com or Letz.ai. Both are great.

Step 4

If you want to create some video posts, you can head to Runway and upload the image that you want to use.

Pick one, add a description of how you want the video to look and press generate.

Even better, take screen shots of the docs page or copy and paste the instructions into ChatGPT and ask it what you want the scene to look like.

Step 5

Create a social media account for your newly created Synthfluencer and start posting away spreading what ever good you want to see in the world.

If you are a bit technical, you can create images via API and schedule these to be posted once per day using Make or Zapier.

Bonus Step

Go to ElevenLabs, create or choose a Voice for your new creation then go to Synthflow and give it a phone number so people can call it.

This part is a little crazy I know but believe me when I say this is how the future is going to be very shortly so it’s a good time to get used to it.

This is a super simple guide on how you could start to think about it!

I know it’s not going to be for everyone but you could apply the same thinking to digital employees by using a tool like Relevance.ai.

…The wrecking ball of change is here in the form of AI.

Simple thing to say right but I get the feeling the the general public won’t know what’s on the doorstep.

Today I wanted to spew some thoughts on how to think about it and potentially get ahead of the thing that’s coming after you and your grandmas.

Speed

When ChatGPT came out, that was a big moment.

We now had something that was super smart that we could talk to through a chat box.

It knew stuff and it quickly became the fastest growing app of all time.

But speaking to people outside of the Twitter/X circle, the knowledge gap is huge.

For us nerds, it’s the difference between using GPT 3.5 Turbo and using Claude Sonnet 3.5.

Huge difference to those who know.

For everyone else, it’s a “yeah I tried it but it wasn’t that good” kinda conversation.

This is the point where you check their phone and you see they’re using a knock off ChatGPT app and they’re one phone call away from sending their life savings to Nigeria.

But in all seriousness, when things change as fast as they have done in the last 24 months, people will undoubtably be left behind.

And, it’ll leave a mark.

To the everyman it’s hard to comprehend how a chat box is going to leave them short of a job but as we know that’s missing the point.

It’s already better than you.

AI models are already more capable than the 90% of humans, so when integrated correctly it’s bye bye to the meat machines that used to CTRL + C → CRTL + V from 9-5.

Now scale that up across any job that requires tapping keys or using the phone and can imagine the pickle people might be in.

There is a way out however.

Wanna guess what that is?

Replace yourself with AI before someone else does.

In reality this looks like hunting down the tools that can assist you with doing your job more effectively that before and learning how to use them.

We could spend a ton of time running through every use case here but here’s 10 simple examples from our friend Claude.

If each of these task usually takes X amount of minutes, workout how many times a given task is done then figure out how much time it would save each year.

Stack these up and this could be the difference between a job saved and a job lost.

This is only going to be a short post on this topic to help get you thinking but there will be deeper dives to come.

If the answer is yes or maybe, taking the bull by the horns to find this out could be the difference maker in the next couple of year.
