Can AI Tell You When You are Going To Die

The AI Death Calculator

The AI Death Calculator (AIDC) sounds pretty ominous, but despite the morbid name, it’s an interesting AI use case for AI.

The AIDC is a scarily accurate death calculator invented by US and Danish scientists that helps those curious about learning when they will likely kick the bucket.

The tool can be found at Life2vec.io, an advanced AI-powered platform designed to estimate life expectancy based on various personal, medical, and lifestyle factors. Utilizing state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms, it provides a personalized prediction, helping users understand the potential impact of their habits and health choices on their longevity.

At first glance, the AI Death Calculator might seem like a macabre but ultimately harmless curiosity. After all, who wouldn't be slightly tempted to know when the Grim Reaper might come knocking?

And if the calculator's predictions could motivate us to make positive changes in our lives—eating better, exercising more, finally writing that novel—then surely that's a good thing, right?

But the reality is far more complex. For one thing, the accuracy of these predictions is far from certain. While the creators of the AI Death Calculator claim that their model is based on rigorous scientific research and trained on vast datasets, the fact remains that death is ultimately an unpredictable and deeply personal event. No algorithm, no matter how sophisticated, can account for the myriad factors influencing an individual's lifespan.

However, this technology's potential misuse and unintended consequences are more concerning. In a world where data is increasingly seen as a valuable commodity, the idea of companies or governments having access to our predicted date of death is deeply unsettling. Imagine a situation where this information is used to deny individuals insurance coverage, loans, or even job opportunities. The dystopian implications are not hard to envision.

There's also the risk that these predictions could be biased or discriminatory, particularly if the data used to train the AI is skewed toward certain demographics. This could lead to a future where certain groups are unfairly stigmatized or marginalized based on their perceived mortality risk.

Perhaps the most significant ethical question the AI Death Calculator raises concerns what it means for our understanding of life and death itself. By reducing the mystery of mortality to a simple data point, do we risk diminishing human life's inherent value and dignity? And if we rely too heavily on these predictions, do we risk losing touch with the importance of living in the present moment and making the most of our time?

These are not easy questions to answer, but they are ones that we must grapple with as AI becomes increasingly integrated into our lives. While tools like the Death Calculator may offer a tantalizing glimpse into our future, we must approach them cautiously and thoughtfully.

Ultimately, the decision of whether to engage with this technology is a personal one. Some may find comfort or motivation in knowing their predicted mortality; others may prefer to live in blissful ignorance. But regardless of where we fall on that spectrum, this illustrates the bigger, more profound ethical implications at stake when using AI models.

The bigger picture and the real reason I shared this story is to illustrate the caution one should exercise when using AI. Even though the results may seem compelling, the outputs are not absolute and are based on probabilities.

Also, one should consider how they protect their privacy when using AI. What data should we feed it? What problems should we solve with it? And what privacy concerns should we have when giving AI our data? Not just in a death calculator but with ChatGPT and the myriad of other AI tools we’ll likely see coming in the future. I also meant it to illustrate that relying on AI too heavily could have unintended repercussions.

In Stoicism, memento mori is an invitation to appreciate the present moment and seize each day as if it were our last. It serves as a reminder to live with purpose and intention, enjoying life and the people around us to the fullest. Don’t get too hung up on the newest technology when there are so many more valuable things to be interested in.

So enjoy the real world first, then decide how you will engage with AI, including the decision to type in your formula into the AI Death Calculator. Hopefully, you outlive any of its predictions.

Chatbots: The Low-Hanging Fruit of Generative AI

I think having a good grasp of the latest chatbots these are the lowest-hanging fruit for using generative AI. Here’s what I’d be doing if

• ChatGPT - Best for brainstorming, creating outlines, and analyzing data. Using Custom GPTs (if you are a paid user) to codify workflows is a good option. Also, use ones from the ChatGPT store made by others.

• Perplexity - I rarely use Google for research anymore. I have been using Perplexity to sort out the wheat from the chaff in search results. I use Perplexity as a search engine replacement. Also, Microsoft CoPilot isn’t bad with its real-time search integration. It’s like Perplexity+ChatGPT because it uses OpenAI’s models.

• Claude - I think Claude has improved dramatically with their Claude Sonnet 3.5 release. It’s very good at writing human-sounding copy.

Finally, suppose you want to compare results from different chatbots. In that case, Poe.com allows you to interact with multiple chatbots through a single interface, including some lesser-known ones that might become your new favorite. The value is to find the chatbots that are best matched to your style and needs.

Actionable Basics for Every AI User

I am big fan of having a good foundation for any topic I want to accel at that’s why I wanted to take the time to talk about the skills and knowledge I think you need to excel at using AI. Here’s my short list.

1. Prompt Engineering: Learn to craft effective prompts. Be specific, provide context, and use clear instructions. That’s why I add a prompt example to every newsletter. You can take a free, prompt engineering course from a Vanderbilt professor here.

2. Verify AI-Generated Information: Always fact-check important information from AI sources against reliable human-verified sources. I like Perplexity; it can provide sources for all its data to ensure you don’t lose out.

3. Experiment with Different Tools: Each AI tool has its strengths. Try various options to find what works best for your specific needs. Here’s my AI Toolbox, which I am constantly updating.

4. Stay Updated: Follow AI news and updates from reputable sources to keep abreast of new features and capabilities. Hopefully, The AIE will be the main course in your information diet, but if you want daily news on AI, I think The Rundown is a decent newsletter.

5. Combine Human and AI Skills: Leverage AI for tasks like data analysis and initial drafts, then apply human creativity and critical thinking. Always check your work; you will rarely get perfect results.

6. Learn Basic AI Concepts: Understand fundamental AI terms and concepts to communicate effectively about AI tools and their capabilities. AI For Everyone by Deep Learning is a great way to get started.

7. Data Hygiene and Ethical Considerations: Be cautious about the data you input into AI systems, especially regarding sensitive or confidential information. Be mindful of privacy, copyright, and ethical implications when using AI-generated content. For example, if you are trying to create a logo, it may not be copyrightable under U.S. law. Or, if you are using your customers' private data in a chatbot, you might be violating your confidentiality obligations.

When interacting with ChatGPT, imagine you're conversing with a knowledgeable colleague rather than a chatbot. This mindset shift will lead to more productive exchanges. Here’s how to do it:

• Be Clear and Direct: Frame your requests as if you were delegating tasks to a team member. Instead of saying, “Explain this,” try, “Can you draft a summary of this topic for our upcoming meeting?”

• Provide Context: Like any colleague, the more context you provide, the better the response. Share background information, your goals, or specific details to help ChatGPT give you a more tailored answer.

• Iterate and Refine: Don’t hesitate to ask follow-up questions or request revisions. For example, after getting an initial draft, you might say, “This is a good start, but can we make the tone more formal?” Engaging in this back-and-forth dialogue allows you to refine the output until it meets your expectations.

• Ask for Opinions or Suggestions: Treat ChatGPT as a brainstorming partner. Instead of only requesting information, ask for suggestions or different perspectives. For example, “What do you think are the potential risks of this strategy?” or “Can you propose alternative solutions?”

By shifting your approach to engage ChatGPT like you would a trusted colleague, you can unlock more valuable and nuanced insights that align with your professional needs.

This is my first email as the new editor-in-chief of AI Lessons, so I wanted to share some tips for getting the best results from ChatGPT. I’ve been using ChatGPT since the beginning, and during that time, I have picked up many tricks that have improved my results quite a bit. Here are some of my favorite ChatGPT tips.

7 Tips to Use ChatGPT to be a Power User

Boost ChatGPT Accuracy with These Expert Strategies

1. Brainstorming with ChatGPT: Iterate 10x

When brainstorming or exploring options, you often need more than one idea. A great trick is to ask ChatGPT to "Iterate 10x." This simple command prompts the AI to generate ten different ideas or approaches, giving you a broad range.

• Example: Let's say you're trying to develop a tagline for a newsletter on generative AI. You could ask, "Create a tagline for a newsletter on generative AI called AI lessons.” This will give you a tagline. If you like it, use it, but if you think you get a better tagline. Then type “Iterate 10x”. This will give you a list of creative suggestions to refine further.

2. Leverage Memory to Mimic Your Voice

If you want ChatGPT to respond consistently in tone or style across multiple sessions, you can use memory features to establish your preferences. This is particularly useful if you have a specific voice or brand tone you'd like to maintain.

You can do this by going to the Open AI Menu in the upper right corner of ChatGPT's web version and choose Settings > Personalization.

• Example: "Remember that I prefer a professional and direct tone, similar to a business consultant speaking to C-level executives." By setting this expectation, ChatGPT will tailor its responses to match your preferred style, ensuring consistency in tone whether you're crafting an email or writing a report.

3. Customize ChatGPT with Custom Instructions

Giving ChatGPT context on who you are and your preferences can help preserve your preferences from one chat to another. This can ensure that ChatGPT has some basic grounding and instructions on answering your prompts.

You can do this by going to the Open AI Menu in the upper right corner of ChatGPT's web version and choose Customize ChatGPT.

Also, ensure you toggle Enable for New Chats so ChatGPT uses your instructions for all new chats.

• Example: Now, you can add personal information to give the model context on who you are and how you would like your outputs. I provided my work background for the personal information, “What would you like ChatGPT to know about you to provide better responses?” and then “How would you like ChatGPT to respond?” I gave it instructions on my writing style. I included my sample instructions below, which you can edit for your own use.

    - Regularly provide feedback for response improvement.
    - Suggest a rating or commenting system per response.

    - Compare against high-quality standards.

    - Create posts that will go viral and showcase Mark's intelligence in AI.

Note: Avoid AI-sounding discourse markers or thematic phrases avoid using the words: paradigm, delves, cornerstone, landscape

4. Utilize Markdown Formatting for Clarity in ChatGPT Prompts

Markdown is a plain text syntax that uses special characters to format prompts for ChatGPT. Markdown can help structure prompts, introduce context, and establish sequencing in a task's performance.

For example, you can use Markdown to communicate headings, bold, underline, and more.

Why does this matter? Because that’s how ChatGPT formats its responses. If you copy and paste ChatGPT results from the web interface into a text editor, you will see some formatting, like in the prompt below.

By breaking up the prompt into logical sections and using emphasis (caps and bold), ChatGPT will infer that that information has additional significance. For example, in my prompt, I used the line “DO NOT ECHO THE PROMPT” in caps so that ChatGPT would not repeat my input. The caps signify that it’s very important information. Just like when you text, capitalization indicates you are virtually shouting.

Markdown is a lightweight markup language that formats text using simple syntax. When applied to ChatGPT prompts, it can significantly improve interactions' structure, clarity, and effectiveness.

Key Benefits of Using Markdown in Prompts

• Improved Structure: Organize your prompts into logical sections using headings, lists, and blockquotes.

• Enhanced Context: Highlight important information or instructions using emphasis (bold, italics).

• Clear Sequencing: Use numbered lists to outline steps or priorities in multi-part tasks.

• Visual Hierarchy: Employ different heading levels to create a clear information hierarchy.

ChatGPT often mirrors the formatting style used in prompts when generating responses. By incorporating Markdown elements, you're making your prompts more readable and influencing the structure and presentation of the AI's output.

Capitalization or bold text can draw attention to crucial prompt instructions. For instance:

This formatting signals to ChatGPT that this instruction carries significant weight, similar to how all-caps text in messaging conveys urgency or importance.

When you copy ChatGPT's responses from the web interface into a text editor, the formatting is displayed in Markdown. I included an example below to demonstrate how Markdown can be applied to a prompt.

• Example: Prompt to find the AI apps. This prompt uses a framework with a role (how you want the model to act), objective (what you want the prompt to accomplish), and, finally, instructions on how you want the Chat

5. Context Windows to Keep ChatGPT on Track

Imagine you’re at a networking event, meeting people, and having multiple conversations throughout the evening. You can only remember so much before older details start slipping away. Similarly, when interacting with ChatGPT, it has a “context window,” which is the amount of text it can remember and process in one go.

Analogy: The Whiteboard in Your Brain

Think of ChatGPT's context window like a whiteboard in your brain. You can write down everything you want to remember, but there’s only so much space. Older notes get erased as new information comes in to make room for the new ones. If you keep adding information, the older stuff is eventually wiped clean.

In practical terms, ChatGPT’s context window means that if your conversation or input exceeds a certain length (GPT-4o has a 128K context window or roughly 300 pages of a book), the model will start to forget the earliest parts of the conversation. This limitation affects how well the model can maintain coherence and continuity, particularly in long exchanges. So, if you are trying to upload more text than the context window through an attachment, you will likely not want to upload more than 300 pages worth of content.

If you’re working on a long document or complex project, break it into smaller sections and handle each within a manageable context window. ChatGPT retains the necessary context to provide insightful and relevant responses. This is called chunking.

Chunking is a technique for managing large amounts of information by breaking it down into smaller, more digestible pieces. When working with AI models, chunking involves splitting up a large input (like a long document or conversation) into smaller, manageable sections. Since ChatGPT has a limited context window, chunking helps ensure the model can focus on one section at a time without losing important details from earlier text parts.

For example, if you're using ChatGPT to analyze a long report, you would break the report into several sections or "chunks." You then feed each chunk to the model separately, allowing it to independently process and generate insights for each section. This method prevents the model from being overwhelmed by too much information at once and helps maintain clarity and relevance in its responses.

When using chunking with ChatGPT, try to group related information together within each chunk. This allows the model to coherently understand the content and produce more accurate and useful outputs.

6. Specify Output Length and Detail Level

Sometimes, you need a brief summary; other times, you need an in-depth analysis. Being clear about the desired output length and detail level can ensure you get exactly what you need.

• Example: If you're preparing for a meeting and need quick insights, you could say, "Summarize the key trends in AI for 2024 in 150 words." On the other hand, if you're writing a white paper, you might ask, "Provide a detailed analysis of cloud computing trends with a focus on security in 1,000 words."

Here’s the gotcha: ChatGPT is imperfect at counting in its responses, so sometimes, you may want to specify the length of results in tokens. Tokens are the building blocks of text in AI language models, representing units like words, characters, or punctuation marks. They help AI understand and process text. You can use a tokenizer algorithm to determine the number of tokens in a text.

Here are some helpful rules of thumb for understanding tokens in terms of lengths:

1 token ~= 4 chars in English. 1 token ~= ¾ words. 100 tokens ~= 75 words.

Here’s how that works in tokens.

• Example: If you're preparing for a meeting and need quick insights, you could say, "Summarize the key trends in AI for 2024 in 150 words. 195 tokens." On the other hand, if you're writing a white paper, you might ask, "Provide a detailed analysis of cloud computing trends with a focus on security in 1,000 words.  1,300 tokens.

7. Use Chain of Thought (CoT) Prompting for More Thorough Responses

When working on a project or document, it's often helpful to get interim feedback before finalizing anything. You can use ChatGPT to propose initial ideas or drafts and then iterate based on your feedback. This is called Chain of Thought (CoT) prompting.

CoT prompting is an AI technique in which the model is guided to break down complex problems into a series of intermediate reasoning steps. This method encourages the model to think through each part of a problem sequentially, leading to more accurate and coherent outputs.

By explicitly generating these steps, CoT improves the model's ability to handle tasks requiring logical reasoning and multi-step inference. It's particularly effective in math problems, reasoning questions, and iterative ideation processes.

Example: Writing a Blog Post on AI Ethics

1. Initial Prompt: Begin with a high-level prompt to generate a broad outline.

   • Prompt: "Propose an initial outline for a blog post on AI ethics."

   • AI Response: The AI provides a basic outline covering key topics such as the importance of AI ethics, key ethical concerns, regulatory frameworks, and future considerations.

2. Chain of Thought Expansion: Break down each section of the outline into more detailed thoughts.

   • Prompt: "For the section on key ethical concerns, list specific examples and discuss their implications."

   • AI Response: The AI expands on the key ethical concerns, providing specific examples like bias in AI algorithms, privacy concerns, and the ethical use of AI in surveillance.

3. Iterative Refinement: Use feedback loops to refine the content.

   • Feedback: "Focus more on the impact of AI ethics on businesses and how they can implement ethical AI practices."

   • AI Adjustment: The AI revises the content to emphasize practical applications and strategies for businesses to adopt ethical AI practices.

4. Finalizing the Draft: As the content evolves, continue using CoT prompting to ensure each section logically flows from one idea to the next, leading to a cohesive and well-structured document.

GPTs are custom versions of ChatGPT created by OpenAI or third-party developers. They combine instructions, extra knowledge, and specific skills to provide specialized assistance in various domains. GPTs can be accessed through the ChatGPT interface and are designed to be more helpful for specific tasks compared to the general-purpose ChatGPT.

How to Access and Use GPTs

1. Visit chat.openai.com and log in to your ChatGPT account.

2. Click on the "Explore" tab to browse available GPTs.

3. Select a GPT that suits your needs.

4. Start a conversation with the GPT by typing your query or request.

Tips for Effective GPT Usage

1. Be specific: Clearly state your goal or question for the most relevant response.

2. Provide context: Give background information to help the GPT understand your situation better. This can be added to the Instructions or uploaded to the GPT Knowledge under the configurations.

3. Iterate: If the initial response isn't satisfactory, rephrase your query or ask follow-up questions.

4. Verify information: Always double-check important facts or data provided by GPTs.

5. Explore different GPTs: Try various specialized GPTs to find the ones that best suit your needs.

Creating Your Personalized GPT

OpenAI allows users to create custom GPTs without coding skills. To create your own GPT:

1. Go to chat.openai.com/create

2. Provide instructions and extra knowledge for your GPT.

3. Choose your GPT's capabilities (e.g., web browsing and image generation).

4. Test and refine your GPT before publishing.

Privacy and Safety Considerations

When using GPTs, keep in mind:

• Your chats with GPTs are not shared with the GPT creators.

• You can opt out of allowing your chats for model training.

Every role has unique requirements, even within the same industry. ChatGPT can help you highlight the most relevant experiences in your resume to align with these specific needs. Here’s how:

Paste your CV or attach it, then ask ChatGPT to “Adapt the job achievements to the responsibilities listed in the job description below.”

2) Writing a Cover Letter

A compelling cover letter can make a significant difference. Use ChatGPT to draft a cover letter that addresses the job specifics and includes a bit of your personality.

“Compose a 150-word cover letter using the job spec and my CV.”

Tip: You can use a similar approach to create a professional summary for LinkedIn.

3) Preparing for Job Interviews

You can ask ChatGPT to provide general interview questions and also role-specific questions.

Additionally, using your CV and the job description, you can get tailored answers that will help you prepare for the interview. For example, I could use this prompt: “Based on my CV and the job spec, how can I answer the question about my experience in stakeholder management?” to get an idea of how to answer that question.

Other examples of prompts that can be useful on your job search journey are:

• “Using my CV and the attached job description, identify the top three skills I should highlight in my job application for the [Job Title] position.”

• “Compare my CV with the attached job description to evaluate my suitability for the [Job Title] role. I am trying to decide whether to apply for this position.”

• “I have applied for the [Job Title] position and would like to send a professional job application email to the hiring manager. Please help me craft an email using aligned content from my CV and the job description.”

Remember: whenever ChatGPT generates a draft, be sure to tweak it so it sounds like you. Add specific metrics and accomplishments, and adjust the tone. This will help keep it human and authentic!

For this tutorial, I uploaded the table containing the data below from a fictitious company:

1) Analysing Sales Trends

We can ask ChatGPT to “Analyse the sales trend over the year” to get insightful information, such as growth periods, patterns, and possible correlations.

2) Calculating Cost per New Customer (or CAC)

How much does it cost me to acquire new customers each month? The “Calculate cost per new customer” prompt will return the following:

It can also create charts. For example, what if we ask for a Sales vs Ad Spend chart? Voilà…

3) Predictive Analysis

Maybe it would be useful to predict the sales and revenue for the next quarter based on historical data. We can simply ask and ChatGPT will use a linear regression model to show me a forecast.

Additionally, you can ask for suggestions, such as “Suggest marketing strategies to boost sales during low-performing months,” which can help with planning.

Remember this is a prediction and not something you can follow blindly!

4) Sentiment Analysis

Prompting it to “Perform a detailed sentiment analysis of feedback comments to identify common themes and areas for improvement” is a great way to summarise tons of messy feedback that might help with the strategy and continuous improvement.

That is it! Imagine doing all that analysis with a larger dataset, how helpful could it be?

There are many other ways this could be analysed and visualised using ChatGPT. It is also handy for cleaning and structuring messy data.

Answer the questions and go! You will receive a well thought out response that gives you 3 research papers on the topic of healthy habits from successful people.

From this we can learn that exercising regularly can help build up habit strength and cognitive ability leading to much more discipline in your dietary practices.

We also can see that a balanced lifestyle is linked with higher levels of success and satisfaction - good sleep, diet and exercise all help with this!

• Staples: Oats, rice, eggs, flour, yeast, honey, cooking oil, basic spices (salt, pepper, chili powder)

Start by using ChatGPT to brainstorm content ideas for your next marketing campaign. For example, ask ChatGPT:

“Generate 10 content ideas for a blog about sustainable fashion trends in 2024.”

2) Write copy

Once you have your content ideas, select one to develop further. For instance, if you chose “Innovative Sustainable Fabrics to Watch in 2024,” you can use ChatGPT to craft a marketing copy. Ask: “Write a blog post about innovative sustainable fabrics to watch in 2024.”

It will generate a draft you can use as a starting point. You can also create something better if you provide more details and show what you want. So a better copy could be generated by using a prompt like this:

“We're writing an article about the importance of innovative sustainable fabrics to watch for in the fashion industry. EcoTextiles, a company focused on eco-friendly fabric solutions, will be our featured partner. The article should emphasize the value of these innovative sustainable fabrics in promoting environmental sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint of the fashion industry.

Please write an 800-word blog post centred around the keyword 'innovative sustainable fabrics'. Include information about the features of these fabrics that make them a top choice for designers and consumers concerned about sustainability.

Use a friendly and educational tone of voice. The post should be written in the style of the following example post:

Lately, sustainability concerns have increasingly gained a broader public and political debate. This is partly because of the growing awareness of climate change and the environmental impact of fast fashion.

Of course, it still needs to be polished by a human, but it is a great starting point and will save a lot of time!

“What are the top 5 keyword clusters for innovative sustainable fabrics in 2024, and how can I incorporate them into my blog post? Within each cluster, include 3-5 of the most popular searches that we should rank for.”

ChatGPT will provide a list of keywords and suggest ways to integrate them into your content to improve your search engine rankings.

Reading and replying to loads of emails is exhausting! There are better ways to spend your time than being stuck in your inbox.

You need to check out HARPA AI, a powerful Chrome extension that brings AI capabilities to your fingertips.

Example Task: Summarising and Replying to a Sales Email

1) Open an email, select the text, and click on the “Short Summary” button on the HARPA AI lateral bar.

2) The extension will summarise the email as you can see below.

Imagine how much time this can save for longer emails. Also, you won’t need to jump to ChatGPT every time.

Now, click the “Reply Text” button on the HARPA AI panel (note: you don’t need to summarize your email to use AI to reply).

3) Select a pre-defined option or type how you’d like it to answer the email. You can also “Set a Reply Tone” to ensure it mimics your tone.

HARPA AI will generate a response that you can copy and paste (or click “Paste to Page” if the reply window is already open on your email client).

This can help you zero your inbox effortlessly!

There are more than 100+ commands you can use by typing “/” in the extension panel. Once the extension is installed, you’ll see action buttons on your inbox, Google Search, and other websites that can trigger AI actions and make your life easier!

Bonus Example: Summarising a Video

As I said, HARPA is an incredible AI toolbox you can use on every webpage, including YouTube.

I can click on “Summarize with HARPA AI” to create a short and nice summary of this 46-minute video, get the timestamps, and ask for the main takeaways. I could also use a command to “chat with the video” - ask questions about the content - or to write comments.

I hope this brief overview shows how powerful and useful HARPA AI can be, and how it can become your everyday assistant.

Bonus Example: Marketing Campaign Mind Map

To show another type of diagram Whimsical can generate, I now asked it to create a mind map for brainstorming a new marketing campaign.

Using this prompt:

Example Task: Summarize a Harvard Business Review Article

How it works:

Once you have navigated to the website, you have two options:

• Click the MaxAI widget that should be on the right of your screen if you have installed the chrome extension.

• Click CMD + J (Mac) or CTRL + J (PC) which will bring up a selection of tasks the tool can help you with.

2) Step 2: Get Started searching

After my Google Search, I was reading through the Harvard Business Review but I didn’t feel like sifting through a long article myself. I find their articles really informative but I just didn’t have the time to dedicate so MaxAI was the perfect solution.

Since I didn’t want to read the full article, I gave the task to MaxAI to summarize it for and give me the key points.

I pressed CMD + J to pull up the widget. However, I must warn you some features are paid only such as summarizing pdfs or videos. But once you highlight text and ask for a summary that is free!

If you get stuck, you can just highlight a piece of text and MaxAI will prompt you to take action. If you click the button to the left, it will summarize your highlighted section really quickly - for free!

3) Step 3: Summary

I wanted a quick answer so I highlighted a couple paragraphs and asked for a summary. In seconds, I had a key takeaways section that reduced the reading time. Easily learned that

• Self-awareness is a key predictor of a good manager

• Managers have more responsibilities than before

• Empathy is key in all communication 

In minutes we were able to get all the key lessons from this Harvard article without spending time reading it. Now your Google searches can be far more productive than before!

Example Task: Create a new brand messaging matrix for a small business

1) Understand what a brand message should be

We want to start off by asking the GPT what “good” looks like. So we ask it to create a successful brand messaging blueprint.

Copy this prompt:

“Imagine you are creating a blueprint of how to create a successful brand messaging guide for any small business. What do you need to help with this?”

2) Create a brand messaging guide

We then want to ask the GPT to create this guide in a simple table so we can easily copy and paste to google docs or sheets.

Here is the brand messaging guide we got:

Mission	Provide unique and high-quality products that enhance the daily lives of our customers.
Vision	Be a leading brand in our industry, recognized for innovation and customer satisfaction.

3) Adapt to your business

In this example, we are going to use an ecommerce website as the brand and tailor our guide to fit the brand we are working on. For this we just need some copy from the brands website.

Go to a website (for this I have chosen All Birds) and CMD + A (on mac) or CTRL + A (on pc) to copy the entire website. Then CMD + V or CTRL + V to paste the copy into the GPT.

Ask it the following prompt to analyze the copy and adapt to the blueprint brand messaging:

“Analyse the following copy which is my website. I want you to fill in the brand messaging guide table with all the learnings you can get from this website”.

In minutes you have a full idea of how your brand message should be.

4)Brand Messaging Guide Tailored to your Brand

Example Task: Create a logo for a Software business called “Community.ai”

1) On ChatGPT, use a prompt to start.

When using ChatGPT, your answer is only as good as your prompt. To get the most accurate response, I like to ask in the following format:

• Assume you are ____ (enter job title or profession)

• Describe the task in full

• Request an action to be made

• Ask to clarify understanding

2) Logo creator asks a couple questions. Much like a designer would..

I chose B) Neutral

3) Boom! We have 9 logos. I guess their not the next Nike logo but you know what, it’s about the same quality you would get for $35 on fiverr, but in a fraction of the time.

Fun fact: The Nike logo was purchased from a college student named Carolyn Davidson in 1971 for $35.

Though that was an incredible bargain and different time, it reminds us that AI is still a long way from the best. Again, it’s faster - but not better…yet!

4) Let’s make it a little better

I asked Logo Creator to focus on a gradient and dark background.

For the cost of $20 a month (ChatGPT 4 subscription), we made a logo that would have taken a fiverr seller a couple days and over $35 minimum to make.
