Record Store Day 2026

One of the best atmospheres you’ll find in the city. Expect queues, live sets, and proper music heads out in force. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s worth soaking up.

Record Store Day is a semi-annual event established in 2008 to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store"

Highlights of the National Gallery Tour

Climate Catch-Up Beach Cleanup

Bit of fresh air, bit of purpose, and you’ll probably meet sound people along the way. These always turn into more of a social than you’d expect.

If nothing else, you’ll be able to say you’re making your impact on Earth Day. Climate Catchup is a (mostly) monthly coffee meetup that does these activations at their events.

You don’t need a ticket, but it’s asked to respond here so they can gauge the number of people!

Bully’s Acre Cemetery Tour

Location: Royal Hospital Kilmainham Cemetery
Date & Time: Saturday 2pm

Hidden gem. Packed with history and stories you definitely didn’t hear in school. Proper Dublin.

Covering 1,500 years of history this tour explores the Royal Hospital, its history and relationship with the local community through the three cemeteries on site

As you’d expect, cemeteries aren’t that big so you’ll need a ticket for this one.

Dublin Docklands Walking Tour

Location: Around the Docklands
Date & Time: Saturday 10am

Old meets new. A good way to understand how much the city has changed (and is still changing).

Explore the iconic Docklands sites, and finish with a guided visit to the Substrata exhibition.

A fascinating walking tour around the area of Docklands, which goes from the Custom House to Dublin Port

At the end of the tour, the guide will leave the attendees at the Substrata exhibition, where they will be taken on a tour of the exhibition.

Swords Tidy Towns Clothes Swap

Location: River Valley Community Centre, Swords
Date & Time: Saturday, April 18 · 11:00am – 1:00pm

Bring something, take something. Simple idea, but always a good one — and you might leave with a few solid finds.

There will also be a Scrap Fabric Scrunchie workshop 🎀 hosted by An Taisce Climate Ambassador Emma O'Toole

Where you will be shown how to use old clothes or materials that cannot be reworn (perhaps ripped) and turn these to make beautiful handmade scrunchies with our sewing machines on site (we will show you how to set up and support you through process too!)

You don’t need a ticket, but always nice to have one and show the organisers how many people to expect!

Ardgillan Castle has established an enchanting and educational Fairy Tree Trail, crafted in partnership with Fingal County Council and free of charge. Along the trail are informative signposts that feature information on the various tree varieties found in the park.

Additionally, the Fairy Tree Trail Map and Quiz is available both online and at the reception of Ardgillan Castle for those wishing to learn more about the flora and fauna.

Arbour Hill Cemetery Tour

Location: Arbour Hill Cemetary

The Military Cemetery holds a profound historical significance as the resting place of 14 leaders executed during the 1916 Easter Rising, including Patrick Pearse, James Connolly, and Major John MacBride. After their execution at Kilmainham Gaol, their remains were respectfully laid to rest in Arbour Hill.

Piper’s Corner is one of Dublin’s best bars in my humble opinion. It’s loud, lively and usually rammed, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Every evening from about 9pm you can find talented musicians joining together to play. If you’re very lucky you can even catch Damien Dempsey and Sean McKeon on an odd day!

Since its small start in 2006, TradFest has grown into a proper movement — keeping traditional music alive while making space for fresh voices, inclusion, and creativity. Whether you’re a trad purist or just trad-curious, there’s something here to get stuck into.

DMP Hike: Tibradden to Ballyedmonduff Cairn

A big one. This guided 16km hike takes in Tibradden Cairn, Fairy Castle, Three Rock and Ballyedmonduff Cairn, with Dublin Bay views on a clear day. Moderate to strenuous, and proper gear is required — but the payoff is huge.

Explore the Ancient Fourknocks Passage Tomb
Co. Meath | Open daily until 6pm (best before sunset)
If you’re up for a mini adventure, Fourknocks is one of Ireland’s oldest passage tombs — and you can unlock it yourself. You’ll need to collect a key from the nearby White family (cash deposit required), but stepping inside a 5,000‑year‑old tomb is worth the effort.

Bonus suggestion: call into La Cocina Cuevas for tacos on the way home.
