A Foundation of Proven Success

When we built Provenance, our goal was to launch the best L1 blockchain for financial services. We wanted to introduce disruptive, blockchain-fueled innovation to an increasingly outdated and exclusionary financial system. To that extent, we were incredibly successful.

What Comes Next: The Future of DeFI

In 2021, DeFi promised a future where financial access would be open by design. While revolutionary, this disruption came with several unsolved challenges: Regulatory hurdles; Poor user experiences; and most importantly, the best yield rates and financial instruments remained with institutions and millionaires.

Real world asset tokenization has started to change that. Regulatory tailwinds are here. UX for onchain tools are improving. Companies are leveraging blockchain to democratize access to assets that were only available to banks and “qualified investors.”

Several of our own chain partners are building ‘first-of-its-kind’ services that bring novel products backed by real-world assets into the hands of everyday people, without needing to be a DeFi power user.

At Provenance, we believe that the best onchain products won’t feel like Web3, but they’ll be just as fast, fair, and flexible. We’ve laid the groundwork in working with institutional powerhouses and FSPs to build the next generation of asset-backed DeFi products, but now it’s time to open the doors to everyone.

The Three Pillars of Our Transformation

As we begin our next chapter, we're motivated by three key focus areas that will fuel the next phase of our growth and help us start the next DeFi Summer → powered by Web3.5.

1. Interoperability of Assets:

   With Web3.5, you should be able to trade when you want, where you want, and how you want. That is only possible with a multi-chain future, and we’re actively building towards this by creating bridges that connect our innovations to other chains that you know and love… and we’ve partnered with just the right one to get us started.

2. Incubating dApps:

   Our goal here? To become the most supportive chain on the market. Open-sourced development and collaboration are the foundations of the new digital economy, and it’s how Web3.5 should be built too. We’ll be coming out with more initiatives aimed at attracting trailblazing developers, pioneers and founders to build on Provenance.

   We’re aiming for Fall 2025 to host our first IRL Builder Event!

3. Innovation, driven by unlocking RWA Use-Cases:

   We’re taking our $14B+ in RWA TVL and making them usable by building out new ways for anyone to access that value. Whether that’s through establishing chain partners or integrating projects that align with our vision into the Provenance ecosystem, we’re deeply committed to moving assets that were once exclusively reserved for institutions, and putting them into the hands of individuals.

✅ Governance Milestones: The HASH Upgrade Era

This quarter, Provenance governance delivered three impactful proposals that are setting the stage for a stronger, fairer, and more scalable ecosystem:

🔐 HASH Lockup (Passed May 22)

To meet global exchange listing requirements and align long-term incentives, the community passed a proposal that enforces a 48-month linear vesting for non-retail HASH holders with >100K tokens. Key features included:

• Immediate unlock of 1 month’s vesting upon implementation

• Retail participants (including those with >100K HASH bought on the open market) were fully exempt

• Snapshot taken May 19; upgrade executed May 22

• Approximately 3.5 - 4B HASH locked based on criteria

This proposal reflected strong community feedback to ensure fair treatment between retail and institutional participants while preserving onchain liquidity and long-term value alignment.

🔓 HASH Wallet Unlock #1 (Passed June 12)

To correct edge case errors from the lockup proposal, 33 accounts were granted full unlocks after successful appeals.

🔓 HASH Wallet Unlock #2 (Passed July 17)

In response to continued appeal submissions, a second unlock wave has just concluded. Additional accounts verified by the Foundation were removed from vesting status, showing a continued commitment to responsible, community-driven upgrades.

🔓 HASH Wallet Unlock #3 (Passed July 20)

This proposal rectified a singular omission from the first two unlock phases.

📋 Official $HASH Listings on Major Data Platforms

In a significant step towards greater market transparency and visibility, Provenance Blockchain is pleased to announce that its utility token, $HASH, is now officially tracked by CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, and RWA.io.

This development provides our community, investors, and partners with access to reliable, real-time data through the world's most trusted cryptocurrency data providers. The availability of $HASH on these platforms enhances accessibility and allows for independent analysis and monitoring of the token's market performance.

• CoinMarketCap & CoinGecko: Users can now access comprehensive market data, charting tools, and portfolio tracking features for $HASH.

• RWA.io: Our presence on this specialized platform is being updated by our Engineering team to include real-time data.

These listings are a foundational component of our strategy to broaden the reach and utility of the Provenance Blockchain ecosystem. We are actively pursuing further integrations to ensure comprehensive coverage across the digital asset landscape.

Q1 marked a transformative month for the Provenance Blockchain ecosystem, with major strides in governance, tokenomics, leadership, and community engagement. Here’s a breakdown of this past quarter’s biggest milestones and what they mean for the future of HASH and the broader Provenance network.

🔧 Governance & Tokenomics: A New Era Begins

On March 13, the community passed a landmark governance proposal that redefines how HASH functions within the ecosystem. The tokenomics update prioritizes decentralization, liquidity, and a sustainable long-term model.

Key ecosystem elements of the passed proposal include:

💰 Platform upgrades:

• Flat Network Fees: Gas fees are replaced with a flat USD-denominated fee, paid in HASH, simplifying user experience.

• Settlement Fees: Starting at 3.5 bps and lowering with volume growth. These will be funneled into a decentralized auction (HASH Market) for community benefit.

• Provenance Pulse: A soon-to-launch dashboard tracking on-chain activity including TVL, application engagement, and the latest HASH metrics.

🛡 Governance and security:

• Token Reallocation: 40% of Figure’s HASH holdings are being returned to the Foundation to support decentralization and ecosystem incentives.

• Validator Fees: 60% of the network fees will be going to support validators

💹 Liquidity, inflation, utility:

• Dynamic Inflation: Inflation adjusts from 1% to 52.5% depending on staking participation. With 60% of tokens staked, inflation drops to its minimum.

• Hash Market (Auction Platform): Stakeholders can bid on settlement fees using HASH or acquire HASH through auctions. Winning HASH bids are burned, reducing supply.

• Milestone-Based Rewards: Incentives tied to on-chain volume and asset metrics, with higher rewards for stakers and active participants.

TL;DR: A new token model will be implemented over the next several months—with flat fees, reduced supply, burn mechanics, and performance-based rewards, all designed to fuel a more decentralized, liquid, and community-owned future.

🧾 Q1 Validator Delegation Program Results Are In

The Provenance Blockchain Foundation is very pleased to share the Q1 validator delegation program results.  

As a Foundation this program is a very important component of demonstrating our commitment to supporting a diverse, high-quality validator community while maximizing our voice in governance, and further deepening the security and decentralization of the network.  In Q1 the Foundation delegated nearly half ($2.41B) of its HASH treasury to the program.  

The validator delegation program has two independent components, the baseline delegations and incremental delegations.

✅ Baseline Delegations

Validators must meet all of the following criteria to qualify:

• 99% or higher uptime

• Voted in at least one governance proposal

• Up-to-date and responsive to software releases

• Active for the entire quarter

Validators below the staking max who satisfied baseline requirements are as follows:

🌱 Incremental Delegations

Additional delegations were awarded to validators that contributed extra value to the Provenance ecosystem through at least one of the following:

• Aggregating CometBFT & Cosmos telemetry into a public Datadog dashboard

• Building, issuing, or managing financial assets on Provenance

• Contributing to open-source software

• Developing or operating a dApp

• Creating and sharing content to grow ecosystem adoption

Validators providing at least one of the above incremental benefits are eligible as follows:
