1/ Thursday Special: Büroschluss (Thur 18-04h - Free)

Weihnachten steht vor der Tür. Egal, ob Sie einfach feiern möchten oder eine gute Location für nach der Betriebsweihnachtsfeier suchen - der O Club ist am Donnerstag die perfekte Adresse für beides!

2/ Perle Pop Up (Fr - Sun 13-21h - Free)

Die ideale Gelegenheit, um noch Last-Minute-Weihnachtsgeschenke zu besorgen oder gemütlich einen Punsch zu genießen. Neben dem Pop-up-Markt werden verschiedene kreative Workshops angeboten, wie beispielsweise Schmuckherstellung oder Kerzengießen. Die Veranstaltung findet in der Ottakringer Brauerei statt.

3/ Living Room Concert (Fr 20h - €5)

Im Café Siebenstern findet diesen Freitag ein besonderes Konzert des Trios Dunkhel statt. Mit der Kombination aus Klarinette, Cello und elektronischen Klängen erschafft das Ensemble spannende Klänge!

4/ Lights of Creation (Sun 18h - €18)

In der Votivkiche gibt es aktuell eine coole Lightshow mit Musik! Die Darbietung kombiniert innovative Lichteffekte mit eigens komponierter, stimmungsvoller Musik und schafft so eine einzigartige Atmosphäre, die alle Sinne anspricht.

5/ Christmas Classics Movie Breakfast (Sun 10:30 - €20)

Am Sonntag (Regen ist angekündigt! 🌧️) kann man es sich im Votivkino mit einem Frühstück und einem weihnachtlichen Film gemütlich machen!

Christmas is around the corner and for everyone who wants to have a banger of a party before the holiday starts, this might be the place to be. Perfect to go to if you are still in the mood for some dancing after the official company Christmas party! 🎅

2/ Perle Pop Up (Fr - Sun 13-21h - Free)

Are you like me and also don’t have all your Christmas gifts yet? Well maybe this could be a cool place to find some last minute gifts, the Perle Pop Up at Ottakringerbrauerei.

Next to selling a lot of hand made items, you can also join some workshops such as candle making jewellery making!

3/ Living Room Concert (Fr 20h - €5)

Christmas time around Vienna also always means a lot of music! One place where you can get a cozy concert is at Café Siebenstern this Friday. The trio “Dunkhel” will combine the sounds of clarinet, cello and electronics. 🎶 

4/ Lights of Creation (Sun 18h - €18)

I heard this one is pretty cool from some people that already went - The lights of creation. At the Votiv church, there will be a light show in combination with music that was written just for that event. Currently there are only tickets left for Sunday but there might be some more later next week!

5/ Christmas Classics Movie Breakfast (Sun 10:30 - €20)

Unfortunately the weather forecast is telling us it’s gonna rain on Sunday 🌧️ .

The only upside of rain in the city is that watching movies becomes more fun! 🙂 So why not check out the movie + breakfast + Christmas edition at the Votiv Kino on Sunday?

Beim Winter Art Markt gibt es coole Kunstwerke zu bestaunen oder kaufen, wie auch Live-Musik und Punsch! Außerdem in einer recht coolen Location. Vorbeischauen lohnt sich!

3/ Post Modern Jazz combined with EDM (Fr 20:15-23:30 - €12)

Am Freitag gibt es im Lot ein wildes Konzert der “Grandmothers favourite” wie auch “SquarEars”. Die ersten Band bewirbt sich als ‘modern sudoku jazz’ und SquareEars mischt elektonische und akustische Instrumente um einen neuen Sound zu erzeugen (Avant-Garde Experimental Electronic Dance Music).

4/ Charity Punsch at the Water (Sat 12-23h - Free)

Das Usus am Wasser veranstaltet einen Charity-Punsch-Markt. Neben einem Kinderprogramm gibt es auch einen Weihnachtsmarkt, Punschstände, ein Tischtennisturnier und natürlich tanzfreundliche Beats. Die Erlöse kommen einem guten Zweck zugute!

5/ Vienna Vintage Photo Fair (Sun 11-19h - Free)

Am 15. Dezember 2024, von 11 bis 19 Uhr wird das Fotomuseum WestLicht zum Treffpunkt für alle Liebhaber und Sammler von Fotografien aus drei Jahrhunderten. 20 Aussteller aus ganz Österreich und den Nachbarländern präsentieren originale Vintage-Fotografien und fotohistorische Raritäten, die man zu moderaten Preisen erwerben kann.

A pretty unique art, party festival. The concept? Showing what cocktail robotors can do and exploring the intersection of technology and hedonism! Should be fun for both alcoholics cocktail fans and tech enthusiasts. 🍸🤖

2/ Winter Art Markt (Fr-So 17-22h, 13-21h, 12-18h - Free)

The winter art market by the university for applied arts gives you a unique chance to get some cool art for affordable prices, drink Punsch and listen to some live music. Oh and it’s a pretty cool location as well!

3/ Post Modern Jazz combined with EDM (Fr 20:15-23:30 - €12)

Okay, definitely a bit out of the box. But if you also don’t really know what sodoku jazz is or when the last time was that you listened to some chill avant-garde experimental electronic dance music and you are interested to explore something new, this might just be the place to be!

The musicians looks pretty solid and the music definitely interesting! Vamos! 🥁 💃 

4/ Charity Punsch at the Water (Sat 12-23h - Free)

I mean at this point you might be sick of me with all the Punsch recommendations. However, there is one more really cool event taking place at Usus am Wasser. Not only is it for a good cause but it includes a children program, a table tennis tournament, a Christmas market and of course some nice beats!

Do you like browsing and getting unique insights into Vienna’s history? Why not check out the vintage photo fair this Sunday? You can not only browse those unique photos but also purchase them for moderate prices if you find one that you like!

Es gibt den Newsletter mittlerweile seit 100 Wochen und dieser Post ist der 99 Post. Mein Ziel mit diesem Newsletter war es euch immer die ausgefallensten Konzerte, besonderen Ausstellungen, wildesten Raves und alles was zu einer schönen Erfahrung führen kann in einer kompakten Form zu präsentieren.

1/ Thursday Special: This is Human (Thur 17, 19h - €9)

Beim This is Human Film Festival gibt es diesen Donnerstag im Schikaneder gleich 2 coole Filme zu sehen.

1. The Bubble (Start 17h) —> Eytan Fox' queere Interpretation von Romeo und Julia folgt der Liebesgeschichte zwischen dem Palästinenser Ashraf und dem Israeli Noam, die sich bei einem Checkpoint in der Westbank kennenlernen.

2. The Empty Sign (Start 19h) —> Die Filmemacherin und Anthropologin Kathryn Ramey kombiniert hundert Jahre altes Archivmaterial, Tourismus-, Agrar- und Propagandafilme mit zeitgenössischen Porträts von Künstler:innen und Aktivist:innen und bietet damit eine Reise durch die komplexen Ebenen der amerikanischen Besetzung Puerto Ricos.

2/ What a wonderful waste of time (Thur, Fr 20h - €15)

Im Ateliertheather gibt es am Donnerstagabend ein cooles Stück in einem kleinen Setting zu sehen. Was fragst du dich?

“What a wonderful waste of time beschäftigt sich mit der Figur des Narren, der in sich ambivalent ist: lustig und beängstigend, unterhaltsam und melancholisch, unantastbar und fragil, wichtig und unwichtig, vulgär und einfältig. Und gesellschaftskritisch. Der Narr spricht die Wahrheit, weil das sonst niemand tut.”

3/ Christmas Market + Tram museum (Fr - Sun 14-21h - Free)

In der Verkehrsremise gibt es einen richtig coolen Weihnachtsmarkt. Mit Konzerten von Ubahn Stars, einem Besuch vom Nikolo, einer Kasperlvorstellung und natürlich warmen Punsch.

4/ Winter Open Air Punsch Rave (Sat 16-22h - €10)

Am Samstag gibt es im U-Club einen coolen Winter Open Air Rave. Bei House, Minimal und Electro kann man das Tanzbein schwingen und natürlich den einen oder anderen köstlichen Punsch trinken!

5/ 🎄 Christmas tree for a good cause (Sun 10-17h - Free)

Ab Sonntag startet der VinziRast-Christbaumverkauf 2024. Prächtige Christbäume können auch dieses Jahr im Innenhof des VinziRast-mittendrin erworben werden. Jeder Baum zählt! Mit jedem Kauf eines Christbaums kommt die Hälfte der Einnahmen der VinziRast zugute!

This newsletter now exists for close to 100 weeks and in those 100 weeks, I wrote 99 posts. My goal has always been to show you some unexpected, nice and fun things to do. In my mind it’s always better to do something than not to do something - this newsletter has tried to encourage more people to explore the unique sides of our beautiful city and everything it has to offer!

In those 2 years, over 170k have seen my posts and I hope I could play a small part in creating some lasting memories for people.

For me this project has always just been for fun to give something back. However, after these 100 editions, I have decided that it’s time to move on from writing this newsletter. 1/ Thursday Special: This is Human (Thur 17, 19h - €9)

At the ‘This this is Human’ film festival, there are two interesting movies played this Thursday at the Schikaneder (great bar + cool cinema!).

1. The Bubble (Start 17h) —> Eytan Fox' queere interpretation of Romeo and Julia follows the love story between Palestinian AShraf and Israeli Noam who meet at a checkpoint at the west bank.

2. The Empty Sign (Start 19h) —> The movie combines hundreds of years of film material around tourism and propaganda movies with portraits of artists and activist. Trough this, it gives unique insights into the American occupation of Puerto Rico.

2/ What a wonderful waste of time (Thur, Fr 20h - €15)

At ‘Ateliertheather’ there will be a unique theather piece in a cozy setting. The main theme is focused on what is a joker in our society and how that role fits into our society.

3/ Christmas Market + Tram museum (Fr - Sun 14-21h - Free)

The cozy Christmas market at the public transport museum is definitely a cool place to visit in winter! Of course you get all the normal Christmas market things such as Punsch and Glühwein. Next to that, it’s a very unique location and on Friday and Saturday there will be concerts a children’s program and more!

4/ Winter Open Air Punsch Rave (Sat 16-22h - €10)

For all the party people, on Saturday there will be a cool open air rave at Karlsplatz (U-Club). Next to being able to drink some tasty Punsch to stay warm, you will be able to listen to some fine house, minimal and electro DJs.

5/ 🎄 Christmas tree for a good cause (Sun 10-17h - Free)

Want to get your Christmas tree this weekend? If you do, check out the VinziRast! There you can buy a high quality Christmas tree and the best part of it is that half of the buying price goes towards a good cause!

Der "WEIHN8SMARKT" kehrt mit handverlesenen Vintage-Schätzen, Kunst und Vinyl in die Gumpendorferstraße 22 zurück, wo neben Shopping auch sieben DJs für die perfekte Atmosphäre bei Drinks und Kuchen sorgen.

4/ Open House im ReaLLabor (Sat 14-21h - Free)

Das Reallabor Fassfabrik lädt zum OPEN HOUSE und vernetzt Bürger*innen mit Akteurinnen aus Kunst, urbaner Produktion und Forschung und schafft Raum für Dialog und Kreativität.

Teil des Programms sind eine Führung, ein Workshop in dem du lernst deine eigene Schokolade zu machen und einige Live Konzerte!

The Blue Bird festival turns 20 years old and is an absolute gem of a festival for everyone who enjoys a festival full of singers/songwriters that perform folk, indie and alternative music.

2/ Central American Film Festival (Thur-Sat - Various times)

Check out this film festival where you get a chance to dive into a different culture. Next to the short movies, there will be a full program that includes live music, tropical cocktails and performances.

The festival will take place at METRO Kinokulturhaus statt.

3/ Silent Disco + Ice Skating (Fr 17:30-22h - €13)

Alright, winter is here and let’s face it, the grey cold is not always the most exciting time in Vienna. That is why it’s good to spice things up every now and again. A great option to do so is the Ö3 silent disco.

There you get your skates, a silent disco headset and off you go. A perfect mix of ice skating and party.

The international book fair is a paradise for book lovers. With various readings, discussions and of course book, the fair is a great way to escape the grey Vienna weather. Oh and it’s free for everyone under 18 years old.

2/ De/Semble Festival (Thur-Sun - €25)

Dieses Wochenende gibt es wieder das De/Semble Festival. Dabei gibt es ein tolles Programm mit vielen Künstlern mit dem Fokus auf Jazz und angrenzenden Musikrichtungen.

3/ Rotlich Festival (Whole weekend - Free)

Das ROTLICHT ist ein internationales Festival für analoge Fotografie, welches 2024 zum vierten Mal in Wien stattfindet und sich mittler-weile zu einem kreativen Fixpunkt der analogen künstlerischen Fotografie in Zentraleuropa entwickelt hat

4/ Vegan Plant (Sat, Sun - 10-19h - €15)

Neben inspirierenden Kochshows und spannenden Vorträgen wird es dieses Jahr auch ein vielfältiges Yogaprogramm geben. Mit dabei unter anderem eine Paneldiskussion zum Thema Ernährung & Sport, ein Vortrag von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Tilman und Back- und Kochshows u.a. von Balkan Vegan und NomNom by Melli.

Natürlich gibt es auch viele Köstlichkeiten auszuprobieren! 🙂 🥕

4/ Vegan Plant (Sat, Sun - 10-19h - €15)

Want to try some nice vegan food and learn more about cooking it? Check out the vegan plant festival at the Marx Halle this weekend!

2/ Vienna Art Week (Whole Weekend)

Die VIENNA ART WEEK wurde 2005 gegründet und rückt jedes Jahr im November Wiens vielfältige Kunstszene ins Scheinwerferlicht. Gemeinsam mit rund 70 Programmpartner:innen bietet das Festival eine Woche lang inspirierende Kunst von der Gegenwart bis zum Barock und hat sich mit jährlich an die 30.000 Besucher:innen zu einem der wichtigsten Kunstevents im Donauraum entwickelt.

3/ Craft Beer Festival (Fr, Sat 16-23h - €15)

Am Freitag und Samstag gibt es in der Marx Halle das Wiener Craft Beer Festival. Wer also mehr über Craft Bier lernen möchte oder einfach einige besondere Biere verkosten will, der ist hier richtig aufgehoben.

4/ Kletzmore Festival (Whole Weekend - €28)

Das KlezMore Festival in Wien ist ein jährlich stattfindendes Festival für Klezmer- und jüdische Musik. Hier gibt es einige sehr spannende Konzerte zu sehen und es bietet die Möglichkeit in eine andere Kultur einzutauchen.

5/ Design Fair Blickfang (Whole weekend - €12)

Die Blickfang in Wien ist eine Designmesse im MAK, bei der ausgewählte Designer ihre Produkte aus den Bereichen Möbel, Mode, Schmuck und Wohnaccessoires direkt an Endkunden präsentieren und verkaufen. Spannend um neue Einblicke in Design zu gewinnen! 🙂

Am 31. Oktober 2024, passend zu Halloween, lädt der Sprecher und Autor Stefan Franke zu einer True Crime-Lesung ins Café Korb ein. Im Mittelpunkt steht die wohl berüchtigtste Mordserie der Geschichte: Jack the Ripper, oder wie er damals in den Wiener Zeitungen genannt wurde, „Jack der Aufschlitzer“.

2/ Zentralfriedhof Tour (Friday 10-18h - Free)

Der Wiener Zentralfriedhof ist nicht nur Wiens größter Friedhof sondern bietet auch eine wunderschöne Spaziergelegenheit im Grünen. Man kann die verschiedenen Teile des Friedhofs bewundern und die Grabstätten von Menschen wie Beethoven, Falco und vielen mehr besuchen.

3/ Wienerlieder (Sat 21h - Free)

Das Erste Wiener Thromboseorchester ist ein vierköpfiges Ensemble, bestehend aus Gesang, Gitarre, Violine, Bassgitarre und Akkordeon, das sich dem neuen Wienerlied verschrieben hat. Mit ihrem Mundartliedern bringen sie dem Publikum witzige, scharfzüngige Geschichten nahe, deren Protagonisten nicht immer Sympathie erwecken, dafür aber in jedem die ein oder andere Erinnerung an die lieben Mitmenschen kommen lassen.

4/ Vintage Pop Up (Thur-Sat 14:30-19h - Free)

Im ‘Dogs Run Free’ gibt es dieses Wochenende einen richtig coolen Vintage Pop Up store mit einer coolen Afterparty!

5/ Anime Messe (Thur-Sun 14-01h - €29)

Bock mal auf was anderes? Die YuniCon Messe ist eine Anime- und Manga-Convention, die in Wien stattfindet. Sie bietet eine Plattform für Fans von Anime, Manga, Cosplay und Gaming, um sich auszutauschen und zu vergnügen.

In der Semmelweisklinik im 18 Bezirk gibt es dieses WE einen coolen Second Hand / Vintage Markt! Auch eine sehr sehenswerte Location!

5/ Kürbisbauernmarkt am Himmel (Sat, Sun 10-18h - Free)

Der Spaziergang auf den Himmel ist nicht nur sehr schön im Herbst sondern bei der Ankunft wird man dieses Wochenende von einem Bauernmarkt empfangen. Bei dem Markt gibt es Kulinarik, Möglichkeiten Kürbisse zu schnitzen, Musik und mehr.

Der Ausflug lohnt sich auch mit Kindern!

1/ Thursday Special: Viennale Baby (Thur 18:15 - €10)

Austria’s largest film festival is happening. The atmosphere is always so you should definitely not miss it! A great chance to check it out is this Thursday at Gartenbaukino. There you have 2 screenings. Once at 18:15 (Movie is called Moon) and second at 21:15 with the movie called ‘The Damned’.

If you are not free on Thursday, make sure to check the program!

2/ Gürtelconnection (Fr 17h-4h - Free)

This Friday there will be another edition of ‘Gürtelconnection’. What is it? Well, over 50 acts & DJs, 14 locations and 1 entry which is a donation to a good cause. This event is a great opportunity to walk along the Gürtel and check out some of the nightlife there.

3/ Mak Day (Sat 10-18h - Free)

The museum for applied arts is having their yearly museum day. With it, you have free entry, some guided tours and get some unique insights into the museum. Best part? It’s all for free! The main topics are design!

4/ Second Händ Vintage Markt (Fr, Sat 15-22h - Free)

Need some new fall/winter things? Well check out this second hand market at Semmelweisklinik in the 18th district. Market looks pretty good and the location is also really interesting!

5/ Kürbisbauernmarkt am Himmel (Sat, Sun 10-18h - Free)

Perfect time for a small walk on the weekend to Himmel! From there you have a great view over Vienna and there will be a pumpkin farmers market. Next to being able to buy a whole array of different food, you can also carve pumpkins, there will be live music and more!

Perfect to do with the kids as well! 🙂

1/ Thursday Special: Tapas & a concert (Thur 17-22h - Free)

This Thursday there will be a free concert at Wildling. Next to the concert, you can eat some tapas at the restaurant. Keep in mind, the last orders for the kitchen are at 18:30 and the concert then starts at 20h. The tapas are not for free but the entrance to the concert is. 🎤 🥣.

2/ Second Hand + DJs + Fotobox (Fr 15-19h - Free)

Looking for a new outfit or just want to browse trough some vintage items while listening to a DJ and sipping a cocktail? 🙂 Well, you are in luck, this Friday there will be a vintage market for the 20th birthday of the Humana. You also get -20% on all items.

3/ Vienna Tea Festival (Sat, Sun 10-18h - €9)

Definitely a bit out of the box, but that is what I am here for! Check out the tea festival where you can try out a bunch of different teas, join workshops or listen to talks presentations on different tea related topics such as how is tea harvested, what are the working conditions or what is the cultural significance in different countries? 🫖 🍵 

Oh if you think tea is not all that exciting, there is also the Vienna BBQ festival that you can check out! 🍖 

4/ Viennale (Whole weekend - €11)

Austrians largest film festival will start this weekend! With more than 92k visitors and a range of awesome niche films, this is a must visit for all movie lovers. Not only are there awesome movies to watch but the atmosphere around the festival is also always special! Can highly recommend! 🎥 

5/ Addicted to Vintage (Sat, Sun 11-18:30 - Free)

Alright I know this is already the second vintage thing I am recommending this weekend but this one just seems to good to pass up on. The vintage market impresses with a mix of things from the 50s-70s and fashion from the 50-90s. You can find unique lamps, fashion, small furniture, vinyls and a bunch of other ‘fun’ items! 🙂

Im Rahmen des Repair Festival gibt es jedes Jahr richtig coole Ausstellungen, Vorträge und Workshops! Am Donnerstagabend geht das Festival offiziell mit einem Konzert los. Anschließend kann man noch gratis 2 Ausstellungen anschauen:„Touch & Feel – Qualität in der Mode“ und „Außen hui, und innen pfui – das Innenleben von Polstermöbeln“.

2/ Art Festival (Thur-Sun 10-02h - €18)

Bei dem interdisziplinären Kunstfestival des Kollektiv Kaorle gibt es verschiedene Ausstellungen, Workshops, Tanzvorstellungen und Musik. Der Eintritt ist zwischen 18-19h gratis und danach ist die Spendenempfehlung €18. Ein Blick ins Programm lohnt sich! 🧑‍🎨 💃 🎶 

3/ Free Living Room Concert (Fr 20h - Free)

Am Freitagabend gibt es im Café Siebenstern ein gratis Konzert der Künstlerin Conny Poell. Auf jeden Fall ein cooles und gemütliches Setting. Also, wenn Dir die Musik gefällt, solltest du das Konzert nicht verpassen!

4/ Burger Festival (Fr-Sun 15-22h - €16)

Viele verschiedene Burger, eine “Strong man show”, DJs, gratis Drinks und laut Wetterbericht ☀️ .

5/ Breakfast in the cinema (Sun 10:30 - €20)

Ein richtig cooles Konzept gibt es diesen Sonntagfrüh im Votivkino. Dort bekommt man nämlich ein Frühstück und einen Film in einem Ticket (auch vegan möglich). Der Film ist, so wie ich das verstehe, eine Überraschung! ☕️ 🥐

1/ Thursday Special: Opening re:pair Festival (Thur-18:30 - Free)

As part of the re:pair festival, there will be awesome workshops, exhibitions, talks and music! This Thursday is the official opening day. As part of the opening day, there will be a free concert. Afterwards, you can still check out two free exhibitions called:„Touch & Feel – Quality in Fashion“ und „The insides of furniture“.

2/ Art Festival (Thur-Sun 10-02h - €18)

The interdisciplinary art festival that is organized by collective Kaorle will offer different exhibitions, workshops, dance performances and a party with some DJs! Entry on the weekend is for free between 18-19h and afterwards it’s donation based. 🧑‍🎨 💃 🎶 

3/ Free Living Room Concert (Fr 20h - Free)

This Friday there will be a free concert at Café Siebenstern by the artist Conny Poell. The setting is pretty relaxed and if you enjoy her music, this is definitely a place you should check out!

4/ Burger Festival (Fr-Sun 15-22h - €16)

It’s pretty straight forward. A burger festival with music, a strong man competition free drinks and of course a lot of burgers! Maybe a bit savage but probably fun!

5/ Breakfast in the cinema (Sun 10:30 - €20)

This one caught my eye and looks pretty awesome for a Sunday morning. For 20€ you get a breakfast and a ticket to a movie. Not sure which movie they will show but be ready for a cool surprise! ☕️ 🥐 📽️

Willkommen im Oktober! Trotz des 4/10 Wetters, gibt es diese Woche ein paar richtig coole Veranstaltungen. Read on!

1/ Thursday Special: Linoldruck Workshop (Thur 17h - €55)

Der Workshop ist, bedingt durch die Materialien etwas teurer, aber definitiv mal was anderes. Außerdem kann man sich danach seinen Druck mit nachhause nehmen oder auf Ebay als ‘Kunst’ verkaufen! 😉 

2/ Japanische Filmtage (Thur-Sun -€10)

Das Wochenende ist verregnet - der perfekte Moment, um ins Kino zu gehen! Wer sonst auch keine Lust hat auf abgelutschte Superhelden Filme, kann ja vielleicht die Welt der japanischen Filme für sich entdecken?

4/ Lange Nacht der Museen (Sat 18-24h - €17)

Am Samstag findet wieder die lange Nacht der Museen statt! Perfekt um in einem angenehmen und etwas energetischeren Setting die Wiener Museen zu erkunden.

3/ FM4 Unlimited im Wiener Prater (Fr 18-06h - €15)

Eine Mischung aus einer Roller Disco, Fahrgeschäften, Zugang zu den ‘Prater Clubs’ (Pratersauna + VIE i PEE). Klingt nach einem abwechsungsreichen Abend! 🎢 🛼 🪩 

5/ Stürmische Tage (Sat, Sun 13-22h - Free)

Die 'Stürmischen Tage' in Stammersdorf markieren das Ende der Weinfestsaison an der Wiener Stadtgrenze und den Abschied des Sommers.

Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung steht natürlich das Verkosten des frischen Sturms, aber auch für die kleinsten wird für beste Unterhaltung gesorgt.

Sturmwein, geröstete Kastanien, authentische Heurigenkost, live Musik, festliche Kirtagsstimmung, Entspannung und vielseitige Unterhaltung für Groß und Klein.

Lust dich 1 Stunde die Woche ehrenamtlich zu engagieren? Hier gibt es ein cooles Projekt bei dem du Kindern 1x pro Woche für 1 Stunde etwas vorliest um ihnen spielerisch die deutsche Sprache näherzubringen.

Welcome to October and it’s lovely weather! 😢 Despite the weather, there are some banger events happening, so read on!

1/ Thursday Special: Lino Print Workshop (Thur 17h - €55)

Definitely on the more expensive side but looks like a cool opportunity to do something new and I guess the materials are just a bit more expensive. Added benefit is that you can take home your work and if you are very talented maybe even sell it as ‘art’ on Ebay 😉 

2/ Japanese Film Festival (Thur-Sun -€10)

With the current weather forecast, the weekend seems perfect for a relaxed movie night? In case you are also a bit sick of yet another super hero blockbuster, maybe it’s a good opportunity to check out a Japanese film festival?

4/ Museum Night (Sat 18-24h - €17)

Once a year there is a ‘long night of museums’. This means you only have to buy one ticket and can visit almost all museums in Vienna for the better part of the evening/night! Usually this event has a really nice crowd and energy to it. Of course you can also join with kids!

3/ FM4 Unlimited at Wiener Prater (Fr 18-06h - €15)

A mixture of roller skating disco, different roller coaster, and night clubs - for sure an eventful evening!! 🎢 🛼 🪩 

5/ Stormy Days (Sat, Sun 13-22h - Free)

The event ‘Stürmische Tage’ in Stammersdorf marks the end of the wine season. It’s a big celebration of the departure of the summer and there will be fresh ‘Sturm’ (partially fermented young wine), live music and even a kids program.

P.S. I am spontaneously going to this live set / concert on Sunday. Anyone wants to join?

Die Wiener Karlskirche lädt zum OPEN CHURCH RAVE ein! ⛪️🎶. Perfekt um den vorletzten Sommertag zu feiern! Musikrichtung: Techno/Trance.

Alternativ gibt es übrigens ein sehr nettes Afterwork und Pop-up von der Vinzi Rast!

2/ freudewien! (Thur-Sun 11-18h - Free)

Am Schwarzebergplatz gibt es dieses Wochenende ein Foodtruck Festival. Neben guten Essen, gibt es auch DJs und ein Kinderkarussell!

3/ Slash Film Festival (Whole weekend, €10€)

Dieses Wochenende startet das Slash Festival für fantastische Filme! Wer also Lust auf einen besonderen Kinobesuch hat am Wochenende sollte einen Blick ins Programm werfen! 🎬️ 

4/ Erntefest (Sat 09:30 -18h - Free)

Mal wieder etwas das etwas ‘out of the box’ ist. Am Samstag feiert das Welttellerfeld das Erntefest. Im Rahmen davon, gibt es ein ziemlich cooles Programm, bei dem man das Projekt kennenlernen kann aber auch einen Yoga Workshop, einen Kochworkshop, einen Landwirtschaftsworkshop und eine Live Band.

5/ Vienna Design Week (Whole Weekend)

Im Rahmen der Vienne Design Week, gibt es viele tolle Ausstellungen, Führungen Workshops und Präsentationen. Die Design Week hat auch viele Teilnehmende Veranstaltungsorte und bietet sich so an was Neues kennenzulernen! Ein Blick ins Programm lohnt sich sehr!

1/ Thursday Special: Open Church Rave (Thur 19-24h - Free)

Enjoy the second last official summer day with a nice rave at the Karlskirche in the center of Vienna! Word of warning (our encouragement), there will be mostly techno and trance music played!

Alternatively there is also a nice after work and small pop up by the fantastic organization Vinzi Rast!

2/ freudewien! (Thur-Sun 11-18h - Free)

This weekend, there will be a food truck festival at Schwarzenbergplatz. Next to food, there will also be music and a children carousel.

3/ Slash Film Festival (Whole weekend, €10€)

This weekend the Slash Film festival kicks off. The festival focuses on fantasy films that you might otherwise not see in the cinema! 🎬️ 

4/ Harvest Fair (Sat 09:30 -18h - Free)

Something a little bit out of the box but something that definitely caught my eye: The ‘Tellerfeld’ is organizing a small harvest fair with workshops such as a yoga workshop, a cooking workshop, a farmers workshop and even a live band!

Looks like a cool experience!

5/ Vienna Design Week (Whole Weekend)

As part of the Vienna Design Week, there will be a lot of awesome small exhibitions, workshops, presentations and guided tours across different venues in Vienna! Definitely worth checking out the agenda!!

Mein Highlight dieses Wochenende ist das Parallel. Das Kunst Festival bring Kunst, Musik, Party und Performances in einem ziemlich coolen Ort zusammen, dem Otto Wagner Areal.

2/ World Press Photos Exhibition (Fr-Sun 11-19h - €12)

Dieses Wochenende geht die World Press Photo Ausstellung im Westlich los. Dort kann man die besten Presse Fotos von 2024 sehen und gewinnt globale Einblicke in die Weltgeschichte.

3/ Opening Event WienWoche (Fr 18-04h - Free)

Am Freitag geht die WienWoche los! Das Hauptthema dieses Jahr: ‘THE NON- CITIZEN MOVEMENT’. Bei der Eröffnung geht es um Inklusion, wie Leute sich selbst organisieren und ihre Erfahrungen teilen. Und natürlich wird auch gefeiert!

4/ Free Live Concert (Fr 18h - Free)

Am Freitag am Krimhildplatz feiert das Momentum seinen 5 Geburtstag! Zu dem Anlass, gibt es ein gratis Konzert vom ‘Schmusechor’.

5/ Japanische Sticktechnik lernen (Sat 14-17h - Free)

Am Samstag gibt es als Teil des re:pair Festival einen coolen Workshop über Sashiko. Sashiko eine japanische Sticktechnik, die für gelebte Nachhaltigkeit steht. Auch wenn sie sich in Japan von einer einfachen Reparatur- zu einer komplexen Mustertechnik entwickelt hat, geht es in diesem Workshop nicht um technische Perfektion, sondern um die Freude am eigenständigen Reparieren.

Das Re:pair Festival hat übrigens generell einige coole Workshops!

1/ Thursday Special: Parellel Vienna 2024 (Thur - Sun 13- 06h - €15)

My personal highlight this week is the Parallel art festival. It perfectly combines art with performances, food and parties! Not only that but it is hosted at the icon Otto Wagner Areal!

Definitely worth checking out!

2/ World Press Photos Exhibition (Fr-Sun 11-19h - €12)

Starting this weekend there will be the World Press Photo Exhibition at Westlicht. Check out the best press photos of 2024 to get new insights into some of the most important global events of the year.

3/ Opening Event WienWoche (Fr 18-04h - Free)

This Friday there will be the opening event of the WienWoche. The event is about celebrating diversity and creativity. This year, our festival theme is THE NON- CITIZEN MOVEMENT, which highlights the importance of understanding and rejoicing in the challenges faced by activists and artists.

The opening event LOUD STAGES, CROWDED SPACES is about inclusiveness, self-organizing, sharing struggles and last, but not least, celebration.

4/ Free Live Concert (Fr 18h - Free)

This Friday there will be the 5 year anniversary of ‘Momentum’. To celebrate this, there will be a free concert by ‘Schmusechor’ at the Krimhildplatz which is located in the Niebelungenviertel. The area itself is definitely also nice to explore! 🙂 

5/ Learn Japanese embroidery (Sat 14-17h - Free)

This Saturday, as part of the re:pair festival, there will be a cool workshop about Sashiko. Sashiko is a Japanese form of embroidery that is focused on sustainability.

In general there are a couple of pretty awesome workshops and talks as part of the Re:pair Festival. Definitely worth checking out!

1/ Thursday Special: Calle Libre Block Party (Thur 16-22h - Free)

Als Teil des Calle Libre Festivals, gibt es am Donnerstag in und zwischen der Superbude einen Graffty Jam und Live HipHop Musik.

Das Calle Libre Street Art Festival findet übrigens noch bis zum Samstag statt und als Teil des Festivals gibt es tolle Workshops und Ausstellungen.

2/ Vienna Coffee Festival (Fr-Sun 10-18h - €18)

Beim Coffee Festival gibt es Workshops über wie man den perfekten Kaffee braut, Bagel Workshops und ganz viele Aussteller bei denen man mehr über Zubehör und Kaffee selbst lernen und kaufen kann!

Wer keinen Bock aufs Coffee Festival hat, kann übrigens auch zum Cocktail Festival gehen, das schaut auch nicht schlecht aus!

3/ Raindorfgassenfest 2024 (Fr, Sat 14-22h - Free)

Das Raindorfgassenfest hat Tradition und ist wohl das größte Straßenfest der Stadt!

Im Programm gibt es Live Musik auf 2 Bühnen und Kindervorstellungen auf einer extra Bühne!

4/ Waves Festival (Thur-Sat -€39)

Dieses Wochenende findet wieder das Waves Festival statt. Das Festival verbindet Workshops und Vorträge mit dem Schwerpunkt ‘East meets west’. Zusätzlich gibt es ziemlich viele verschiedene sehr coole Bands und Künstler*innen die performen.

5/ Musik am Fluss (Sun 19h - Free)

Am Sonntag gibt es in der Venediger Au den offiziellen Nachholtermin des Rock/Indie Künstlers fiio. Wer also nochmal ein cooles Outdoor Konzert erleben möchte, sollte vorbeischauen!

1/ Thursday Special: Calle Libre Block Party (Thur 16-22h - Free)

As part of the Calle Libre street art festival there will be a ‘graffity jam’ as well as some live music (hiphop) at and around the Superbude in the 2nd district.

In general, the Calle Libre Street Art Festival is still taking place until Saturday and they offer a lot of cool exhibitions and workshops! So go check out their program! 🙂 

2/ Vienna Coffee Festival (Fr-Sun 10-18h - €18)

Want to learn how to make the perfect coffee, join workshops check out the latest gear and just drink coffee until you hit that anxiety level? Why not check out the coffee festival then? 🙂 

Oh in case you are not a fan of coffee, this weekend there will also be the Cocktail Festival!

3/ Raindorfgassenfest 2024 (Fr, Sat 14-22h - Free)

The Raindorfgassenfest (street festival) has a lot of tradition and is probably Vienna’s largest street festival! Listen to live music on 2 stages and enjoy some performances aimed at kids between 5-10 on the thirds stage!

4/ Waves Festival (Thur-Sat -€39)

The waves festival uniquely combines workshops, performances and live music. Over the weekend there will be various presentations and workshops with the focus on ‘East meets west’ as well as A LOT of pretty awesome musical acts.

Definitely worth checking out the program!

5/ Music at the River (Sun 19h - Free)

This Sunday there will be one final performance as part of the music at the river series. At the Venediger Au, der will be a concert by the rock/indie performer fiio. Check out his music here.

1/ Thursday Special: DJ + OpenAir Cinema (Thur 19-22h - €12)

Ab 19h gibt es am Kino am Dach, direkt auf der Hauptbibliothek einen DJ, Snacks, Drinks und ab 20:30 den Film ‘Boyhood’ zu sehen (IMDB Rating 7,9). Trailer zum Film gibt es hier.

2/ Fashion Talks (Fr 19-20h - Free)

Bock mal auf was anderes? Am Freitag gibt es einen spannenden Vortrag als Teil der Vienna Fashion Week. Thema ist die Visionen für die Zukunft der heimischen Modeindustrie und ein Rückblick auf das Kunsthandwerk mit langer Tradition.

3/ Lange Nacht der Wiener Märkte (Fr 17-23h - Free)

Zum 3. Mal findet am Freitag die "Lange Nacht der Wiener Märkte" statt. Die Marktstandln werden auf allen teilnehmenden Märkten bis 23 Uhr geöffnet sein. Neben dem normalen Marktbetrieb gibt es ein buntes Programm mit Kunst und Kultur. Konzerte, Vorträge, Luftburgen und mehr!

4/ Gürtel Nightwalk (Sat 20-24h - Free)

Am Samstag, den 22.8. 1998 fand der erste gürtel nightwalk statt, mit OpenAir Bühnen bei den Lokalen B72, CHELSEA und rhiz.

Ein Vierteljahrhundert Stadt- und Popkulturgeschichte später, haben sich die teilnehmenden Lokale des nightwalk, dieses prototypischen Wiener Popfestes dort, wo die Musikkultur dieser Stadt alltäglich gelebt wird, vervielfacht.

5/ Theater im Park (Sun 19:30 - 22€)

Die Theater im Park Veranstaltungen gehen langsam aber sicher einem Ende zu! Jetzt gibt es noch einmal die Chance im Belvedere Park einige coole Künstler*innen zu sehen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich schon alleine für das Ambiente!

Am Sonntag um 19:30 geben zum Beispiel Molden und Seiler ein Konzert!

1/ Thursday Special: DJ + OpenAir Cinema (Thur 19-22h - €12)

On Thursday there will be a DJ, snacks, food and starting at 20:30 an openair cinema on the roof of the main library in Vienna. The movie they will show is called ‘Boyhood’ (IMDB Rating 7,9) and will be in English with German subtitles. You can check out the trailer here.

2/ Fashion Talks (Fr 19-20h - Free)

Want to explore something new? Why not learn a bit more about fashion? As part of the Vienna fashion week, there will be a talk around fashion at the MQ. The parts that will be discussed are the visions for the future of the domestic fashion industry and a look back at craftsmanship with a long tradition.

3/ Long Night of Vienna Markets (Fr 17-23h - Free)

For the 3rd time there will be the long night of Vienna markets happening. All of the traditional Austrian markets will be open until 23h and there will be a pretty awesome program of music, performances children program and more. Check out your local market in the agenda to see what exactly will be offered! 🙂 

4/ Gürtel Nightwalk (Sat 20-24h - Free)

This event started over 25 years ago and there will be open air stages in front of some of the clubs along the Gürtel. It’s always good fun to walk from one place to the next with hundreds of other people and explore some of the up and coming artists!

5/ Theater at the Park (Sun 19:30 - 22€)

This event series has been happening for the better part of the summer! If you also haven’t had a chance to visit any of the concerts or plays, maybe this weekend is a great opportunity! Not only do they have some really great artists that perform but the location itself is also magical!

One good option could for instance be the concert by Molden and Seiler on Sunday at 19:30!

Die 5 coolsten Veranstaltungen diese Woche in Wien.

1/ Thursday Special: Open Würstelstand Mic Night (Thur 19h - Free)

Open comedy mic night bei einem Würstelstand? Warum eigentlich nicht? Auf jeden Fall lustig um ein paar neue Leute kennenzulernen! 🌭 😂🍻 

2/ 🍷 Neustifter Kirtag (Thur-Sun - Free)

Das was das Oktoberfest in München ist, ist der Kirtag wohl in Wien. Mit über 100.000 Besucher*innen und 150 jährigen Geschichte, gehört der Kirtag mittlerweile sogar dem UNESCO Kulturerbe. Wer also Lust auf Lederhosen, Dirndl und Wein hat, ist hier richtig aufgehoben!

Geschichte des Kirtags für Interessierte:

Berühmt ist Neustift für seinen Kirtag. Dieser Brauch rührt aus der Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts: Damals zogen die Neustifter Winzer mit einer Erntedankkrone zu Kaiserin Maria Theresia und baten um Steuerfreiheit, nachdem sie schlechte Erträge in eine schwierige wirtschaftliche  Situation gebracht hatten. Und die Kaiserin erließ ihnen nicht nur die Zahlungen, sondern gab ihnen auch die Krone zurück, mit der Auflage, jedes Jahr einen Kirtag abzuhalten.

3/ Afrikatage (Whole Weekend - €13)

Bei den Afrikatagen kann gibt es einige Live Konzerte, gutes Essen und man kann Teile der afrikanischen Kultur besser kennenlernen. Das ganze lässt sich übrigens super mit Baden auf der Donauinsel kombinieren.

4/ Veganmania (Fr-Sun 14-19h- Free) 

Am Wochenende findet wieder das Veganmania Festival auf der Donauinsel statt. Perfekt um verschiedenste vegane Küche kennenzulernen. Dazu gibt es natürlich auch einige live Bands und DJs!

Natürlich wieder perfekt um das mit einem Sprung in die Donau zu verbinden.🏊️ 💦 

5/ Basketball 3×3 EM (Whole Weekend - €25)

Das Wochenende findet im Prater die EM für Frauen wie auch Männer im 3×3 Basketball statt. In der kleineren Formation ist das Spiel schneller und aufregender anzuschauen! Wer also mal Lust auf eine Sportveranstaltung hat, hat hier eine super Möglichkeit!

The 5 best events this week in Vienna

1/ Thursday Special: Open Würstelstand Mic Night (Thur 19h - Free)

This Thursday, there will be a open mic comedy night at one of the traditional saucage stands. The concept seems pretty unique and might be an awesome way to get to know some people have a beer, a saucage and hopefully a laugh.

2/ 🍷 Neustifter Kirtag (Thur-Sun - Free)

If Vienna had it’s own Oktoberfest, this would probably be it. Traditional Austrian outfits, wine instead of beer and over 150 years of tradition. With over 100.000 visitors, this is definitely a unique experience.

3/ Afrikatage (Whole Weekend - €13)

The Afrikatage combines African food, merchandise, music and other performances. It’s a great way to explore the continent’s culture!

4/ Veganmania (Fr-Sun 14-19h- Free) 

This weekend there will be another edition of the largest vegan food festival in Austria! The event will take place on Donauinsel and next to being able to explore new food, there will be live music!

Of course, perfect in combination with going for a quick swim in the Danube! 🏊️ 💦 

5/ Basketball 3×3 European Cup (Whole Weekend - €25)

This weekend there will be the European Cup in 3 against 3 basketball right at Prater. For all sports and especially basketball fans, this is an awesome opportunity to see some face paced and action packed games!

Direkt auf der Donauinsel gibt es am Mittwoch einen geilen Rave beim Himmel und Wasser! Man kann schon an Nachmittag kommen, eine kleine Runde schwimmen und danach bei House und Techno Musik ein kaltes Getränk genießen!

2/ OpenAir Cinema: Oppenheimer (Sat 20:30 - €12)

Am Kino am Dach direkt auf der Hauptbibliothek, gibt es diesen Samstag Oppenheimer in Originalfassung mit deutschen Untertiteln zu sehen. Der Film wie auch der Ort, sind auf jeden Fall sehr empfehlenswert!

🦟 Moskitospray ist auch empfehlenswert!

3/ Free Yoga Session at the Park (Sat 10-11:30 - Free)

🧘‍♀️🌳 Yoga im Park ist zurück in Mariahilf! 🌳🧘‍♀️ Finde Entspannung und körperliches und emotionales Wohlbefinden im Schatten alter Bäume im Esterházypark! 🌿 Die Yoga-Einheiten sind natürlich kostenlos und werden von professionellen Yogalehrer:innen geleitet. Sie sind damit auch für Anfänger:innen geeignet.

4/ Beerpong Tournament (Sat 16h - Free)

In der Ottakringerbrauerei findet derzeit das Bierfest statt. Als Teil davon, gibt es am Samstag ein gratis Bierpong Turnier das sicher als Teilnehmer wie auch als Zuschauer lustig ist! 🙂 🍺 

5/ A hike outside of Vienna (All Weekend)

Bei bis zu 33 Grad dieses Wochenende bietet sich eine Wanderung in die etwas kühleren Berge in der Nähe Wiens an!

Sehr empfehlenswert ist hierbei ein Ausflug auf die Rax. Dort kann man zwischen verschiedenen Entfernungen entscheiden man hat eine tolle Aussicht!

Für etwas erfahrenere Wanderer, kann ich auch einen Klettersteig empfehlen. Sets kann man sich beim Alpenverein ausborgen oder recht günstig beim Decathlon kaufen.

1/ Wednesday Special: Techno on the Insel (Wed 16-02h - Free)

Right on the Donauinsel, there will be a free open air rave at Himmel und Wasser! Starting at 16h in the afternoon, there will be some techno and house music and cold drinks.

Of course, you can always decide to take a small break from dancing and jump into the Danube to refresh yourself! 🙂 

2/ OpenAir Cinema: Oppenheimer (Sat 20:30 - €12)

At the roof of the main library in Vienna there is a pretty unique open air cinema. In case you haven’t seen it yet, this Saturday they will screen Oppenheimer in English with German subtitles.

🦟 If you do go, make sure to bring some mosquito spray!

3/ Free Yoga Session at the Park (Sat 10-11:30 - Free)

🧘‍♀️🌳 Yoga at the park is back in ‘Mariahilf’! 🌳🧘‍♀️ With a free session led by professional teachers, you can do something good for your body while meeting some new people and maybe even a new location (Esterházypark).

The session is suitable for beginners as well as more advanced people!

4/ Beerpong Tournament (Sat 16h - Free)

This Saturday there will be a free beerpong tournament at the Ottakringerbrauerei! This is part of the Beer festival that is currently happening there! 🙂 🍺 

5/ A hike outside of Vienna (All Weekend)

Part of the beauty of Vienna is that you can take a train or your car and be at the mountains in around 1h. This weekend is perfect to escape some of the city’s heat and go for a hike!

I can recommend hiking up the Rax! There are multiple path up and you can chose your own difficulty level. For more advanced hikers, you can even walk up a via ferrata! Make sure to bring the gear for that though. You can either rent it at the Alpenverrein or buy it for not too much at Decathlon.

1/ Thursday Special: Live Piano Concerts (Thur 19:30 - Free)

Am 8. August verwandelt sich die Piaristengasse in der Josefstadt wieder in die „PIANISTENGASSE“ und lädt ein, bei herausragenden musikalischen Beiträgen Platz, Stimmung und inspirierende Musik gleichermaßen zu genießen. Die Veranstaltung findet am Jodok-Fink-Platz im 8 Bezirk statt.

2/ Afrika Tage (Whole Weekend - €13)

Dieses Wochenende gehen die Afrikatage los. Mit verschiedenen Konzerten, traditionellen Tänzen und einer Vielzahl von Workshops gibt es jede Menge zu entdecken und zu erleben. Natürlich gibt es auch traditionelles afrikanisches Essen! 🙂 

Es lohnt sich vor 17h dort zu sein da dann die Karten bedeutend günstiger sind!

3/ Free Open Air Cinema (Fr 20:30 - Free)

Am Freitag gibt es im MQ den Film ‘IN THE BELLY OF A TIGER’ gratis zu sehen! Der Film ist in OmeU. 🙂 

4/ One Day Festival (Sat 13h-04h)

Am Samstag gibt es im Himmel und Wasser eine interessante Mischung aus Musik (Psytrance & Techno), Kunst und anderen performances wie zum Beispiel eine Fire-Show und einen Yoga Workshop.

Sicher etwas mehr auf der Hippi Seite aber die Location ist direkt am Wasser und man kann dort in der Gegend super eine Runde schwimmen gehen und bekommt auf jeden Fall ein paar coole Eindrücke!

5/ Kunst am Kanal (Fr-Sun 16-22h Free)

Live Konzerte, eine Yoga Session, DJs, “Drink and Paint” und ein Flohmarkt. All das gibt es bei Kunst am Kanal direkt am Donaukanal vor dem Werk. Mein persönlichs Highlight am Samstagabend die Band VEZZ 3.

6/ Kannst du (vor)lesen?

Meine Freundin beginnt gerade ein Projekt mit dem Ziel Kindern die nicht Deutsch als Muttersprache haben die Sprache spielerisch näher zu bringen. Bock auf eine neue Erfahrung und jemanden zu helfen? Meld dich jetzt als Freiwillige/r an! Hier kannst du dich anmelden, hier gibt es mehr info.

1/ Thursday Special: Live Piano Concerts (Thur 19:30 - Free)

This Thursday the Piaristengasse in the 8th district is transforming into the ‘Piano-istengasse’ and there will be free live concerts right at the Jodok-Fink-Platz starting ath 19:30. Looks pretty awesome!

2/ Afrika Tage (Whole Weekend - €13)

The largest Africa themed festival in Vienna is certainly the ‘Africa Days’ at the Donauinsel. With various concerts, traditional dances, workshops and of course a big array of different African food specials, the festival is fun for most age groups.

To get cheaper tickets, make sure to be there before 17h!

3/ Free Open Air Cinema (Fr 20:30 - Free)

This Friday there will be a nice open air cinema for free in the MuseumsQuartier where they will show the movie ‘IN THE BELLY OF A TIGER’ The movie is OmeU so also nice to watch for all internationals! 🙂 

4/ One Day Festival (Sat 13h-04h)

This Saturday there will be a small day festival at Himmel und Wasser. Next to music (psytrance & techno), there will be various other ‘happenings’ such as a fire-show, a flea market, a yoga workshop and other performances.

It’s located right at the Danube, so even if the festival is not quite your thing, it’s nice to drop by there for a bit, go for a swim, have some food and leave once you don’t feel like it anymore 🙂 

5/ Kunst am Kanal (Fr-Sun 16-22h Free)

I personally really like this festival that will happen right at the Donaukanal in front of ‘Das Werk’. With various live concerts, a yoga session, a flea market as well as a ‘Drink and Paint’ session, there is something for everyone. My personal highlight is the band VEZZ 3 on Saturday night.

1/ Thursday Special: Acoustic Live Concert (Thur 20-21h - Free) 

Am Donnerstagabend gibt es im Währingerpark zwischen 20 und 21h ein ziemlich cooles Konzert von den Soul-Blues Gitarrist Peter Kern. Peter Kern ist einer der besten Gitarristen Österreichs und stand bereits mit 15 regelmäßig auf allen Bühnen der Wiener Blues-Szene.

2/ Afriques Contemporary Art Festival (Whole weekend - Various prices)

Am Donnerstagabend geht auch das Afriques Contemporary Arts and Culture Festival los. Das Grand Opening ist gratis und als Teil des Festivals gibt es verschiedenste Musik, Kunst, und andere Kulturveranstaltungen.

3/ Open Air Rave (Sat 15-22h - €5)

Am Samstag gibt es im Porto Pollo einen OpenAir Day Rave. Bei angenehmen 27C° und direkt auf der Donauinsel, bietet sich das für alle elektronischen Musikliebhaber an das Tanzbein zu schwingen!

4/ Heimat bist du rechter Söhne (Fr & So 18:30-19:30 - Free)

Am Freitag gibt es die 1. Vorstellung des Theaterstücks im Reithofferpark im 15 Bezirk. Am Sonntag gibt es eine weitere Vorstellung im Hyblerpark im 10 Bezirk. Das Stück gibt Einblicke in Österreichs Nazi-Keller sowie rechtsextreme Netzwerke und zeichnet das Sittenbild einer Gesellschaft, die sich erneut stark nach rechts bewegt.

5/ Supermarkt (Sun 11-18h - Free)

Am Sonntag gibt es wieder mal einen Flohmarkt mit DJs, Tattoos, Essen und natürlich vielen 2nd Hand Stücken.

This Thursday there is a pretty awesome Austrian Soul/blues guitarist giving a free open air concert at Währingerpark. The event starts at 20h and is for free!

2/ Afriques Contemporary Art Festival (Whole weekend - Various prices)

Also starting on Thursday, there will be the grand opening of the Afriques Contemporary Arts and Culture Festival. The festival will have various events over the weekend such as concerts, performances and more. Check out the program or check out the grand opening on Thursday for free! 🙂 

3/ Open Air Rave (Sat 15-22h - €5)

This Saturday there should be another day of some sunshine! If you enjoy some electronic music and dancing outside, you should definitely check out the open air day rave at Porto Pollo. It’s perfect to also combine the rave with a quick swim in the Danube!

4/ Heimat bist du rechter Söhne (Fr & So 18:30-19:30 - Free)

Alright, this is a German free theater play but maybe this is a good way to practice the language! There will be two performances (for free). The first one is on Friday at Reithofferpark in the 15th district. The second will take place at Hyblerpark in the 10th district.

The topic of the play? Well, it’s about the far right movements and how they have emerged and taken hold of part of the Austrian society.

5/ Supermarkt (Sun 11-18h - Free)

With a rainy Sunday, the Supermarkt second hand market right at prater comes at the right time! With DJs, food, drinks, a tattoo artist and of course a whole lot of second hand items, this should be a fun event! 🙂
