What if I told you there's a way to engineer serendipity?

That luck isn't a lightning strike, but a harvest?

I'm breaking down the one framework that has opened more doors for me than any strategy, tactic, or hack. It’s the invisible force behind every "overnight" success story.

It’s called your Luck Surface Area.

In today’s agend, I will break it down into 3 versions I care about the most.

Talking about is not my favorite subjects, but I believe it’s similar to preparation in the opportunities’ engineering process.

Version 1: Business & Growth

In business, luck isn't magic, it's math.Your "Luck Surface Area" is the total number of serendipitous opportunities that can find you. It's not random; it's a function of your output and your audience.

The equation is simple: Luck = Value Created × People Told.

A great product in stealth mode (Value × 0) generates zero luck. A mediocre product with a megaphone (Low Value × High Audience) generates weak, fleeting luck. But a genuine solution (High Value) shared with a relevant audience (High Reach) massively expands your surface area for chance meetings, unexpected partnerships, and breakout opportunities.

Remember the rule: Luck = (High Value Creation x People Told x Distribution Channels)

Version 2: Community & Continuity

The strongest communities aren't built on funnels; they're built on serendipity. Your community's "Luck Surface Area" determines its ability to attract amazing members, the best partners, and opportunities organically.

Think of it as an equation: Community Luck = Value for Members × Shared Narrative.

The value is what you give them: connection, growth, belonging. The shared narrative is how you talk about it: your story, your wins, your inside jokes. This combo is your beacon.

When you consistently deliver value and your members become evangelists of your shared story, your surface area expands exponentially. You're not just managing a group; you're cultivating a gravitational pull that attracts the right people and the right luck, effortlessly.

For the final version, it’s about personal betterment.

Version 3: Life & personal development

I think luck finds people. Truth is, people build landing pads for luck.

It’s like when you build a good landing page to sell your offer.

The more it’s optimized, with all the necessary elements, it connverts!

The same as when you build your luck. You structure it in advance.

Your personal "Luck Surface Area" is your openness to new connections and opportunities. It’s not about being extroverted; it’s about being engaged.

The framework is simple: Personal Luck = Curiosity × Generosity.

Curiosity drives you to learn, explore, and meet new people. Generosity is your default mode, sharing knowledge, making introductions, updating connections, and adding value without an immediate ROI. Imagine making content for 10 years? Yeah, I done it.

Making money is part of the business, but a transaction isn’t everything. True I made my first 9,000 euros in one single year (2021) for different clients, but it’s a result.

This isn't transactional. It's chemical. Curiosity compounds your knowledge; generosity compounds your reputation. Together, they form a compound interest of serendipity. The more you invest, the more "lucky" you become.

Three simple equations to remember:

1. Value Creation x People Told x Distribution Channels

2. Community Luck = Value for Members × Shared Narrative

3. Personal Luck = Curiosity × Generosity

Focus isn’t about saying yes to the right things. It’s about saying no to everything else.

In business and life, focus is what separates noise from progress. It’s the difference between being busy and being meaningful.

Here’s how I keep laser-focused. Every quarter I create what I call a Focus Document.

It’s a simple Google Doc with two columns:

Personal Growth | Business & Work

Under Personal Growth, I write my personal goals as mini-projects. Then, I break each into tasks and subtasks. Clean. Clear.

Under Business & Work, I list each project, along with goals, challenges, must-solve issues, and ideas for solutions. No fluff, just what moves the needle.

This document becomes my compass. I revisit it weekly. It grounds me, reminds me of what truly matters, and cuts through the clutter.

You don’t need complex systems. You need clarity. Try building your Focus Document, it might just change your trajectory.

Consider a “Member of the Month” section, by highlighting a different member in each issue, you can help foster personal connections.

Create The Collaborative Section

Encourage community engagement by adding a collaborative section to your newsletter. Use this space to publish articles, photos, and other updates submitted by members. You could also include a “Letters to the Editor” feature — it’s an opportunity for community-led companies, nonprofit agencies to share information on their mission and goals, local business leaders to discuss topics of interest to the public and more. A word of caution, though: Discourage political posts and topics that may lead to negativity and disagreements.

Include a contact person’s name and email address in the newsletter to make it easy for the public to share their achievements.

Cultivate a welcoming voice

The voice of your newsletter should reflect the values of your community. Use inclusive language that resonates with your audience. A warm, approachable tone can make readers feel more connected and eager to engage. Personal anecdotes, humor, and storytelling can humanize your content, making it relatable and inviting. Encourage readers from audience and subscribers to send you suggestions for topics to write about, future events you could host, and even their favorite funny memes.

Use Visuals

2025 AI predictions creative entrepreneurs should be aware of:

1. AI-powered personalization in creative industries

By 2025, AI will enable hyper-personalized creative outputs, transforming industries like marketing, fashion, and entertainment.

Entrepreneurs will continue to leverage AI tools to analyze consumer behavior, preferences, and emotions in real-time, creating quality content, products, and experiences.

TL;DR: Super personalized things just for you (and everyone).

2. AI-driven decentralized creative collaborations

The rise of AI will enable decentralized, global creative collaborations.

Entrepreneurs will use AI platforms to connect with talent worldwide, automating project management, language translation, and workflow optimization. 

AI tools ensure seamless communication and creative alignment and will democratize access to global talent pools, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation. 

TL;DR: Teamwork with people all over the world.

3. AI-generated intellectual property (IP) ownership battles

As AI becomes more capable of generating original content like writing, music, art, literature, and even inventions—legal battles over IP ownership will intensify.

Entrepreneurs will face complex questions: Who owns the rights to AI-generated work—the developer, the user, or the AI itself? Things will get missy and maybe we’ll see landmark court cases and new legislation addressing these issues. 

Creative people and creative businesses need to be more cautious and navigate this evolving challenge carefully, ensuring they protect their innovations while respecting ethical boundaries.

4. AI-enhanced sustainability in creative entrepreneurship

AI will play a pivotal role in driving sustainability within creative industries.

Entrepreneurs will use AI to optimize supply chains, reduce waste, and create eco-friendly products.

Also, AI will enable circular economy models (including circular services) by tracking and recycling materials throughout their lifecycle. This trend will appeal to environmentally conscious consumers, giving sustainable businesses a competitive edge.

TL;DR: Saving the environment and our planet using AI superpowers.

5. AI as a co-creator in production process (ElGrandetoto is a creative business)

The ridiculous part is while companies will still use artificial intelligence the old-fashioned way (with the same mindset they run their businesses), the creative entrepreneurs will make AI more collaborative and transform the daily use into a co-creator in their creative processes, using systems, generate ideas, develop improvements based on data-processing and analysis, and even produce finished works like ElGrandetoto did in his last released album, SALGOAT. 

TL;DR: Robots and machine learning systems as creative partners.

6. AI-driven niche market discovery

AI helped me identify some micro niche markets in 2021 with unprecedented precision and helped other entrepreneurs capitalize other niche markets. 

Have you heard of “The Riches Are In the Niches”? Think of this way as your lean marketing implementations to uncover underserved customer needs and emerging trends before they hit the mainstream.

TL;DR: Find hidden micro niches and gems with the help of AI search. 

7. AI-powered creative education platforms

As my friend Youssef Ghalem did before announcing his book launch “Serial Failurpreneur. My 11 Key Business Lessons to Release Your Full Potential: Transforming Failures into Action-Driven Triumphs”, he saw an emerging demand on AI education and created a series of online courses on his personal website yghalem.com as he did in the past when he founded Kezakoo.com’s education platform in 2012 and AICrafters.com in 2023.

The demand for AI literacy in creative industries will lead to the rise of AI-powered education platforms. Entrepreneurs will develop interactive tools that teach skills like AI-assisted design, data-driven storytelling, and algorithmic creativity. These platforms will cater to professionals seeking to upskill and students preparing for AI-driven careers.

TL;DR: Learning creativity with AI.

8. AI-driven emotional intelligence in business

AI will evolve to understand and respond to human emotions, transforming customer interactions and team dynamics. Entrepreneurs will use emotionally intelligent AI to enhance customer service, create empathetic marketing campaigns, and improve workplace collaboration. 

9. AI-enabled creative business and startups  incubators

I mentioned this 4-years ago (2021). AI will revolutionize business incubators by providing data-driven insights and predictive analytics to startups. Entrepreneurs will benefit from AI tools that assess market viability, optimize business models, and predict funding success. These incubators will also use AI to match startups with mentors, investors, and partners, accelerating innovation and reducing failure rates. This will democratize access to entrepreneurial resources, particularly for underrepresented founders.

10. AI-Driven Cultural Preservation and Innovation

AI will play a dual role in preserving cultural heritage while driving innovation. Entrepreneurs will use AI to digitize and restore ancient artifacts, languages, and traditions, making them accessible to global audiences. Simultaneously, AI will inspire new cultural expressions by blending traditional and modern elements. For example, AI could create music that fuses classical compositions with contemporary beats. This trend will enrich global culture but also challenge purists who value authenticity.

In our analysis of the 50 Fastest Growing Large Subreddits in January 2024, we narrowed our focus to those vibrant communities that fall within a sweet spot: those having between 10,000 and 100,000 members.

This specific range was chosen with a strategic intent in mind, as subreddits of this size are large enough to demonstrate a proven interest and engagement from Reddit users, yet haven't reached the "escape velocity" that propels them into the mainstream consciousness of the platform's largest communities.

What is open innovation?

The term open innovation means a situation where an organisation doesn’t just rely on their own internal knowledge, sources and resources (such as their own staff or R&D for example) for innovation (of products, services, business models, processes etc.) but also uses multiple external sources (such as customer feedback, published patents, competitors, external agencies, the public etc.) to drive innovation.

There are two types of open innovation

Inbound open innovation
