Lethal: Last Turn on Steam

A card battler built around one-turn combat puzzles! Each puzzle gives you one unique hand of cards, one turn, and endless enemies to reap. Play cards in the correct order to defeat each enemy in one turn. Keep the balance as Death's work is never done.

What’s in the Steam version of Lethal?

In the Steam version of Lethal, you can expect more cards and puzzles, tons of quality of life updates, and major enhancements to community support in making your own cards and puzzles. Here is very abbreviated list of things coming to the Steam version:

• New cards and new puzzles, some of which have “hard modes”

It’s been a while, but I’m still here! I have been heads down working on quality of life updates while we release puzzles. I’ve been working on really ironing out the kinks of this version of Lethal because I’m hoping to launch a major release to be announced soon!

You can now play Lethal with a native desktop resolution! If you’re playing Lethal on mobile, no worries - everything is the same for you.

To play the desktop version, you navigate to playlethal.fun and check “Enable Desktop Version”. After that, today’s puzzle and all archived puzzles will use the desktop version of the UI.

If you don’t know already, you can submit your own Lethal puzzles now at playlethal.fun/submit-puzzle. On that page, you can also test your puzzles in the actual game window - If you scroll to the bottom there’s a button titled “Test Puzzle”.

Please submit your puzzle ideas, I love to see them in the game. And many of the puzzles you create are much more creative than mine! To get closer to daily puzzles, we’ll need more puzzle authors.

Recently, I’ve been informed that Lethal is very similar to an old MTG magazine called “Magic The Puzzling”. I never played much Magic or any in-person TCGs, but I played many card battlers online. I think having experts in physical TCG player bases could help our community a ton, especially with making new cards mechanics or puzzles. If you or any of your friends have ever played these types of games such as Yugioh, Magic the Gathering, or Pokemon TCG, please share Lethal with them! Would love to get ideas on new puzzles from them.

  • Haunt: Trash cards permanently, add 3 vulnerability to enemy

  • Mend: Heal HP

  • Martyr: Cards cost health instead of energy

We’ve released 2 puzzles this week! The Goblin and The Minotaur.

We’ve got so many cards now that we’re able to make puzzles much faster. Very soon we’ll have puzzles every single day.

I do not plan on sending an email every day when we release a new puzzle, that’s way too spammy. This newsletter will continue to be weekly (twice a week at most) - and I’ll notify you of all the puzzles that have been released since.

If you want to be notified of the puzzle as soon as it drops, please join the Discord server. Or you can just check in on playlethal.fun everyday, whichever you’d prefer.

Our Lethal puzzle community is growing and I’ve received so much lovely feedback from from folks who seem to be enjoying the game. If you haven’t already, please join the Discord server and meet other Lethal enjoyers.

👋 Hello all!

We added a new 1-energy cost card: Gift

“Free” buff = Next card you play costs no energy.

It gives you the Free buff, which lets you play the next card at 0 energy cost. It plays well with high cost cards so far like Echo (2 energy) and Pound (3 energy).
