Many of these facilities are near homes, schools, and neighborhoods already living with the consequences of toxic pollution. Tell EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin: Enforce the Clean Air Act, reconsider these dangerous exemptions, and stop giving polluters a free pass.

That’s why we want to share our strategy to add new quality programs and upgrade the FSTV viewer experience. This plan includes identifying new philanthropic, sponsorship, and underwriting opportunities, as well as placing values-aligned ads on some of our streaming platforms. (As always, you will never see ads on our broadcast channels DISH, DIRECTV, and public access networks, nor on our website.)

Increasingly, streaming platforms require advertising as a condition for carrying our network. We face a choice: Walk away from those platforms – or stay on our terms. We choose to stay because being accessible to you matters. 

Using strict guidelines, we take no ads from exploitative industries like Big Pharma or environmentally extractive companies. 

And FSTV continues to be unbought and unbossed by corporate or government interests. Our editorial independence will never be for sale. 85% of our dollars come from viewers. By comparison, PBS and NPR receive less than 15% and 30% from viewers/listeners, respectively. 

The financial climate for independent and public media is dire; the political climate is hostile. Even as the media landscape evolves, the revenue we receive from ads will always be modest, and we will remain as dependent on your support as ever before.

Dear FSTV Viewer. 

As you may know, Fox Corp recently announced its plan to acquire the streaming platform Roku, the Roku Channel, and Roku’s customer data for $25 billion. This combined company will represent the third-largest share of viewers of any U.S. video player. 

As a result, many of you have written us letters and left comments expressing your unease about possible threats to your data privacy and an increase in ads on Roku. Moreover, because of Fox Corp’s and the Murdoch family’s right-wing agenda, there are concerns that Free Speech TV’s programming would come under attack or that Free Speech TV could be pushed off Roku altogether. 

We’ve heard these concerns, and we share them.  But, at present, we’re not aware of anything that suggests that these kinds of changes are coming to Roku or Free Speech TV. So there is nothing to fear, at least for now. 

However, as FSTV’s leadership, we take nothing for granted, especially at a moment when we’ve all experienced this administration's crackdown on free speech and civil liberties, the rise in social injustice, and the unfettered consolidation of media interests. 

To that end, FSTV will remain vigilant. We are investigating ways to proactively guard against attempts to compromise our voice and the distribution of our content. And we pledge to return to you in the coming weeks and update you on Fox’s intentions and their impact on FSTV.

Block Trump’s $87 Billion Iran War Funding Request

The White House just formally asked Congress for $87.6 billion in emergency spending, with roughly $67 billion headed to the Pentagon for costs tied to Trump’s war on Iran. That includes money for munitions, operations, military readiness, weapons stockpiles, and classified programs — all while families across the country are struggling with gas prices, rent, groceries, healthcare, and other basic costs.

$87.6 billion could be used to strengthen schools, expand healthcare, feed families, repair infrastructure and lower costs for working people. Instead, Trump wants to pour tens of billions into bombs, deployments, weapons replenishment, and the fallout from a conflict his administration launched on its own.

If lawmakers approve this request, they could open the door to even more war spending later. But if they say no, they can force accountability, demand public debate, and make clear that no president gets to start a war first and send taxpayers the bill later.

Tell Congress: Reject Trump’s $87.6 billion emergency war funding request. Do not hand the Pentagon another blank check for escalation.

Keep ICE Away From the Polls

Donald Trump’s Homeland Security secretary is refusing to rule out sending ICE agents to polling places during the midterms. Federal law already restricts armed federal officers at polling places, but the Trump administration’s refusal to clearly rule this out shows why Congress must act now.

ICE is not an election agency. Its presence at polling sites would terrify immigrant families, chill eligible voters, and place the simple act of casting a ballot against a show of federal force.

This is how voter suppression works; not necessarily by banning people from voting outright, but by making them afraid to show up. Congress must make clear that ICE has no place at polling locations and that immigration enforcement cannot be used as a political weapon in our elections.

Tell Congress: "Pass emergency protections to keep ICE and other immigration agents away from polling places, prevent voter intimidation, and defend every eligible voter’s right to cast a ballot safely."

The 2026 midterms are too important to leave this threat unanswered. If Congress waits until Election Day, the damage may already be done.

Tell FIFA: Keep ICE Out of World Cup

As workers prepare stadiums, hotels, transportation systems, and host cities for the 2026 World Cup, labor leaders are sounding the alarm about the possible presence of ICE and other immigration enforcement agents around matches.

ICE’s presence would not make the World Cup safer. Workers deserve to do their jobs without wondering whether a background check, a credentialing process, or a security checkpoint could put them or their families in danger. Fans and visitors deserve a tournament that is welcoming to people of every background.

FIFA has enormous power over how this tournament is run. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and World Cup 2026 leadership can publicly demand that immigration enforcement be kept out of host cities, clarify DHS’s role, and guarantee that worker information collected through credentialing or background checks will not be used for deportation.

The MAGA Justices on the Roberts Court just made it easier for Republicans to rig our elections — again.

In their latest decision, these billionaire-backed justices gutted a key part of the Voting Rights Act, making it harder for state legislatures to draw up district maps that dilute the voting power of Black and brown communities. This is how they help politicians control election outcomes before votes are even cast.

Across the country, people are already facing real barriers — being wrongly purged from voter rolls, waiting in hours-long lines after polling places are shut down, or being blocked from voting by restrictive rules. Tell Congress - No Troops on the Ground in Iran!

Just in case you missed it, Free Speech TV is now partnering with Civic Shout, a platform where everyday people can easily sign petitions and support the causes that matter most.

This week’s highlighted petition is an extremely important one.

For six weeks, the United States and Israel bombed Iran, killed thousands, and devastated civilian areas. The Trump administration pushed to escalate even further by proposing to put troops on the ground, commit war crimes and wipe out the “whole civilization.”

At the same time, Trump is demanding that Congress approve $200 billion in new war funding and a staggering $1.5 trillion in total defense spending.

We can’t trust that the temporary cease fire will hold. If Congress approves this funding, it won’t just bankroll more airstrikes, it will greenlight an open-ended, catastrophic conflict with no clear exit, all while ignoring the economic needs of everyday American.

No Kings 3: Scenes from New York City

FSTV teamed up with BreakThrough News to capture the mood of the people on the streets of New York City during the historic No Kings 3 demonstrations on Saturday, March 28th.

Rooted in the legacy of May Day protests, recent organizing has renewed calls for general strikes, mutual aid, and collective worker power to confront deepening economic inequality.

That energy intersected with the Anti-War Contingent, where activists connected U.S. militarism abroad to struggles at home, emphasizing that resources directed toward conflict could instead support healthcare, housing, and education.

At the same time, the Labor Sector highlighted growing momentum among workers organizing against stagnant wages, unsafe conditions, and precarious employment.

From signs reading “Stand with Minneapolis” to “No War on Iran,” the movement underscored an increasingly unified fight against systems that continue to prioritize profit and power over human needs.
