I was out when she called and asked me to get her favorite food item. I did. When she sat down to eat, I asked if she could share that same meal with me.</i><br><i>Deep down, I already knew what her answer would be and I was right. If it had been another type of food, maybe she would have shared. But this particular one? Scripture reminds us, “Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand” (1 Chronicles 29:14).</i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i>When we struggle to release something to God whether it’s our plans, possessions, or people, it’s often because we’ve confused ownership with stewardship. But the truth is, nothing we have truly belongs to us. Abraham understood this when he was willing to lay Isaac on the altar. He was tracking a severe storm when he realized a tornado was about to bear down on a town. The man paused on live TV to say this prayer heard worldwide.</i><br><i>“Dear Jesus, please help them. Amen.’</i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i>Some viewers later saud that prayer prompted them to take cover. She had grown old. Years had passed and the promise of a child had long faded into the shadows of impossibility. She even laughed, <b>not from joy, but from disbelief</b> when she heard the promise again.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">“Then Sarah laughed to herself and said, ‘After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?’” <a class="link" href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+18%3A12&version=NIV&utm_source=mail.8amdevotion.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=when-you-see-what-god-does" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Genesis 18:12</a><br>Her laughter of doubt was turned into laughter of joy. God did what only He could do. She thought he wasn’t learning anything.</i><br><i>But then she found out something surprising: at daycare, that same child was speaking French fluently with the teacher.</i><br><i>What looked like refusal at home was actually quiet learning that showed up in the right setting.</i></p><div class="image"><img alt="" class="image__image" style="" src="https://media.beehiiv.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=scale-down,format=auto,onerror=redirect,quality=80/uploads/asset/file/2befaf5a-b404-4cc3-a6c1-dc0a9246ed65/text.png?t=1691871146"/></div><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i>As I thought about it, I realized how often God is working in us in ways that don’t show right away. Sometimes we feel like we’re not growing. Like we’re not getting anywhere. Like all the prayers, Bible reading, and lessons aren’t making any difference.</i><br><i>But then something happens, it could be a challenge, an opportunity, a test, and what God has been building inside you comes out naturally.</i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i><b>That reminds me of Joseph.</b></i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i>When Joseph was sold into slavery and later thrown into prison, it probably felt like nothing good was happening. But through those hidden years, God was teaching him how to lead, how to manage people, and how to trust Him fully. And when the moment came to interpret Pharaoh’s dream, everything Joseph had learned behind the scenes came together and he was ready.</i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i><a class="link" href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+41%3A14&version=NIV&utm_source=mail.8amdevotion.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=how-god-is-working-in-ways-that-doesn-t-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Genesis 41:14 says:</a></i><br><i>“So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. One of the standout aspects was the entertainment, with a hardworking team, including a man nicknamed &quot;Aquaman.&quot; He introduced himself with a few swimming strokes to confirm his nickname. On their last night, Aquaman asked them for a 5-star review, explaining that anything less than 5 stars actually hurt his record, despite people thinking they were doing him a favor with a 4. but it would have actually been a disservice. </style><div class='beehiiv__body'><h1 class="heading" style="text-align:left;" id="your-weakness-might-be-your-greates"><i>Your weakness might be your greatest gift.</i></h1><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">One of the stories that has always touched me in Scripture is the story of <b>Gideon</b> in <a class="link" href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges+6&version=NIV&utm_source=mail.8amdevotion.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=your-greatest-gift" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Judges 6.</a></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Gideon wasn’t a strong leader, a trained warrior, or someone with public confidence. In fact, when the angel of the Lord appeared to him and called him a &quot;mighty man of valor,&quot; Gideon responded with insecurity and doubt:<br><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, Arial;font-size:16px;">Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family. </span><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, Arial;font-size:16px;"><a class="link" href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges+6%3A15&version=NIV&utm_source=mail.8amdevotion.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=your-greatest-gift" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">(Judges 6:15)</a></span><br>He was hiding in fear when God found him. He was full of questions, full of hesitation.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">But it was <b>in that exact space of weakness</b> that God decided to reveal His power. God didn’t rebuke Gideon’s honesty; instead, He affirmed His presence: “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”<br><i>(Judges 6:16)</i></p><div class="image"><img alt="" class="image__image" style="" src="https://media.beehiiv.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=scale-down,format=auto,onerror=redirect,quality=80/uploads/asset/file/2befaf5a-b404-4cc3-a6c1-dc0a9246ed65/text.png?t=1691871146"/></div><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">One of the clearest truths in the Bible is that God’s strength shows up best in our weakness.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Paul reminds us in <a class="link" href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+12%3A9&version=NIV&utm_source=mail.8amdevotion.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=your-greatest-gift" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">2 Corinthians 12:9: </a><b><i>“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.</i></b><br>We often feel like we need to have it all together before coming to God. But the Bible shows the opposite. Gideon was afraid. Yet all he was used by God, not because he wasperfect, but because they were honest about their weaknesses.<br>So don’t hide from God. Don’t wait until you feel worthy. You are the perfect candidate for grace. Bring your weakness to Him. That’s where His power works best.</p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><b>Reflection:</b> What weakness are you trying to hide from God or others?<br>Take a moment to admit it honestly to God in prayer. God will make all resources available and will equip you with grace when you go into His presence to ask.</i><br><i>However big the project or assignment, if God has brought you into it, embrace it and obtain grace to carry it out successfully.</i></p><p class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><i><b>Prayer: </b></i><i>Thank you Lord for every stage and opportunity you will give me.
